Painting Walls [1x1] - Angel Kimmi - 07-03-2015

--Resuming an RP from about 2 years ago, there is more before this--

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal thought the other male's mouth tasted rich and sweet, though he couldn't help but idly wish that they'd come to a wall instead of almost knocking over a vase. But seeing the other male smile like that was worth it. Likereal smiled faintly and said, "You mentioned the kitchen, where was it that they wanted the art in there?"

<font color="19e65b]“Along the paneling of the wall I think was mentioned," Lotus said a bit breathlessly, as he ran his hands through his hair and tried to look more presentable again. "Japanese script of poetry? Or some artistic combination like that? They weren't very specific,"

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal frowned slightly as he thought about that, his knowledge of japanese wasn't non-existant however he wasn't good enough to come up with poetry. He thought for a moment, he could work with that, perhaps some bamboo in browns and greens with the poetry, "Do you have any poems I could copy onto the pannels?"

<font color="19e65b]Lotus told him just a moment, and grabbed his phone, pulling up a japanese poem, and showed it to him. "That one." It didn't offer translation but it was a poem that Lotus felt keenly--it spoke of serenity.

<font color="#e6c519]He waited for the other male to find the poem and then took the phone to read it, he understood parts of it but not completely. "Alright then," he said and placed the phone onto the kitchen bench. Walking over he grabbed his supplies and relocated them over to the kitchen. Picking up the phone again he sketched the words onto the kitchen panelling, scattering the words of the poem between the different doors and the words were at different levels as well, not keeping it straight. As he washed his supplies and spread paint over the palate once more he started painting the words of the poem in black.

This was going to be one of the quickest rooms to do. The Japanese characters needed to be precise and he checked back to the images on the phone quite frequently but they formed quite easily beneath his brush in black paint, spread out evenly across the panels, every second panel was decorated in this way and once he finished with the black he washed his brush out again.

Changing brush he then began mixing colours again and he changed his mind, mixing different colours instead. Being very careful of the black so as not to smudge the lettering he began carefully painting a range of decorations dotted randomly around the words – sakura petals, butterflies and maple leaves dotted their way across the doors.

It only took forty-five minutes or so to complete the doors and he was happy with the results. Putting down the palate onto the bench he picked up his coffee and finished the remainder of what was in it. He washed his palate and brushes in the sink, being careful to get rid of every trace of paint before he got his towel and wiped them all off.

Looking back at the doors he smiled, “I’m going to have to put a flat, non-gloss varnish over the doors in a day or two to make sure that it doesn’t chip or get ruined. On the walls as well.”

<font color="19e65b]Lotus nodded his head, having meandered back and forth from the kitchen to the living room to just stare at the painted walls. He quietly entered the kitchen one final time, as Likereal was finishing his task, leaning on the counter top with his hip off to the side.

"So...does this mean you'll have to come back tomorrow?" he asked, tipping his head to the side to admire the work. "They're going to love this..."

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal smiled as the other male walked back into the kitchen, turning his gaze onto him properly as he packed his supplies into the case that he carried, "I'm glad that you think so. And I suppose I could tell you how to apply it but you're going to have to be careful. I can't do it today, the paint will be too wet still."

Lik snapped it shut as he turned his gaze back to Lotus and smiled, “So bedroom was the last one you mentioned as well as anywhere else, did they want anything in the bathroom? I'm assuming those are the only two rooms left that I haven’t seen yet.”

Painting Walls [1x1] - Angel Kimmi - 07-03-2015

<font color="19e65b]Lotus blinked at him for a moment, unregistering. Did he know....? Surely not. Right?

Lotus bit his bottom lip and shook his head, "Me? I'm qualified for many things, but my painting and artistict skills in this department leave much to be desired. I uh---can let the owners know to stay out another night?" He offered, and opened the fridge to pull out some cucumber sandwhich makings to distract. Along with a dazzling smile.

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal had an inkling, just a slight one that perhaps Lotus knew more than he was saying but it was only an idea he didn't have anything substantial to base that off of course. Wiping his hands on his pants as he picked up the case he turned towards Lotus with a smile. "That would be appreciated, I would hate for anything to happen to the artwork. And it would take a little while to teach you how to put the gloss over it as well."

Watching Lotus curiously as he pulled things out of the fridge, before his gaze shifted around the kitchen making sure he hadn't made a mess over the counter tops but he'd been very careful. "Making food?"

<font color="19e65b]"Something to nibble--they won't mind," Lotus said breezily, quickly hunting out the appropriate plates and utensils, setting it up to make the veggie treat. "Well," he continued as he peeled the cucumber effortlessly with a knife, not watching what he was doing, "Then best to have the professional work on it tomorrow. You could just stay the night---then you wouldn't have to worry about all your stuff." he remarked, jerking his chin towards the paint.

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal smiled watching the other male and the ease in which he found things and peeled the cucumber, though he thought that he should pay more attention or he'd end up with a bloody thumb. "You should watch what you're doing Lotus," He said softly. "Or you'll cut yourself."

He thought about the offer silently, it would make it easier not to have to come all the way back the next day. Especially since Lotus would have to blindfold him and bring him there, "Sure if you don't think they would mind."

<font color="19e65b]Lotus snorted softly and shrugged, but looked back down at his fast moving hands, just in case. The blood would certainly offset the tasty treat. "I'll find out, but if they're not here, its just as good as a housesitter, I mean, they trust you enough in the house with a babysitter," He teased, splaying the slices of fresh cucumbers on hearty bread slices followed by the special dressing.

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal smiled as he leaned against the counter, putting his bag on the floor as he watched him. "I suppose that is true." He didn't verbalise it but the fallen wasn't going to turn down an opportunity to spend more time with Lotus, especially not a spacious apartment. Of course it all depended on if he was staying.

"I suppose I'll order pizza or something....actually you order pizza before you go since I dont know the address" He stated testing the water in a more subtle way than he usually did. Lotus would be sure to tell him whether he was staying.

<font color="19e65b]Lotus slid the porcelin plate across the tile top counter to Likereal with a thoughtful smile. "You trust me to order pizza? Perhaps the fumes have gotten to your head," He teased, hopping up on the counter next to the sandwich plate, crossing his legs.

His gaze followed back to the walls drying and he smiled oddly. "Such a marvelous talent."

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal paused for a moment and thought about that. "Good point. I'll order the pizza and you give them the address." He stated as he stretched hsi arms above his head stretching out his muscles as he watched the other male as he hopped onto the counter.

The fallen stepped forward, slipping gently between his thighs slightly as he dipped his head, brushing his lips against Lotus' in a soft caress before pulling back, "Thank you."

<font color="19e65b]Lotus shook his head--he figured Likereal would respond that way. It was fine, he would have probably ordered something vegetarian, but if Likereal ordered something really unhealthy, he could excuse himself from guilt because he didn't order it.

"Sounds like a perfect plan to execute," He replied but grew quickly quiet as the other male slipped between his legs, so warm and solid. The kiss was soft and sweet and Lotus quickly colored to a crimson flush in response, unable to help himself.

"Y-your welcome," he stammered, clearing his throat before being able to finish his sentence. Lightly he wrapped his arms around Likereal's neck and pulled him closer.

<font color="#e6c519] He could only imagine what Lotus would order, probably something overly healthy, so his new plan seemed far better. As Likereal looked deeply into the other male's eyes enjoying the closeness but moving gently and slowly, like one would so as not to scare away a stray cat. When Lotus grew quiet and blushed he didn't make another movement until he felt arms wrap around his neck and pull him close.

The fallen smiled, shifting closer, his hips coming slightly above the height of the counter top as he shifted slightly closer towards him. Arms lightly encircling the male's waist as his lips lightly brushed against Lotus' once more, gentle and coaxing.

<font color="19e65b]Lotus leaned forward slightly, lashes close enough to tickle Likereal's cheek. His lips softly nibbled along his jaw line, not sure if he wanted to do this yet, or not.

<font color="#e6c519] Likereal stood there, his hands resting against the other male's back, feeling his warmth through his clothing. His own eyes closing as he felt the soft brush of lashes against his cheek and the soft lips and gentle pressure of teeth against his jaw. His thumb slid gently under the shirt to smooth softly against his skin. "Mm..."

<font color="19e65b]Somewhere, in one of the back rooms not yet explored, came a loud ringing alarm with a peppy japanese song. Lotus's eyes widened before looking oddly sheepish and then said, "I guess I left my cell phone in the other room---I'll be, back. " He scooted away quickly to scamper off, hollering as he ran, "Ready to tackle the bedroom? Or maybe the washroom next?" His voice echoed off the empty hallway, the ringing still continuing.

<font color="#e6c519] Likereal opened his eyes at the sound though he wasn't very surprised when the other male took the opportunity to retreat as quickly as he could. Once more he stretched, pilfering one sandwich from the plate he took a bite as he picked up his bag and headed upstairs towards the bedroom and bathroom.

The fallen walked into the bathroom and gazed at it quietly as he contemplated what he could put in there that wouldn't overpower the space. It wasn't huge but it was reasonable in size.. It was important that they complimented each other and he stood there silently staring at it, thoughtful.

Painting Walls [1x1] - Angel Kimmi - 07-03-2015

<font color="19e65b]It took lotus a moment to find Likereal, but he stopped short, when he caught sight of his back in the bathroom doorway. The light was on and it caused a start silhouette of his form to spill onto the floor behind him. Lotus imagined he could almost see the black feather wings on his back.

"They said it was alright---they didn't mind if you stayed over. They've got some party to attend to anyways, so just more fun for them," He supplied quietly, not wanting to break Likèreal’s thought process if he was thinking and creating.

<font color="#e6c519] Likereal was silent for a while as he stared at the blank wall,, trying to decide what would best suit the space, when Lotus spoke he looked over his shoulder with a smile. "Alright I'm glad that they don't mind."

Looking back into the room he was silent for a short while before asking, "Do you know if they had anything in particular in mind? I keep coming back to a maple tree but i think its too large for the space..." He went silent as he stared, "Or bamboo, with falling sakura blossoms.... or too many other ideas..."

He sighed softly.

<font color="19e65b]Lotus shook his head, but stepped forward more into the lit bathroom. It was simple, with mild colors of pale greens and purples. He looked from the shower curtain to the wall to the floor and offered shyly, "Perhaps something simple--like a solid line of thick color about eye height? But no, there were no real thoughts about the bathroom---bamboo washout might be pretty cool though," he perked up a bit, looking at Likereal so gauge his reaction.

<font color="#e6c519]He was quiet as he contemplated his words. A simple band of colour would be easy enough to accomplish, choosing green from the green and purple highlights in the room because it was easier to go with. Smiling he looked back at Lotus once more, "Thanks."

Moving over he placed his case down and withdrew the paint, mixing a colour as close as he could manage to the accents he could see and then he got a ruler and a pencil, with practised ease he drew a thick line at around eyesight around the white walls and stepped back. After he was certain it was straight he went to paint but paused.

"Hm..." He went back and reworked the paint to a few different shades as well as a few browns and moved over into the corner of the room where two walls met and he started sketching the bamboo across the wall and began painting it.

<font color="19e65b]Lotus watched Likereal as he looked across the bathroom and it's plain walls. He could almost see the wheels as they contemplated this new challenge of his creative focus, and Lotus felt trapped between what to do.

Should he linger and observe as he had? Would that be too much of a distraction? But it was also his home, why shouldn't he watch? So the male worried on his bottom lip as he simply stayed in the doorfame of the room, just enough out of the way should Likereal need to come out again.

"Perhaps you'd like some space?" he inquired, a little uncertain as his quiet voice gently filled his bathing room.

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal was silent as he moved around the room, stepping within the porcelin bath so that he could reach the wall better. Remaining careful as he coloured in the band of green at first. Pausing in his painting he brushed his thumb against his cheek, brushing hair away and smudging paint there as he turned his gaze back to Lotus.

"It's alright, I don't mind if you want to stay and watch," He said with a smile. "Though if you have things to do you certainly don't have to stay here with me." He added as he turned back to the wall, moving the emerald green band continued to take place and once it was completed he went back to the bamboo he had roughly sketched.

His tongue slipped slightly between his lips as he altered the sketch and then dipped his paintbrush into the paint once more. "Do you think it would look better as a silhouette or coloured?"

<font color="19e65b]"Err...perhaps colored? Since the bathroom looks to be fairly plain in colors and everything. Would be a good balance I might think? But I'm not the expert on such things...." he trailed off, not having had any real idea of what he wanted to do for this part of the apartment. What had started as a simple task had become a full scale event, but for some reason, he didn't mind.

Watching Likereal work, made him far too tempting. His mind was so engauged on the project, Lotus knew that his sexual appeal that was drawing Lotus to to the Fallen was completely and utterly unintentional.
And therefore, all the more alluring.

"I imagine the owners often spend time in the tub with candlelight, so would that be a factor?" He politely inquired, pointing to the few large candles, indeed, burned from previous times.

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal was thoughtful staring at the wall that was his canvas quietly, allowing the other male's voice to wash over him pleasantly. He was quite enjoying this, he was glad he'd let Lotus talk him into it, though he'd leave it to Lotus to talk to the owners. If they didn't like it they could paint over it, but he wouldn't be trying again.

Dark strands fell loose against his nape and chin where it had escaped the band. Finally he nodded at the other male's words, it was true, there was so much white in the bathroom, adding black would just further emphasize the monochrome. Dipping his paintbrush into another green and he began painting the bamboo. Blocks of colour over white as he filled in the sketches he'd made.

Once the block colour was done he changed to a different green and began blending, adding highlights and differences in colour, adding golden brown areas that was common in nature.

<font color="19e65b]Lotus could only stand there for a time before getting antsy. He'd not had any visitors in his home yet, nor did he make plans to start making it a habit. It was his sanctuary from the world outside after all. So the presence of another person in his apartment was blaring---but it was a warm comforting feeling with Likereal, not what Lotus had expected at all.

Lotus tucked his hands into the pockets of his pants and fidgeted. Music, that's what the needed. Or he'd be staring at Likereal's handsome figure instead of focusing on what he was creating. "Music?" he asked.

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal worked on the mix of greens and golds, highlights and shadows. Mixing further colours to add to the shading of the bamboo as he worked on the ridges, using black and white to emphasize them. He then moved across the other side of the bathroom, repeating the same procedure on the other side though he paused, looking over his shoulder at Lotus.

"Sure," He said with a smile at the question. It wouldnt be the first time he'd used music as inspiration, it was sometimes as handy as a person or a place. Not that he needed much more inspiration than just having Lotus around, but the male didn't need to know that. Turning back he continued, "Put on anything you'd like."

<font color="19e65b]Lotus nodded his head, and went back downstairs to choose the selection that he thought most appropriate. The sound system in his apartment was connected all throughout, with speakers installed subtly in all the rooms of the flat. something...with a beat, but not too energetic. After flipping through a few channels, he ended on a streaming station of continuous soft rock music.

To further keep himself from making a fool of himself staring at Likereal while he didn't know about it, he hussled about and started to pull out his rice cooker and a much loved wok. Not that it wasn't a crazy spontaneous idea, but he'd given enough shy forethought to have purchased enough food for two to enjoy a lovely meal.

So while Likereal worked above, Lotus could be heard over the music opening cabinets and making noise from the kitchen.

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal continued painting though he felt the moment Lotus left the room. Ten minutes he had finished with the block colours and a smile appearing on his lips as he heard the music begin within the room. He continued blending and shading the way he had with the previous side, he wasn't concerned when Lotus didn't return, but he wasn't overly surprised.

What did surprise him was the sound of cupboards opening and closing, he was curious and he left his painting long enough to wander out briefly, looking down into the kitchen, a smile curving his lips at the sight of him bustling around the kitchen. Still smiling he went back and resumed painting. Ten or fifteen minutes later he had finished the bamboo and had begun on the leaves a mix of black and darker green as he began creating the leaves among the large bamboo.

Half an hour from when Lotus had disappeared Likereal had completed the bamboo, leaves and all. Mixing some new colours he added a few butterflies within the gaps, adding a bit of extra colour bringing in the purple from the bathroom and other colours. Standing back he looked at it and shrugged lightly, well it looked alright to him.

<font color="19e65b]Lotus allowed himself to drift along with the music that was playing. Moving his hips and quietly bustling about in his kitchen as he made them dinner. But--he thought with a pause, if this wasn't his house, he'd not feel so confident and comfortable. So he peeked up the stair way to see if Likereal had come out yet and seen him, and began to put on a small show to belay any suspicions his boyfriend might otherwise have.

He'd hate to have made all these preparations only to spoil it to reveal a highly embarrassing situation for himself.
The miso was simmering nicely, so he added the fresh green onions and the tofu to the small pot. In a wok he had already stir fried the veggies and was now adding the seafood medley fresh from the market just by the bay earlier that morning. The sharp smells of ginger and garlic and soy sauce started to fill the apartment, and after adding rice wine to the concoction, and huge burst of flames licked up from the stove burner. Lotus calmly flipped the whole dinner with a heavy flick of his wrist, before putting it to the side.

The only thing he hadn't made was dessert....but that was because he'd walked by his favorite bakery and saw the most delicious looking strawberry cake.

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal finished the painting and he surveyed the wall quietly for a few moments, his head tilted to the side before deciding that he was finished at least for now. He ducked his head out the doorway in time to see the other male pottering around the kitchen still with a skill that he himself lacked.

Smiling faintly he went back into the bathroom and cleaned off his brushes, tidying up the room so that it was put back into the condition it was in when he arrived, at least somewhat. Not that he'd be the one dealing with the apartment owner but still, he didn't want to make any extra work for Lotus. So once he was finished tidying up he left the room though small dashes of paint covered his skin and added to the paint that already covered the loose comfortable clothes he wore for times such as this. Brushing his wet hands over his pants he left his supplies upstairs and made his way down to his boyfriend.

Coming up behind him he smiled, golden eyes glimmering in enjoyment at spending the time with him. He brought his arms around him and lightly kissed his neck, "Someone's been busy."

<font color="19e65b]Lotus pretended to not notice Likereal coming down, seeing his feet come down the stairs, so he busied himself by look for something in the cabinets. So it surprised him when warm arms slipped around him, he stiffened but forced the muscles to relax. This was his home. He was safe. This wasn't an intruder. It wasn't a guest. It was Likereal. And if Likereal ever should break that fragile trust...it would be the last time he ever tried to make a connection to the world.

Heavy thoughts in his mind as he tipped his head to the side to glance back at Likereal, replying, "Only seemed fair. You've been busy and working hard. And I felt useless staring at you at you worked. So better to busy the body than to let the mind go stagnant."

....He shifted and lifted the lid to the pot with the simmering soup, "I hope you're hungry?"

Painting Walls [1x1] - Angel Kimmi - 07-03-2015

<font color="#e6c519] Likereal felt the slight stiffening in his boyfriend's shoulders before he felt Lotus relax within his arms once more, he felt it but didn't comment on it. His arms linking comfortably against his boyfriend, one of his hands rubbed softly at Lotus' hip as he glanced at the soup, "Mm...I finished the bathroom."

Remaining slightly bent over he lightly brushed his lips back and forth against his neck, soft and gentle before he murmured against his ear. "And you were inspirational, you helped me feel better about how my art was going, so I think it was a very important job.

<font color="19e65b]"Bathrooms finished already? My but you're fast," Lotus said, a bit surprised as he tipped his head back against Likèreal’s shoulder. He shrugged off the compliment though, knowing for himself that wasn't anything special as far as helping the artist out.

Lotus jerked a chin at the food simmering and waiting for them on the stove top, "You hungry? And if you need, you can take a shower after you eat, the food's perfect now. Not later."

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal chuckled softly as the other male rested his head against his shoulder, his thumb still rubbing across Lotus' hip as he glanced over at the food. "Well, bamboo isn't too difficult to do plus you've been cooking for about forty-five minutes and it smells delicious."

His lips quirked slightly at the command that he could shower later and not now. He kissed the male's neck softly and responded, "Of course I wouldn't want to ruin the food. Have I done all of the rooms then?"

Thoughtful his gaze shifted towards the food catching sight of the desert he smiled before adding, "Didn't you say they wanted something in the bedroom?"

<font color="19e65b]Lotus frowned in thought, did he want the bedroom done? He supposed after all this, it would make sense that that would be the last room. He certainly wasn't going to have his lab room painted, it would look---odd.

"Y-es. That would be the last room, this place isn't too terribly large. Uhm..." his thought process did a small tumble at the thought of Likereal in the sanctuary of his room. In his bedroom. A sexual image of the Fallen dark man stretched out naked in his masculine ease on this sheets made the assassin's face turn white to beat red.

He brusquely nodded his head, not even paying attention to Like as he wiggled from his arms to busy himself with getting plates and forks and chopsticks and spoons...and....placemats....and..........glasses....and......and.....

<font color="#e6c519]Golden eyes shifted back towards Lotus when he didn't answer for a while, curious about whether or not he was wrong. He'd been almost positive the male had mentioned the bedroom earlier. He nodded slightly in agreement when Lotus said it would be the last room, though he caught sight of his face that had turned bright red before the other assassin pulled away.

Bemused he watched Lotus as he tried to wiggle from his arms, allowing them to drop and the other male to escape with a tad reluctance. He continued watching as he started moving around the kitchen gathering all the various things with surprising ease, but perhaps he'd checked where everything was while he was still upstairs painting. Still he was curious what it was that had caused him to flush so deeply, it was when he'd mentioned the bedroom. Perhaps Lotus' libido had kicked in momentarily at the mention of the bedroom? He could only wish. Likereal said softly, "Do you need any help in setting the table or putting the food out?"

<font color="19e65b]"Nope. Got it covered. You go and plant yourself in a chair and I'll follow after," he said, still trying to get his facial features under control, not to mention the hardness that was growing between his legs---apparently not going to easily be dispersed with sheer mental thought.

He gathered all the things he needed and then some, quickly placing out the mats and glassware and utensils, getting a tray to carry the soup bowls and plates heavily laddened.

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal watched the other male curious, he'd never seen him flush so darkly before...not that he could remember anyway. Despite his teasing and flirting he rarely ever got such a response. He stepped slightly closer, his fingers lightly brushing through Lotus' hair as his breath tickled his ear, "Are you sure?"

Golden eyes sliding across to the various things that needed to be brought across, "Because that is a lot for you to bring across yourself..."

<font color="19e65b]"I worked as a server before, I can manage," He mumbled, brushing off the concern as he more immediately fretted about how he was going to walk that distance from the kitchen to the table and back without his...dilemma...getting noticed.

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal watched Lotus for a few moments wondering why he was so adament about doing it himself before he finally shrugged lightly, fingers trailing down the other male's spine as he stepped away from him. "Alright, but I hope your stubbornness doesn't make you drop something," he stated as he walked towards the table.

He pulled out one of the chairs and sat down, crossing his legs at the ankles though his gaze once more focused on Lotus as he did so. He was the most interesting thing in the room after all, and he wasn't entirely certain he wasn't going to end up dropping something.

<font color="19e65b]Lotus grabbed a serving tray, placing portions on the plates, and then the bowls ladeled with the steaming soup, hoisting it up by a strong arm to rest on his shoulder as he grabbed two bottles of beer by the neck, and walked up to the table where Likereal was reposed. He carefully put down the chilled bottles next to the tall glasses, before handing out the plate and the bowl.

"Is there anything else you might want? Soy sauce, chinese mustard?" He asked as he moved carefully to put his own meal down, careful to cover himself with the tray when it was empty.

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal continued watching him, resting his chin on the palm of his hand as the other male hoisted the tray upwards, he was half expecting it to all crash. He was sure it had to be heavy but it didn't seem to bother the other male and that caused him to smile slightly as his gaze trailed down the other male's form.

The golden gaze pausing momentarily on the tightness of the male's pants before his gaze shifted upwards to the food that the male was putting down. One hand shifting to grasp the bottles and he twisted the cap, opening it easily before pouring it into the glass and repeating it, having disregarded it as just Lotus' choice of pants.

"No this is fine, thank you," He said with a smile though his attention shifted slightly at the shift of the tray. "Did you spill something on yourself?" he queried.

<font color="19e65b]Lotus stared at his boyfriend blankly for a moment, not understanding until he followed Likereal's gaze down his tummy to his....he caught his breath with a groan before letting it out to play it off with a loud laugh. "Ah...yeah. I thought I was being subtle. I'll just need a minute to clean up," he quickly said, already turning tail to head back into the safety the kitchen offered.

He made sure to make a fuss about it--getting a towel, turning on the water....but the rubbing was superficial with his back to the Fallen. That surely would make this only more awkward, he thought with silent groan, glaring down at himself.
What timing!

The assassin knew he couldn't just stand there all night, though the thought was tempting indeed. Instead he tried to calm himself as best he could before quickly sauntering back to the table, plopping himself down fast.

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal's lips quirked slightly as Lotus looked embarrassed before admitting that he had spilled something over himself. Gold eyes focused on him as Lotus made his way into the kitchen and went about cleaning himself up, the fallen didn't hide his curiosity. He wondered whether perhaps he was aroused and that was the reason for his reactions and the tight pants, but he'd never caught Lotus like that before, usually the male spent the majority his time pushing him off and telling him he wasn't interested. And he hadn't even done anything this time...

He smiled at Lotus when he made his way back over and sat down. He picked up his own glass of beer and sipped it lightly before putting it back down again, picking up his spoon. He lightly stirred it before bringing a spoonful to his lips, blowing it before bringing it into his mouth.

Likereal smiled as he lowered the spoon once more, "Delicious, thank you."

<font color="19e65b]Lotus smiled at that, pleased to see Likereal take the first bite and taste, even as he pretended that Likereal hadn't been staring at him more intently than usual. He couldn't cross his legs, so he carefully spread them and leaned forward, assuming a very casual position, as he picked up his chopsticks and started in himself.

"I'm glad to hear. How long do you think you'll need to finish up? Or did you have other plans tonight? I think you could come back tomorrow if you needed instead?" he inquired around a chicken and pork potsticker.

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal smiled and continued to drink the soup, picking up the bowl carefully he brought it up slightly making it easier, he'd never understood why most mortals liked bringing food such a long distance from the plate to their mouth. He liked the japanese custom a lot more, made more sense.

He continued sipping the soup though he paused, uncrossing his legs at the ankles he moved one leg forward slightly, rubbing his calf along Lotus' as he pondered the question, "Well I'm going to have to leave them a few hours before I can put a few coats of protective gloss over them, so I can do that tomorrow."

"As for how long I need to finish up..." Likereal thought to himself about the last room, he'd been making quite good time with the rest of the rooms. "Well it depends on how complicated I make the painting in that room, I haven't seen it so I haven't made a decision...perhaps a few more hours?"

<font color="19e65b]Lotus felt a shiver up his leg at the brief contact, pausing in his bite even to let it wash through him before saying with a slightly husky voice, "There are many more layers and processes to this than I had thought. I'm sure the owners will be pleased at your attention to detail and care."

A few more hours? Lotus glanced at the clock, and shook his head, "It'll be awfully late by the time you're finished. You wanna just save yourself the extra trip and crash here tonight?" He said it lightly enough, but to be truthful, he was terrified that he'd say yes.

Or that he'd say no.

<font color="#e6c519]Golden eyes watched Lotus carefully and he smiled at the other male's response, his calf continued to rub gently back and forth against Lotus' as he smiled around the spoon. Lowering it he nodded, "If I don't put anything over it the paint can chip, peel or fade so its important to protect it."

He hadn't expected that, the rubbing paused and the spoon paused as well on its way to his mouth. Contemplating for a moment he lowered the bowl and spoon once more, taking a sip of his beer, it would make things a lot easier than Lotus going through the long route in an attempt for him to not recognise the address again tonight and tomorrow.

His gaze glimmered softly at the thought of sleeping in the same place as Lotus once more, it had been a while since he'd managed that. Who was he to let such a chance slip by him again? "That's true...it would make it easier not to have to go through an extended drive tonight and tomorrow morning. They wouldn't mind?" He queried.

<font color="19e65b] The realm of painting was far beyond Lotus's creativity. He admired the steady patience Likereal had for it...he didn't share it. Although, he was sure that there were things he had patience for, which the other male didn't.

"No, well---I'll call and check with them first I suppose," He said voice, sounding oddly light and feathery as he lost his train of thought, his discomfort only getting worse between his legs. He started to eat with a rabid hunger to distract himself.

<font color="#e6c519]Golden eyes focused on Lotus' face, noting the slight difference in his boyfriend's voice and it made him almost positive that something had aroused him. It made him curious just what Lotus had been thinking about for that to happen since he had been behaving since they arrived.

Likereal nodded at the reply and he smiled before he continued drinking the soup, enjoying the taste of it before he put the bowl down and picked up the chopsticks. He held them easily and used them to pick up one of the pot stickers, blowing on it before popping it into his mouth.

"Mmm..." he made a sound of pleasure as he chewed slowly and swallowed. Lotus could make much better food than he could, he missed the other male's cooking. "This is so good..."

<font color="19e65b] "I don't want to sound cliche, but so you know, there is dessert, so try not to fill your hollow leg up too full," Lotus joked lightly, opening the beer and taking a long, casual drink. It was sharp and clear, and cleared his palatte as he shifted from his main dish to the soup. He started to notice that his leg was doing a fast bounce, like too much energy contained in one spot.

He put his hand on his knee to force it still, only to find his foot tingle with the same force...he needed to date more often.

Lotus sat back and pulled out his phone from his pocket, and started to text quickly--before waiting for a response text to come back. Placing it beside him on the table, he looked over at Likereal with a small smile. almost one of nervous humor.
"I'm happy that you're enjoying the food. It's been a while since we last did this, huh?"

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal chuckled softly at the other male's comment and he paused with another pot sticker half way to his mouth. Golden eyes glimmered softly as he took in his boyfriend, "I still have plenty of room, painting works up quite an appetite. I'll be sure to keep room for desert."

His foot moved back to lightly rub across the other male's calf, not entirely missing the other male's unconscious movements and he smiled as he put the food into his mouth and chewed slowly. Watching Lotus as the male texted quickly before putting it away, "Yes unfortunately. It's been a very long time since I've gotten to eat your cooking."

Lik assumed it was probably the owners he was texting and he gazed at him for a few moments before adding, "I wish we did more things together. I miss you."

<font color="19e65b]"Ah...yes, you have been very busy tonight. All that creative energy getting burned and all," Lotus said with a little chuckle, pointing his chopsticks at the Fallen. "What color sheets do you sleep in?" He asked completely out of pattern to the conversation, as though it was their line of discussion all along.

"It's not like you don't kno-----" he stopped and bit his lip, looking down to play with his food and decided against it. Drinking instead again. Well, that wasn't really a lie, now was it? Likereal just didn't know this was his place.

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal smiled and put the chopsticks down in order to pick up his glass, he sipped it for a few moments. Honestly he thought that Lotus likely knew the answer, they had lived and slept together for a while, but he answered anyway, "Usually red or black sheets."

Gazing at him as he lowered the glass and ran his finger across the condensation on the glass he asked, "It's not like I don't know what?"

<font color="19e65b]"Ah...yes, you have been very busy tonight. All that creative energy getting burned and all," Lotus "Not white ever then," Lotus quietly commented, and mused it over. It was true, those were the colors he recalled, but he'd thought in the time from his move, Likereal might have gotten new ones. It helped to get a better mental image.

Likereal's response was too casual. Lotus felt a prickle of wary sneak up his back as he said, "Know how to contact me, of course. And we're both busy with our collective works..."

He trailed off rather quietly. He could show him where he put his devotion and time...but...this...wasn't his damn house.

<font color="#e6c519] "No, not ever unless I'm staying at someone else's place and I don't have a choice," Likereal said softly as he gazed at the other male across from him with a smile. "The only white thing I own, well other than the walls. And that coat I own only because you talked me into buying it. You know red and black are my general colours."

His lips curved into a smile at the other male's response to his words of missing him. Not that he was surprised Lotus didn't echo them back. "The only reason why I would buy different coloured sheets would be if you moved in with me and wanted them. What coloured sheets do you have?"

He lifted his chopsticks and went back to eating his food with enjoyment, "I know how to contact you but you are busy a lot of the time. You don't always answer my texts or phone calls."

<font color="19e65b]Lotus felt the mild reproach, even if it wasn't intended. He knew he was horrible about keeping in contact with the Likereal. But he kept it up. Lotus didn't know why he was so cruel of a tease, but there was something reassuring about seeing a text or phone call despite everything else. Maybe Likereal did love one as undeserving as he...

"Teal," he replied absently, having to recall that color after a moment, his brain traveling two very different paths. "But I change it up pretty often."

<font color="#e6c519]Likereal knew that Lotus was absorbed in the experiments and various things he was doing to do with his orchids and DNA. That he was stretching out and enjoying the freedom he had been denied for so many years, and he didn't want to take it from him but sometimes he wasn't so busy.

"I know that you're enjoying your freedom and that you're busy, its the way life is.." He said softly as he looked up from his food, "I'm not trying to make you feel guilty, but I can't help but miss you at times when...times when it feels like I haven't seen or spoken to you in a few days or a week."

He smiled at that, he had no doubt Lotus' sheets were as flamboyant and ever changing as he was, "I'm not surprised."

<font color="19e65b]"Is....that normal? To miss someone after a few days?" Lotus inquired, his head tipping to the side. He brought the lip of his bottle up and swirled the minimal contents so lonely and low at the bottom. They just didn't hold enough to get a man to a decent buzz.

It made a mild smile appear on is lips as he finished his last pot sticker before putting the chopsticks down on his plate, though to be honest he wasn't sure himself what was normal. It wasn't like he had a lot of experience himself with love or meaningful relationships, nor did he really have anything to compare it to.

<span>    </span> Silently he lifted the glass and finished the last of his beer before lowering the glass back to the coaster. Finally Likèreal answered softly, "I'm not sure. I can't say that I've liked someone enough to miss them for quite a while...I'm not exactly an expert on what is and isn't normal."

<span>    </span> Leaning back slightly in his chair so that it tilted ever so slightly, his foot having moved away from Lotus for him to accomplish it. Honeyed eyes were thoughtful as he contemplated the question further. Was he strange? He wondered running fingers through long ebony strands before he settled once more flat on the ground.

<span>    </span> A bare foot slid back across the male's calf, sliding upwards as he added, "I've spent a lot of time without you over the last few years. Is it so unusual for me to want to spend time with you now? I have tried not to crowd you with my demands. I've stayed away when you are busy, but it doesn't mean I don't miss you."

<span></span> Lotus leaned back some, turning his head to the side as he was forced to consider his own romantic past, or thereof lack of one. Bodies he had slept with, but he'd always held strongly to the hope that at some point in his life, in the time before where he couldn't recall, that he had known a deeper love. The kind that silly books and movies spread everywhere like a disease that people willingly succumbed to.

Was he the strange one? Sure. Nothing about his skills, talents or passions were normal. A technological orchid spliced in the dark depths of a sterile lab and carefully cultivated in artificial lights. His veins were poison. Maybe he should start listening to what Likereal wasn't saying. Did he miss him when they were apart? There was a distinct quiet space in his life that made Lotus almost uncomfortable. Before, he'd lived in that silent space and preferred it. What had Likereal done to him?

"You know, who cares what is normal," he cautiously proclaimed, peeking a look up at the other male through the veil of his bangs.

<font color="#e6c519]<span>    </span> Likèreal let his foot drop back to the floor once more as his gaze turned back to his food. Moving between the rice and stir-fried vegetables as he pretended not to be paying close attention to Lotus as he mulled over the words he had spoken. Despite the fact he was watching him from beneath lowered lashes, it was best to let Lotus think he could think in private.

<span>    </span> He generally didn’t push Lotus anymore, or at least not as much as he used to - though Lotus might disagree. Still he had spent many years chasing Lotus who had always been one step ahead. It had remained a fear of his for quite some time that the other male would vanish one day. Over time it had become less of a fear, perhaps he’d mellowed somewhat now that it wasn’t a constant concern. It allowed him to allow the mortal more space though now he found himself lonely.

<span>    </span> His flirtatious nature wasn’t going to change but it had curbed somewhat now that he was comfortable with Lotus. He could sit here without doing anything outrageous. He’d been well behaved today all things considering and he was still enjoying this time together. Of course, that may have also had to do with the fact that it tended to have the opposite affect with Lotus sending him running. Rejection was a constant companion though he did enjoy flustering Lotus though, he was adorable. Still didn't know if Lotus would ever believe him when he said ‘I love you.’

<span>    </span> Likèreal smiled, a soft laugh escaping him as he lowered the chopsticks. It was true…what was normalcy for them? A fallen angel that was an assassin and an artist, and a human who was spliced with who knows what making him poisonous, originally an assassin and now a scientist. They definitely didn’t fit into ‘normal’ as far as the world was concerned, and they didn't fit any of the perfect neat little boxes that society seemed to like.

<span>    </span> “I suppose you are right, normal is not really a word that relates to us. Plus normalcy is overrated,” he said as he turned honeyed hues towards Lotus once more. Finally putting his lover on the spot, “So you don’t miss me then. I suppose all the science keeps you busy and I am probably not the miss-able sort.”

Lotus felt himself cringe at the directness of Likereal's words. It was too easy to distract himself with the sake cup in front of his seat, letting the rim tip up high so it would cover his expressions. The strange man struggled to capture his feelings rather than let them be thrown into a box and ignored. Likereal had been through too much because of him and this was one of the small ways Lotus could show his respect to the angel.

“I miss you. I get lost in time a lot, but when I pause and there's nothing to do or fix or control and I am left in my quiet apartment all alone....the silence is almost unbearable. Music doesn't feel like a person, it's just noise to fill in the empty space.” He set the cup down with a clink, louder than he had intended and poured himself another shot that he down quickly. Alcohol had a wonderful way of loosening his tight tongue and letting words flow from places other than his head.

There was much more he could say, but none of it seemed to make sense so he sat there awkwardly before giving up and offering the taller man a look of pained apology with a little shrug of a slender shoulder and a little curl of his lips.

“Regular is overrated,” he agreed quietly with a soft laugh. “And if we'd been regular, we'd never have crossed paths. How would your life have changed?”

<font color="#e6c519]<span>    </span> Likèreal was not expecting an honest answer. Or really any answer at all, considering the way he had put Lotus on the spot. For his lover was talented in evasion when it suited him, but the answer he received surprised him all the more for its unexpectedness. Today was full of surprises it seemed.

<span>    </span> Surprise melted away and a look of happiness replaced it, those first three words uttered were enough to make him smile in a way that was reminiscent of the fact that he had once been an angel. To make it a bit more obvious that he was not a human. One would have thought Lotus had said a different set of three words his happiness was so overwhelming. He was happy to know that his presence mattered to Lotus and that he was missed, that his presence was welcome.

<span>    </span> It meant a great deal to the Fallen, considering the fact that it was Likèreal that forced his presence often onto the mortal. As well as the way that Lotus usually guarded his feelings so closely.

<span>    </span> He tucked away those words and the memory within his heart, even as Lotus looked like he wanted to say more but didn’t know what or how...he was so awkward but so cute, he thought quietly. His gaze like liquid honey as he continued to watch Lotus silently before dropping his gaze back to the table as the cup clinked against the surface. “Yes music merely fills the emptiness. My door is always open if you need company, or you only have to ask and I would come in a heartbeat.”

<span>    </span> Likèreal reached across the table, his fingers lightly resting against Lotus’ where they had paused on the cup of sake. His thumb lightly brushing across the back of his hand, his expression becoming more serious as he said softly, “I suppose if I was ‘normal’ perhaps I wouldn’t have fallen, but I cannot imagine my life without you. I doubt that it would be better for your absence. So if that is the price I pay for having you then it is one I pay gladly.”

His smile hurt, Lotus thought as the beaming grin lit Likereal's face, a ghostly reminder of what his boyfriend had once been. Heavenly. There was a pang of sympathy from Lotus that he didn't register as anything more than speculation on the surface- it seemed that neither men were good about speaking of their past.

The light brush of his hand resting on Lotus' as it sat still around the small cup was warm and strong. Just like the man. It made a little shy smile creep along the corner of one side of his lips. But Likereal's words of suffering for him rubbed him a bit wrong, and his brows furrowed. He caught the other's dark wrist with an aggressive flip.

"Nothing in this world is worth what you've gone through. Nothing is a certainty and everyone will let you down, and that small fragment you cling to will cut you deeper each time. Don't say that," he said hotly, his eyes fierce as they clearly pinned his lover to the back hidden parts of his exotic eyes.

It was fear, it was nervousness, it was anxiety and sadness all rolled into a single unexpected outburst from the former assassin and for some strange reason it had the rest of his body shaking with the overwhelming feelings.

Painting Walls [1x1] - Angel Kimmi - 09-08-2015

<font color="#e6c519]<span>    </span> Likèreal was happy. Happier than he could remember being in quite some time, and for such a normal reason too. It had been such a normal day thus far just pottering around the house – even if it was a stranger’s house, painting and just enjoying Lotus’ company. In addition to that he was now having dinner with him, and the other had even admitted to missing him from time to time.

<span>    </span> Ah…but there it was, he thought with a barely audible sigh. As quickly as it had come the slight smile faded and was replaced by furrowed eyebrows, and an obviously displeased look. He’d rubbed Lotus the wrong way somehow once again. His lover was so prickly, but more than that he felt sometimes he had an uncanny ability to choose the wrong words at times like these. Only with Lotus.

<span>    </span> He kept his hand where it rested against Lotus’ on the small sake cup, not retreating even as his wrist was captured in a sudden shift. Golden eyes shifting to stare at their hands even as digits dug into his wrist. Heated words rained down on him from his lover. He felt the tremor in the fingers that gripped his wrist and his gaze moved to meet Lotus’.

<span>    </span> Pinned by those eyes and the tumult of emotions within them. Their pasts were almost a taboo subject. Something that was always there but almost never breached in conversation, because there was never really a ‘good’ time to discuss such painful events.

<span>    </span> “Perhaps I was unkind in my choice of words.” Likèreal said gently as he reached out with his other hand to rest against Lotus’ even as it gripped his other wrist. Thumb moving in soothing circles as he admitted quietly, “Since I would never say that your own suffering was alright, just because it means that I am able to be with you now. Even though I am very grateful that I am with you right now.”

<span>    </span> There was still bitterness, anger and hurt that he retained from that time. False accusations and painful memories. His repugnance for white and for Angels. But it had dulled with the years, more so in the last few years. With Lotus. For all his prickliness he was still like a balm.

<span>    </span> “Nothing is guaranteed in life.” He acknowledged even as he continued gazing quietly at Lotus wondering whether this would soothe or further irritate him. “It is true that my exile is one of a few truly terrible times in my life. But having you in my life now is so fulfilling, and it makes me happy.”
