[/quote]Well, if you're rolling for you then no, you don't stop depending on his defense number. What would that be against? Will? I would think so. It would also depend on what you're rolling with--charisma? A skill like diplomacy? Or maybe the die roll is against our collective ability to spot a lie. My intelligence is pretty high, so I'd say you'd have to beat at least a 25 total.
So, you'd roll the dice for each of our will defenses and see if you score above them, making sure you add in the dice number with your diplomacy total.
....I DM 4th edition too much.

I'd say she should add Diplomacy- it's clearly based on her persuasive skill, not just generic strength of personality. It seems a little needless to have her compare her roll to each will defense- just have the highest Diplomacy (or Insight) in the group roll an opposed check.

Yep. Though I probably wouldn't count as a lurker, considering I vanished somewhere around May or June or something. I just had sucky timing for coming back. Or good I suppose, since it was before Tentacl was taken down.
