Golden Shadows [1x1] - Angel Kimmi - 06-28-2015

<font color="cc28f5]Lotus stretched and lounged back in his chair. Hovering between three computer screens, he watched the rolling letters scroll through the sequencing on one, while the other two monitored and analyzed. The test subject was a blue-ringed octopus designed orchid. Serenely it sat beneath the sun light, pampered and oblivious to the small sensors measuring it’s every photosynthesis.

His small apartment wasn’t much, but it was a start. An old storage building open for renting to loaded, privacy seeking tenants. He already had plans to tear down some more walls and the ceiling above—he wanted the space and a loft. It hadn’t been an easy adjustment period. The assassin had forced himself to blossom and found himself enjoying elements of life he never thought to. His primary expenses were his equipment and his clothes, and he was in the middle of designing a special home for his love.

Lotus felt a small corner of his lip quirk. Well…there were many types of loves. He’d let his hair grow long, but still enjoyed the spontaneous, drastic cuts and colors switches as before. Currently it was a silvery white, with turquoise streaks. The soft strands were tied back into a bun, spiky with the ends jutting out, and held by a make-shift hair stick—a pen. He’d let his skin take a break from the tanned look, instead going for a softer caramel kissed color, and they made his violet eyes all the more striking.

Those same violet eyes glided over the frames of his glasses, to stare at the clock. It was time to put an end to his lovely subject for the day, and put her away carefully with the few, precious other plants he was experimenting with. Hybrid plants. All the sweet in scent, and more beautiful in color. Lotus let the computers continue to run their DNA sequencing, they’d be at it all week long, and rolled his chair back. Quickly getting to his feet, the sound of his heeled leather boots clicked audibly in against the polished wood floor beneath him, and the soft pulsing of techo rock helped him put a bit of a sway in his hips.

In many ways, he felt like one of his precious plants---fragile and yet all the more brilliant for it. Pampered and sheltered, he gave them constant love and affection, crooning and singing to help them grow. Perhaps that’s where Likèreal fit into it all, he thought as he washed his face in the sink, toweling it dry before re-applying the thick kohl liner under his eyes. He traced the upper part of the lid half way with an orange liner, enjoying the bright contrasts.

He then stared into the mirror as his attention focused less on the face and the man on the inside. That cold bastard he was, still resided inside of him, he could feel the shifting of those frigid shadows now and then. But they seemed more and more like a fading memory as time passed. And in that blankness, a new chapter had sprouted and begun to fill in, hesitant at first, and then more demanding and greedy like a weed.

The baby doll t-shirt with the red and black neko, with the stripped black and white hoodie under, coupled with the form-fitting black jeans and the burgundy stained leather boots were enough. He grabbed the long trench coat from the closet as he glided to the door, pausing on his way to whisper a little kiss to the golden beauty sleeping in his little curled up spot, still digesting his last meal.

A knock at the door told Lotus he was late, but there was never anything wrong with being fashionably late, was there?

<font color="#e6c519]Likèreal honestly would have preferred for Lotus to live with him, he'd even asked him once to do so but the other male wouldn't have it. Deep down he knew enough about him to know that the other male wanted and needed his own space, Lotus had spent so much time under the whims of others without freedom that he'd had no choice but to cave into the request and he hadn't mentioned it again. After all - Lotus could look after himself.

He could hear the music that filled the other male's space and the Fallen stood at the door, leaning his hip against the wooden doorjamb as he waited. He hoped that the other male wasn't so engrossed in his plants that he hadn't heard the doorbell - since his partner loved his privacy so much he hadn't managed to swindle a key out of him yet - but he still had his ways to get in if necessary. More likely than not, Lotus was probably finishing up getting ready.

Pulling his mobile phone out of his pocket he flicked it open, looking down the list until he found Lotus' number and pressed the button. Ringing the other male's mobile phone he could hear the ringtone melding into the music as he waited for Lotus to either make his way to the door or answer the phone.

Likèreal hadn't changed much over the last few months, unlike Lotus he didn't tend to change his look that often. The long ebony strands brushed past his waist now and his skin was still a light golden brown, gold eyes were hidden beneath dark shades. Lotus had gained some input into his wardrobe however that was about as far as it went - he was wearing a silvery blue shirt that had a design of darker blue butterflies across the middle of it, over the top he was wearing the white trench coat that the other male had talked him into buying. In addition he was wearing dark blue jeans and black boots.

<font color="cc28f5]Lotus peeked through the peep hole, having to get on his tiptoes to get a good angle. Just who he expected. He opened the door by first undoing the glide latch and unlocking it, fussing as he exited in a hurry into the empty hall and into Likèreal’s arms.

It wasn't that Lotus didn't want Likèreal in his apartment, but the secrets there in gave him a sense of delight and wicked pleasure. It was stupid, he knew. But it was one of those little things on that written list at the bottom of his underwear drawer that made the difference between being alive and being the living dead.

"I wasn't horribly late--I hope you weren't horribly early," he started to say, twisting back to lock his apartment up safely. The soft snicking sound as the security system, higher than you'd expect even on a place like this, arming.

<font color="#e6c519]At the sound of the door behind opened Likèreal snapped his phone shut, cutting off the call and slipping the object into his jacket pocket. However faint amusement glimmered in the golden gaze as he reached up and pushed the sunglasses up on top of his head as Lotus pushed himself into the space between himself and the door prior to pulling it shut behind him.

Not that Likèreal minded being in such close confines with the other male. If anything it was something that he enjoyed and he wrapped an arm lightly around Lotus' waist before his other hand brushed along his jawline, tilting his head upwards so that he could brush his lips softly against Lotus' in a soft kiss.

Pulling his head back with a light smile he fully took in his partner for the day, bemusement glimmered in the golden gaze as he took in the newest change in his appearance. The soft caramel skin and the violet gaze was an almost familiar combination especially with the glasses that were pushed up on top of his head. However the silvery white coloured strands with turquoise streaks here and there, even pulled back wasn't at all what he was used to, "Mm...you look different every time I see you..."

<font color="cc28f5]“Different is good. Usually?” Lotus inquired, tipping his head up to look at the other male as he finished securing his little safe home, and the warmth that had spread from his lips to his chest lingered from their gentle kiss.

Long fingers tipped with golden nails enveloped in fur lined arm warmers, digits exposed and dangling fur-balls bounced madly as the white haired male took the darker man’s hands and led him to the cage elevator. Opening the grate door, turning around and impatiently waiting, Lotus slide the metal wires shut again, and punched the button for the first floor.

He wasn’t too high up on the warehouse floor, but all around it looked drastically ghetto and worn down. Faded brick walls to cement covers, and wild colored graffiti laced across the walls in no regard to patterns or aesthetics. Likèreal hadn’t been terribly pleased with the rough neighborhood Lotus has declared to be perfect. There were shootings outside, and violence of shouting matches, squealing tires of cars peeling suddenly into traffic from the sidewalk and pickpockets and thugs prowling after innocents. A place where people put their heads down low and didn’t make eye contact with anyone else, and if someone else had a problem…well, that was their problem. Not yours.

Lotus didn’t seem likely to be amongst such a rough crowd, yet it was very evident how much he’d thrived in the dark soils in this block. He felt bright, vibrant and alive. The common evils all around made a striking contrast to just how good he felt.

The metal elevator whined as the engines and ropes started to pull and drop, the cage shifting a little on its way down to the first floor. “Likèreal, I am quite famished. I made reservations, I hope you don’t mind?” He asked with a bit of a grimace of sympathy, waiting for the doors to open and everything to stop moving. “Sakura Sins is always packed this time of night.”

Golden Shadows [1x1] - Angel Kimmi - 06-28-2015

<font color="#e6c519]Likèreal smiled as the other male continued securing his home. The Fallen couldn't help but wonder what the inside looked like since the other male kept it all very secretive, but he'd had to trust the other male that he'd taken appropriate precautions for the neighborhood he lived in - which in his eyes was less than safe. However the other male was a trained assassin and could look after himself, but it didn't stop him from worrying. He felt fingers slip between his own and he brushed his thumb lightly against Lotus' hand as they walked towards the elevator and waited for it to open. "Different is good, though sometimes I feel like I'm dating a different person every week."

As they made their way downwards Likèreal was reminded of the first time he'd seen the place, it had set off warning bells and he'd been sorely tempted to bundle the male up and keep him far away from it. This place that reminded the Fallen of the worst side of humanity and their fragility, even Lotus...but the other male would not have forgiven him for that. He could remember the argument - Lotus being adamant about cheap rent, being able to do what he wanted to the place and that he wasn't afraid of them. His own that relating to the fact that he could provide him a much better environment for the same cost, all of it boiling down to his own fears about Lotus' humanity. On top of that he'd put his foot in his mouth and mentioned the fact that Lotus had died. Likèreal had never been especially good at lying or keeping secrets for long periods of time. It had led to him being more truthful about what had happened.

Golden eyes shifted down to look at Lotus, pulling himself back from the memory the smile re-appeared and he reached up to lightly brush the silvery-white strands behind one ear. "It's fine, I know that you enjoy going there and as long as I'm with you I don't really mind where we eat," he stated as he leaned down slightly to rest his forehead against Lotus'. "Did you have a good day?"

<font color="cc28f5]Wicked humor sparked at that, and Lotus allowed himself an indulgent grin, “New boyfriend every week? Makes you sound like a pimp, dear,” he crooned playfully, patting his hand to the dark haired man’s cheek teasingly, warm skin, leather and fluffy fur. He then bumped his hip against Likèreal as he opened the elevator for them both, bowing for the other to leave first.

“And we both know you’re more attentive than that,” he added, sweetening the tart. His sense of humor had always been dark, but he’d soon found that when he wasn’t pretending to be someone else, it tended to ring oddly or at a bad time. It was a work in progress.

“But yes, it was mostly successful. The stands are still configuring themselves out, and I discovered that I’m not very good at sculpting, but pottery making is most soothing. How was your day?” He inquired, not exactly sure how the immortal spent most of his time these days, now that they no longer lived together.

They walked casually, arm in arm to the special sushi restaurant a mile away. It was always dark and closed looking, but inside it was plush, expensive and catered to. Only the people who knew about it, came. It was just one of the cities many secrets that Lotus was unraveling. “And you can have an opinion about where we eat. You can have an opinion about anything you want. It’s not necessary to always agree with me,” he said casually, wondering if that would rub wrong.

<font color="#e6c519]Likèreal’s lips quirked as Lotus bowed, stepping out of the lift first still keeping hold of the other male's hand as he exited letting it shift behind him to keep hold. He was enjoying the warmth of the other male's hand in his and didn't wish to let go. As they moved down the street he lightly swung their hands before saying, "Yes it does make me sound like an incorrigible flirt and playboy...and I don't mind people thinking it if it was true but as you say I'm a very attentive boyfriend."

Amused he looked down into those familiar violet eyes as they moved down the street and towards Lotus' favourite sushi place. "My flamboyant partner who likes changing his looks weekly is giving me a bad name."

He was interested, and it showed in the golden gaze as he listened to Lotus talk about his day. He didn't understand everything the male did and he didn't doubt the retired assassin didn't tell him everything either. But he had gained numerous vases full of flowers and pots throughout his house since Lotus got his new place - he'd actually managed not to kill most of them. "Well you don't have to be good at everything. As for me - the usual, I've been drawing some more landscapes and tinkering with mechanics mostly."

Likèreal had been doing those things but what he didn't mention was the fact he had finally resumed in a small part taking his mercenary and assassination jobs once more. He'd retired for a while, not wanting to leave Lotus but once he moved out he'd found he'd had more time than he really knew what to do with. He hadn't taken on anything serious and they were all close to home assignments, the most recent one had been to steal a gem a few cities away.

"And of course I don't have to agree with you, I argue with you all the time over the important things. Food isn't something that I would fight over, considering wherever you want to eat will probably serve things better than my own cooking. Though honestly I think I've been improving..."

<font color="cc28f5]Lotus put up a hand in defence as he said bluntly, "You're bad reputation that you have is all your own doing. I just spice it up with some romance. But we both know you prefer your bad boy reputation," he told Likèreal with a raise of a wry eyebrow. Pushing the glasses up the bridge of his nose with his middle finger he let his fingers play absently with some of his hair.

Lotus nodded his head, taking his turn to listen to Likèreal’s adventures. Drawing and mechanical tinkering. Not too far off from what he was doing while they lived that short time together, but Lotus found it hard to envision him doing with all the free time he surely must have now. Lotus himself was constantly finding new things to do, or things that needed his attention for a little longer. His primary health concern, when he wasn't being an extreme vegetarian, was his lack of sleep. He'd only sleep a few hours at a time before sleep eluded him and he had a heavy desire to jump out of bed.

Caffeine had become the assassin's new best friend. And he knew that if he wasn't careful though, the drugs so easily sold on the streets below his home, or in the dirty side alleys to the side, might become more than just a moment's consideration.

Lucky for him, he hated not being in complete control of his body.

He leaned his head to Likèreal and rested it on his shoulder as they walked. He was warm and comfortable. He'd lost track of what Likèreal had said, lost in the moments that seemed to pass through his fingers like that sometimes as he thought, so he lightly carried the subject on. "Food is something you enjoy--why do you seem surprised to being better at cooking. Not...that you haven't had a lot of time to perfect such a science," he added with a mutter under his breath.

The dark tinted door was shut, and the delicate store sign was painted on a board above the entrance. A young couple laughed their way out of the restaurant, posh and expensive name brands on their bodies and in their hands as a sexy sports car was brought to them via valet service.

Live music spilled out the door with the couple, a lingering taste of the exotic expenses to be found inside.

<img style="avatar" src="http://i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/Kim_Irvine/banner3_1.png" style="max-width:35%;float:left;margin:0 18px;]<span>    </span><font color="#e6c519]<span>    </span> Likèreal smiled softly as Lotus pushed the slender frames back onto his nose, the action reminding him of the very beginning of their relationship before the head rested lightly against his shoulder. He walked slowly, enjoying the warmth and comfort of the action as well as the ease he felt in Lotus’ company. It was times like these that he could pretend that everything was fine, that it was a relatively normal relationship, and that the other male would care if he up and vanished.

<span>    </span> It had been a long time coming and they’d already gone through quite a few trials just to get to this point. But it was comfortable and it was in moments like these where he could forget that even now his boyfriend kept him at arm’s length at times.

<span>    </span> As they approached the restaurant things seemed to become more elegant. There was a lack of graffiti and the sensation of elegance in the soft music that drifted from the tinted doors, as well as an obvious underlying feeling of money despite it being less than a dozen blocks away from Lotus’ apartment. You could see it in the cars and the clothes that those same people were wearing – they themselves perhaps didn’t quite fit the ideal but this was not the first time they had come here. Despite any assumptions on appearances he had quite a bit of money himself.

<span>    </span> The Fallen chuckled softly at Lotus’ words and turned honeyed hues down towards him at the muttered comments about his cooking. Likèreal removed his shades, slipping them into a pocket as they approached the door he pushed it open with ease, allowing Lotus through before following him, still holding his hand. The inside was decadent without being pretentious or overbearing with pale walls and wood, mixed with the gold and white and red lantern like pendant lights. Only one wall was painted black while a motif of dragon engraved in gold, it was on the far wall.

<span>    </span> There were hints of extravagance in the crystal and silver, in the leather bound menus that were engraved with the same gold dragon, and the overall elegance that spoke of money. There were long wooden tables and booths with plush red chairs, as well as a sushi bar past those with a rotating system with plush red stools.

<span>    </span> The live music causing him to dip his head close to Lotus’ ear so he could still be heard, “Cooking never interested me enough to put the time and energy into learning anything complex. If I thought it would tempt you out of your apartment more often I would try cooking lessons, but it is not all that interesting to spend hours cooking for oneself.”

Golden Shadows [1x1] - twilightrot - 07-19-2015

<img style="max-width:40%;float:left;margin:0 18px;" src="http://i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/Kim_Irvine/sideart.png" style="avatar]<span> </span><font color="cc28f5] The exotic place was pumping with life tonight, and Lotus was grateful for the special reservations. Aside from hassling the man at the front or offering suitable bribe, it would have been hours of waiting in a lobby to be accepted in. Lotus enjoyed coming here to people watch while he nursed his toxic cocktails and nibbled delicately at the freshly created sushi offered at the bar.

Likereal leaned down and as he spoke Lotus considered again how many other life forms were in the world different from the human race. "I can be bribed on occasion, but try not to think of it like you're setting bait for prey. I just don't know when you're around or not. What are you doing with all your free time?" He inquired, hopping up into a tall bar chair and spun a bit to settle his elbows on the rail while he waited for Likereal to follow suit.

Golden Shadows [1x1] - Angel Kimmi - 07-19-2015

<span>    </span>

<font color="#e6c519]<span>    </span> The idea of having a job in a kitchen or serving in a restaurant caused a smile to appear as they made their way down towards the sushi area hand-in-hand. He wasn’t self-conscious in the least, other people’s opinions didn’t matter to him, especially when it came to Lotus.

<span>    </span> Likèreal hadn’t ever put any real effort into learning to cook, not beyond the basics he’d learned from one of his original acquaintances. That was enough when the majority of the time you were only feeding yourself since the frequency of his guests were sporadic at best. Still, perhaps it was something he could look into. He could go to some cooking school in his spare time – another hobby to distract him from his boredom and loneliness. It might help giving him another job he could actually do successfully other than artist, tech, bartender or bodyguard.

<span>    </span> Stopping at the sushi bar he followed suit, slipping onto one of the stools next to Lotus before recapturing Lotus’ hand, bringing it up towards his lips and brushed them lightly over his knuckles. Releasing his hand once more as he settled an elbow onto the bench top.

<span>    </span> Likèreal wasn’t certain of that. His boyfriend tended to get absorbed for days on end, forgetting the rest of the world existed and resenting the things that impeded his work. But it was true he would enjoy having company at a meal on occasion, as well as just seeing his boyfriend more frequently. Honeyed eyes sought out a waitress so that he could order a drink, motioning at a young woman before turning back to Lotus. “I would not refer to you as prey Lotus, and you have my phone number. You could just call or text if you want to make sure I am home or available.”

<span>    </span> To be honest the Fallen would very much enjoy that. The idea of Lotus initiating contact rather than him always feeling like he was vying for attention and interrupting. Lotus was very protective of his privacy and freedom, and when one knew his history it was understandable to be certain…but sometimes it made him feel lonely.

<span>    </span> "What have I been doing…" Likèreal’s expression pensive as thoughts shifted at the question and he was thoughtful. He got bored and restless, funnelling the restless energy into something productive rather than ending up on Lotus’ doorstop was a bit hit and miss. Still there were things he hadn’t mentioned, dangers and truths – like the fact he was doing small jobs again, and that his current location was ceasing to be the safest place. That he might need to move soon. He wasn't sure why he avoided telling his boyfriend, it wasn't as if Lotus would worry about him or tell him to stop. Perhaps that was why he didn't tell him. He wanted to pretend that Lotus cared enough to worry about him if he found out, that just maybe he’d be important enough to relocate if it came to that…

<span>    </span> Lotus was right. He had always had a reputation and one that was not overly positive in most perspectives. But it was probably best not for anyone to know that he was particularly serious about one person anyway. It was probably best for them both that others thought that he was still skipping from one lover to another. It was safer…

Golden Shadows [1x1] - twilightrot - 08-15-2015

Lotus quietly waited for Likereal to respond, while he slipped the house chopsticks from its paper wrapping and snapped them in half. Rubbing them to rid the possibility of splinters, he snagged a small plate that rolled by with a fresh sushi combination. It was all arranged methodically and efficiently, the tang of soy sauce as he poured its dark content into a small container. Spicy pea sized green wasabi and heaps of pickeled ginger all ready for his pleasure.

Tapping the ends of the sticks on the table, he reached over and snatched a sliced piece up and offered it to Likereal first, feeding him the first bite.

And that was when he noticed the slightly vague look on his face, and Lotus felt his eyes narrow with suspicion. That look never bode well. To keep Likereal off, he just got sweeter and smiled more warmly, leaning forward as he stroked the other man's strong calf with his booted-foot.

“Yes, what have you been up to, dear?” He crooned.

Golden Shadows [1x1] - Angel Kimmi - 08-17-2015

<span>    </span><font color="#e6c519]The look in the golden eyes was unfocused, distracted as he stared absently towards the rotating plates of sushi. His distraction giving away more than he intended. There were few times where the Fallen was for a loss of words. Even fewer instances of him being preoccupied whilst within Lotus’ company. Still Likèreal automatically opened his mouth as the food was presented to him. Leaning forward slightly to take the morsel from the chopsticks before he even registered that Lotus was feeding him. Chewing and swallowing as he mimicked the same actions – slipping a pair of chopsticks from the paper wrapping and snapping them in half with practiced ease.

<span>    </span> Inhaling softly when the booted foot slid along his calf, causing instinctive awareness. Caught by those warm violet eyes and soft smile as his lover repeated the question. Still his thoughts were preoccupied. Violet… that was the colour his eyes had been at the beginning wasn’t it?

<span>    </span> “Sorry, I’ve been having trouble sleeping lately. I suppose it is catching up with me and making me a little unfocused this evening.” Likèreal apologised as he reached out with his free hand, fingers sliding along Lotus’ jawline and brushing the silky strands before drawing his hand back with a smile before lowering it to rest on top of one of Lotus’ to squeeze lightly.

<span>    </span> Words slid from his lips easily almost a lie, but not. He did indeed have issues sleeping at times due to nightmares but more recently it was the worries that weighted heavily on his shoulders. His doubts and uncertainties. Trouble was just around the corner, it always was and the signs were there. It was coming and he was being selfish.

<span>    </span> He pulled a plate of Tuna Nigiri from the belt that moved in front of them, sliding it between them. Collecting one piece in his chopsticks before dipping it into the soy sauce before offering the food to the other male, “I have been burning off energy with and keeping busy for the most part. It stops me from turning up on your door step more often and interrupting your work. Sketching, meditation, mechanics, and work… mostly keeping out of trouble. What about you?”

Golden Shadows [1x1] - twilightrot - 09-01-2015

Lotus wasn't finished and refused to lean back casually, offering Likereal space to think to breathe. Instead he pressed forward even closer, a subtle movement that wouldn't distract Likereal too much so he'd keep talking his half-distracted way. The fact that he wasn't getting enough sleep worried Lotus for a few reasons. He assumed the man wouldn't need a lot of sleep compared to the normal human, but surely he must need some. And so that meant his body was getting even less.

He flipped his head slightly to bounce his bangs to the left again, out of his eyes as he took the bite of sushi offered to him with a sensual absence, his lips sucking at the tip of Likereal's chopsticks before they were pulled away.

"Mmm, sounds like a recipe for a bad boy to me," he teased ever so lightly. His feet continued to caress his lover, feeling the curve of his firm muscles before the tip of boot stopped to rest between the other's thighs to rest on the very edge of his chair.

Golden Shadows [1x1] - Angel Kimmi - 09-09-2015

</span><font color="#e6c519]Golden eyes lingered on Lotus’ lips in response to the way the other male had accepted the sushi he’d offered. There had been something almost sexual about those movements. It was uncommon for his lover to be so proactive and accommodating…so sensual. But not enough for it to derail his thoughts.

<span>    </span> Still he knew that trouble was just around the corner, it always was and the signs were there. It was coming and he was being selfish. If he loved Lotus he should be thankful no one had realised he was serious about one lover. He should take this opportunity to disappear before Lotus got caught in the cross-fire. To put Lotus’ needs and safety first. If he loved him isn’t that what he should do?

<span>    </span> Yet he still hesitated…

<span>    </span> “I suppose that is true…it’s what I am after all.” His breath caught in his throat momentarily as the leather covered foot continued to slide along his calf before settling between his thighs. Drawing him once more from the daze of distraction back to meet Lotus’ violet orbs. Ah but he was lovely, he thought as he brought a piece of sushi to his own lips.

<span>    </span> “Tell me Lotus… would it bother you if I was gone?” He asked quietly, his gaze never wavered from Lotus’ and while his smile was mildly self-mocking there was a hint of vulnerability within his eyes. It was a sudden question. Just one fragment of what he had been contemplating.

Golden Shadows [1x1] - twilightrot - 09-15-2015

Lotus indulged himself with a tip to the side with his head, his lover of spirit confusing him with unexpected responses and body language. Likereal had changed much since they had first met- he wasn't grabby and aggressive anymore and in many ways it made Lotus relaxed and comfortable to approach at his own pace. He had the memory of the last bits of his first life, before, knowing he had a woman he loved, but the love wasn't anything but a coolant to his inhuman heart. After that, he played the game and it had felt like every piece of humanity he possessed had been stripped away from him, starting from the inside and festering outward.

Likereal was as much a bad boy as Lotus, but in many ways when everything in his life was still and quiet he realized there was jealousy of the dark man. His boot gently stroked the other's inner thigh before slipping down between his legs to rest his foot under Likereal's member, bouncing it lightly.

"Bother? I suppose it would depend on how long and why. Are you tired of me, your boyfriend with the 25 different looks?" He asked it as a tease before looking into his golden eyes and realized that this question wasn't just off-handed. This was a very serious question indeed and Lotus felt a tap of chill along his spine. A sense of foreboding.

Golden Shadows [1x1] - Angel Kimmi - 09-19-2015

<span>    </span><font color="#e6c519] Likèreal chewed his food, wondering silently whether it had been a mistake to ask that question. He could always laugh it off. Explain it away as being clingy and flirtatious, of wanting to know if Lotus missed his presence when he wasn’t around despite the fact that it really mattered. Play it off that he was just curious rather than the actual mix of emotions he currently suffered from.

<span>    </span> He felt less need to chase Lotus and force his company onto him now that he was not so paranoid that the assassin would vanish in thin air. It had taken time for him to grow confident enough to not fear Lotus’ periods of silence and solitude. To fear that Lotus would leave him as he had already done in the past, even if it had been done for all of their benefit. Sometimes even now it left him feeling lonely, though he was not always successful in keeping himself in check.

<span>    </span> Sometimes he wanted so desperately to hold him and not to let go…

<span>    </span> A sharp exhale escaped from Likèreal in response to the foot nestling between his thighs and beneath his member, eyes closing briefly as it was jostled. Maybe Lotus was trying to kill him with sexual frustration, he thought with a mild smile as his eyes reopened and his attention focused on his lover. “I do not believe I could ever be tired of you Lotus…even if you didn’t have 25 different looks.”

<span>    </span> Golden eyes met violet as the Fallen thought over how was the best way to continue the conversation without giving too much away. Silently he struggled before finally saying, “I… was just curious if you’d miss me if I was gone for an extended period of time is all.”

Lotus beamed at his response, finally easing up a bit away from Likereal to give him a little space to breath, even if he leaned back and got his boot at a better angle to stroke the other's inner thigh. He raised a trimmed eyebrow artfully at that, not reassured at all by Likereal's statement. "If not tired, then perhaps something else? You have someone else on the side, don't you?" He teased.

But at that his body tensed and a bit of a fear wiggled into his slowly thawing heart. Was Likereal going to finally ditch him after all this time for someone else? Was this more than what it sounded like.

"I'd ask where the company was going to send you, but we both know that you don't have an official job so I can't surprise you at your hotel when you get there. Why would you be leaving?" He inquired, intently looking down at his empty sake cup before filling it, a heavy silence filling the table while he got them two new plates of sushi.

<span>    </span><font color="#e6c519] Honeyed eyes were dazed slightly at the beaming smile that came in his direction. Likèreal wouldn’t deny that he would be just as satisfied if Lotus had one look and stuck with it. Occasionally he found it unsettling the frequency in which his lover changed his appearance, especially if it was unexpected. But if it made Lotus happy he wouldn’t take it away from him. It had taken such a long time for him to gain the ability to make choices. Some semblance of a normal life…

<span>    </span> It was something he didn’t want to deprive him of, perhaps that was the reason for his hesitation.

<span>    </span> A soft sound slipped between parted lips as the leather slid along sensitive flesh though at the question his gaze focused once more. As the heavy silence filled the air between them he realised with some surprise that Lotus was serious. He could sense the tension in his boyfriend as he went through the motions of collecting sushi and filling up the cup with sake.

<span>    </span> It would be easier wouldn’t it…to pretend that it was something as simple as that. If it was anyone else, but not Lotus. His heart ached just at the idea of lying, of saying he had someone else. Likèreal hadn’t gone through everything just to lie to him now…to alienate him that severely.

<span>    </span> Even if it would keep him safe…

<span>    </span> “I haven't looked at or touched another since I fell in love with you. I do not have anyone on the side.” The Fallen promised as he reached out, fingers wrapping around Lotus’ as he drew his hand upwards. Pressing his lips against the back of his hand in a soft line of kisses before looking up from beneath dark lashes, voice low. “It is not like I want to leave you, but I can only stay in one place for so long before people notice…”
