Light sacrilege is common enough in fiction that I don't think anyone will mind.
Why do old ladies always sound like yowling cats? I used to take care of my great-grandmother, and the dog bit her once and it took me a minute to figure out what the fuck happened because it sounded like someone stepped on a cat. Still, it sounds like you made an effort, you did what you could.
