Backstory

Desmond lived the perfect sort of life you expect from an army poster boy. Picturesque nuclear family, great grades and a star quarterback; a beautiful girlfriend. He had no plans for after high school and figured that the military was a decent way to waste time figuring out what he wanted and keeping everyone off his back. What was supposed to be a temporary situation turned into a career, as Danvers turned into one of the best combat engineers in his squadron. He excelled in demolitions and explosives.
(He was originally on the same squad as Issac Monroe, but was transferred to another unit that had lost their engineer, just as his unit was being sent home).
Before the war Danvers was considered jovial, a chill guy with a great sense of humor. A practical joker but you could always count on him to be serious where it counted.
Post bombs and ghoulification he lost his sense of humor. It was a long time coming, as he tried to stay positive, but it’s pretty hard in the Commonwealth. The weight of losing his friends and family starting to sink in, the guilt of killing for money, finding new love and losing it all worked against him.[/spoiler]
