He walked slowly, enjoying the warmth and comfort of the action as well as the ease he felt in Lotus’ company. It was times like these that he could pretend that everything was fine, that it was a relatively normal relationship, and that the other male would care if he up and vanished.
It had been a long time coming and they’d already gone through quite a few trials just to get to this point. But it was comfortable and it was in moments like these where he could forget that even now his boyfriend kept him at arm’s length at times.
As they approached the restaurant things seemed to become more elegant. There was a lack of graffiti and the sensation of elegance in the soft music that drifted from the tinted doors, as well as an obvious underlying feeling of money despite it being less than a dozen blocks away from Lotus’ apartment. You could see it in the cars and the clothes that those same people were wearing – they themselves perhaps didn’t quite fit the ideal but this was not the first time they had come here. Despite any assumptions on appearances he had quite a bit of money himself.
The Fallen chuckled softly at Lotus’ words and turned honeyed hues down towards him at the muttered comments about his cooking. Likèreal removed his shades, slipping them into a pocket as they approached the door he pushed it open with ease, allowing Lotus through before following him, still holding his hand. The inside was decadent without being pretentious or overbearing with pale walls and wood, mixed with the gold and white and red lantern like pendant lights. Only one wall was painted black while a motif of dragon engraved in gold, it was on the far wall.
There were hints of extravagance in the crystal and silver, in the leather bound menus that were engraved with the same gold dragon, and the overall elegance that spoke of money. There were long wooden tables and booths with plush red chairs, as well as a sushi bar past those with a rotating system with plush red stools.
The live music causing him to dip his head close to Lotus’ ear so he could still be heard, “Cooking never interested me enough to put the time and energy into learning anything complex. If I thought it would tempt you out of your apartment more often I would try cooking lessons, but it is not all that interesting to spend hours cooking for oneself.”
