<font color="19e65b]It took lotus a moment to find Likereal, but he stopped short, when he caught sight of his back in the bathroom doorway. The light was on and it caused a start silhouette of his form to spill onto the floor behind him. Lotus imagined he could almost see the black feather wings on his back.
"They said it was alright---they didn't mind if you stayed over. They've got some party to attend to anyways, so just more fun for them," He supplied quietly, not wanting to break Likèreal’s thought process if he was thinking and creating.
<font color="#e6c519] Likereal was silent for a while as he stared at the blank wall,, trying to decide what would best suit the space, when Lotus spoke he looked over his shoulder with a smile. "Alright I'm glad that they don't mind."
Looking back into the room he was silent for a short while before asking, "Do you know if they had anything in particular in mind? I keep coming back to a maple tree but i think its too large for the space..." He went silent as he stared, "Or bamboo, with falling sakura blossoms.... or too many other ideas..."
He sighed softly.
<font color="19e65b]Lotus shook his head, but stepped forward more into the lit bathroom. It was simple, with mild colors of pale greens and purples. He looked from the shower curtain to the wall to the floor and offered shyly, "Perhaps something simple--like a solid line of thick color about eye height? But no, there were no real thoughts about the bathroom---bamboo washout might be pretty cool though," he perked up a bit, looking at Likereal so gauge his reaction.
<font color="#e6c519]He was quiet as he contemplated his words. A simple band of colour would be easy enough to accomplish, choosing green from the green and purple highlights in the room because it was easier to go with. Smiling he looked back at Lotus once more, "Thanks."
Moving over he placed his case down and withdrew the paint, mixing a colour as close as he could manage to the accents he could see and then he got a ruler and a pencil, with practised ease he drew a thick line at around eyesight around the white walls and stepped back. After he was certain it was straight he went to paint but paused.
"Hm..." He went back and reworked the paint to a few different shades as well as a few browns and moved over into the corner of the room where two walls met and he started sketching the bamboo across the wall and began painting it.
<font color="19e65b]Lotus watched Likereal as he looked across the bathroom and it's plain walls. He could almost see the wheels as they contemplated this new challenge of his creative focus, and Lotus felt trapped between what to do.
Should he linger and observe as he had? Would that be too much of a distraction? But it was also his home, why shouldn't he watch? So the male worried on his bottom lip as he simply stayed in the doorfame of the room, just enough out of the way should Likereal need to come out again.
"Perhaps you'd like some space?" he inquired, a little uncertain as his quiet voice gently filled his bathing room.
<font color="#e6c519]Likereal was silent as he moved around the room, stepping within the porcelin bath so that he could reach the wall better. Remaining careful as he coloured in the band of green at first. Pausing in his painting he brushed his thumb against his cheek, brushing hair away and smudging paint there as he turned his gaze back to Lotus.
"It's alright, I don't mind if you want to stay and watch," He said with a smile. "Though if you have things to do you certainly don't have to stay here with me." He added as he turned back to the wall, moving the emerald green band continued to take place and once it was completed he went back to the bamboo he had roughly sketched.
His tongue slipped slightly between his lips as he altered the sketch and then dipped his paintbrush into the paint once more. "Do you think it would look better as a silhouette or coloured?"
<font color="19e65b]"Err...perhaps colored? Since the bathroom looks to be fairly plain in colors and everything. Would be a good balance I might think? But I'm not the expert on such things...." he trailed off, not having had any real idea of what he wanted to do for this part of the apartment. What had started as a simple task had become a full scale event, but for some reason, he didn't mind.
Watching Likereal work, made him far too tempting. His mind was so engauged on the project, Lotus knew that his sexual appeal that was drawing Lotus to to the Fallen was completely and utterly unintentional.
And therefore, all the more alluring.
"I imagine the owners often spend time in the tub with candlelight, so would that be a factor?" He politely inquired, pointing to the few large candles, indeed, burned from previous times.
<font color="#e6c519]Likereal was thoughtful staring at the wall that was his canvas quietly, allowing the other male's voice to wash over him pleasantly. He was quite enjoying this, he was glad he'd let Lotus talk him into it, though he'd leave it to Lotus to talk to the owners. If they didn't like it they could paint over it, but he wouldn't be trying again.
Dark strands fell loose against his nape and chin where it had escaped the band. Finally he nodded at the other male's words, it was true, there was so much white in the bathroom, adding black would just further emphasize the monochrome. Dipping his paintbrush into another green and he began painting the bamboo. Blocks of colour over white as he filled in the sketches he'd made.
Once the block colour was done he changed to a different green and began blending, adding highlights and differences in colour, adding golden brown areas that was common in nature.
<font color="19e65b]Lotus could only stand there for a time before getting antsy. He'd not had any visitors in his home yet, nor did he make plans to start making it a habit. It was his sanctuary from the world outside after all. So the presence of another person in his apartment was blaring---but it was a warm comforting feeling with Likereal, not what Lotus had expected at all.
Lotus tucked his hands into the pockets of his pants and fidgeted. Music, that's what the needed. Or he'd be staring at Likereal's handsome figure instead of focusing on what he was creating. "Music?" he asked.
<font color="#e6c519]Likereal worked on the mix of greens and golds, highlights and shadows. Mixing further colours to add to the shading of the bamboo as he worked on the ridges, using black and white to emphasize them. He then moved across the other side of the bathroom, repeating the same procedure on the other side though he paused, looking over his shoulder at Lotus.
"Sure," He said with a smile at the question. It wouldnt be the first time he'd used music as inspiration, it was sometimes as handy as a person or a place. Not that he needed much more inspiration than just having Lotus around, but the male didn't need to know that. Turning back he continued, "Put on anything you'd like."
<font color="19e65b]Lotus nodded his head, and went back downstairs to choose the selection that he thought most appropriate. The sound system in his apartment was connected all throughout, with speakers installed subtly in all the rooms of the flat. something...with a beat, but not too energetic. After flipping through a few channels, he ended on a streaming station of continuous soft rock music.
To further keep himself from making a fool of himself staring at Likereal while he didn't know about it, he hussled about and started to pull out his rice cooker and a much loved wok. Not that it wasn't a crazy spontaneous idea, but he'd given enough shy forethought to have purchased enough food for two to enjoy a lovely meal.
So while Likereal worked above, Lotus could be heard over the music opening cabinets and making noise from the kitchen.
<font color="#e6c519]Likereal continued painting though he felt the moment Lotus left the room. Ten minutes he had finished with the block colours and a smile appearing on his lips as he heard the music begin within the room. He continued blending and shading the way he had with the previous side, he wasn't concerned when Lotus didn't return, but he wasn't overly surprised.
What did surprise him was the sound of cupboards opening and closing, he was curious and he left his painting long enough to wander out briefly, looking down into the kitchen, a smile curving his lips at the sight of him bustling around the kitchen. Still smiling he went back and resumed painting. Ten or fifteen minutes later he had finished the bamboo and had begun on the leaves a mix of black and darker green as he began creating the leaves among the large bamboo.
Half an hour from when Lotus had disappeared Likereal had completed the bamboo, leaves and all. Mixing some new colours he added a few butterflies within the gaps, adding a bit of extra colour bringing in the purple from the bathroom and other colours. Standing back he looked at it and shrugged lightly, well it looked alright to him.
<font color="19e65b]Lotus allowed himself to drift along with the music that was playing. Moving his hips and quietly bustling about in his kitchen as he made them dinner. But--he thought with a pause, if this wasn't his house, he'd not feel so confident and comfortable. So he peeked up the stair way to see if Likereal had come out yet and seen him, and began to put on a small show to belay any suspicions his boyfriend might otherwise have.
He'd hate to have made all these preparations only to spoil it to reveal a highly embarrassing situation for himself.
The miso was simmering nicely, so he added the fresh green onions and the tofu to the small pot. In a wok he had already stir fried the veggies and was now adding the seafood medley fresh from the market just by the bay earlier that morning. The sharp smells of ginger and garlic and soy sauce started to fill the apartment, and after adding rice wine to the concoction, and huge burst of flames licked up from the stove burner. Lotus calmly flipped the whole dinner with a heavy flick of his wrist, before putting it to the side.
The only thing he hadn't made was dessert....but that was because he'd walked by his favorite bakery and saw the most delicious looking strawberry cake.
<font color="#e6c519]Likereal finished the painting and he surveyed the wall quietly for a few moments, his head tilted to the side before deciding that he was finished at least for now. He ducked his head out the doorway in time to see the other male pottering around the kitchen still with a skill that he himself lacked.
Smiling faintly he went back into the bathroom and cleaned off his brushes, tidying up the room so that it was put back into the condition it was in when he arrived, at least somewhat. Not that he'd be the one dealing with the apartment owner but still, he didn't want to make any extra work for Lotus. So once he was finished tidying up he left the room though small dashes of paint covered his skin and added to the paint that already covered the loose comfortable clothes he wore for times such as this. Brushing his wet hands over his pants he left his supplies upstairs and made his way down to his boyfriend.
Coming up behind him he smiled, golden eyes glimmering in enjoyment at spending the time with him. He brought his arms around him and lightly kissed his neck, "Someone's been busy."
<font color="19e65b]Lotus pretended to not notice Likereal coming down, seeing his feet come down the stairs, so he busied himself by look for something in the cabinets. So it surprised him when warm arms slipped around him, he stiffened but forced the muscles to relax. This was his home. He was safe. This wasn't an intruder. It wasn't a guest. It was Likereal. And if Likereal ever should break that fragile trust...it would be the last time he ever tried to make a connection to the world.
Heavy thoughts in his mind as he tipped his head to the side to glance back at Likereal, replying, "Only seemed fair. You've been busy and working hard. And I felt useless staring at you at you worked. So better to busy the body than to let the mind go stagnant."
....He shifted and lifted the lid to the pot with the simmering soup, "I hope you're hungry?"
"They said it was alright---they didn't mind if you stayed over. They've got some party to attend to anyways, so just more fun for them," He supplied quietly, not wanting to break Likèreal’s thought process if he was thinking and creating.
