Biographical Information:
Renly was convicted of voluntary manslaughter after his sister Elison confessed that she had been raped by a cousin. When Renly confronted the perpetrator the confrontation turned violent and ended in Renly beating the man to death in a fit of passionate outrage. At the time of the sentencing the Covenant unveiled a new line of recruitment whereby those convicted of capital offences, such as murder, could serve their sentence militarily. At 17 years old Renly was sentenced to a 25 year compulsory service with the Covenant’s Special Reconnaissance Corps. He began serving on his 18th birthday after spending 10 months in prison.
