Grilka had no plans for the next shift or so, and so eir plans were what they almost always were: find entertainment.
Farendajo was the easiest place – there was always Xotll, and she was always happy for the littlest scraps of attention. Even if she pretended to be put out when ey started pulling her clothes off in the middle of the bar. So many fun noises, though.
More often than not, checking in at Farendajo revealed lingering hopefuls, wanting something but unsure how to go about asking. Some of them were clever enough to ask Xotll about em, so she could send em a message, but yet others were so useless they could do nothing but sit around with a vague notion that something might happen to them.
And something did, when ey noticed them. Those ones could be the most fun, really, turning all kinds of mortified colors. Shy things all beside themselves with needs they were terrible at expressing.
Anyway. There'd be something to amuse em, regardless of the details.
Ey came in through the back, rose up to wrap around the ductwork along the ceiling. Ey moved along it, scanning the bar from above. Few people ever thought to look up. It could be a fun way to investigate what all was going on.
Boring, boring, boring.
Ey paused above the bar, looking down at it. Someone alone – they didn't look shy, not dressed like that. They almost looked like they'd dressed to please em, but those kind usually knew to make appointments. How suspicious. How interesting.
Slowly eir tail moved closer on the ductwork, giving em enough slack to move downward behind them, darting tongues to taste the air. The slender chains around eir horns, eir limbs, eir chest, were all so delicate as to make no noise at all.
That did not smell like most human girls.
Eir tail gave up more slack, enough that ey could bend eir torso into an upright position, sliding up sideways to lean on the bar with one elbow. Ey tapped the bar for Xotll to bring em a drink, and darted tongues at the stranger again, this time coming much closer to licking their shoulder.
