<font color="9ce619]Saydri felt cool fingers brush lightly against his skin, skimming over his stomach and abs. He wondered silently why she seemed so cold. He had always been warmer than most but, he didn't think he'd ever felt someone naturally feel so cool to touch - natural because Seri didn't shudder and tremble as mortals tended to when they were cold.
It seemed she sought out warmth instinctively, but didn't actually need it.
He smiled at the soft purrs that came from the woman, enjoying the sound of the quiet rumble within the silence of the room. Seri reminded him of a cat. There was something about her that hinted to something more - even if he hadn't noticed the purring or her cool skin. Something that echoed familiarity. He sensed something lingering within her that he couldn't pinpoint, but then he didn't try too hard.
It was not for him to know or analyze. Humanity was too caught up in their own importance, assuming that they were the only sentient race. He would never be 'normal' as far as humanity was concerned, something that he had long ago accepted. Even for those who lacked their differences, normality was an impossible concept... how did one categorize a nation of individuals?
His grey gaze focusing once more on her eyes as she spoke to him. He supposed he should have thought the question through better. Few places would be open so late at night. He had forgotten that she had skipped time quite a few hours, he had to keep reminding himself. "I do not mind."
Automatically one hand settled on the bench behind him and one on the woman's waist as she leaned against him. He felt the curves that slotted against his harder body, the cool soft lips against his cheek before she nuzzled into him. Very much reminding him once more of a cat. His words were simple and quiet, "Easier than finding somewhere open at this time of night. I will ask another evening."
Saydri brushed his lips across her the soft silvery strands before picking the woman up into his arms bridal style, his arms coming under her knees as she nestled against him. It seemed natural to do so rather than make her move. It didn't cross his mind that perhaps he should ask her, rather than just carry her around as he pleased. Still his cheek nestled against the top of her head as he headed towards the door that held the kitchen, using his shoulder to push open the swinging doors.
Gray eyes adjusting perfectly to the difference in light as the door closed behind them, allowing him to find the light switch to the left. Using his elbow he flicked it on flooding the room with light. It was large, larger than most kitchens though it was understandable considering Ruka had a hundred or more guest rooms - even if they weren't all filled, they had the potential to be.
<font color="199ce6]"Then, pasta and-...ah-..." Her words were cut off as he lifted her up. Hands grasping his shoulders to keep from falling. Not that he wobbled or gave pause when he lifted her, but the fact that he had suddenly made her thing he had seen something she did not.
Bright silvered glacial blue eyes looked around the room, looking for that which he saw and she didn't. It took her but a few moments to realize there was nothing there. Then-...why did her lift her?
She was not one to be pulled about. Being lifted, held, pulled, moved or maneuvered like someone's play thing. And had it been anyone else, they would find a few years of their life missing. Important or not, people did not like to lose so much time. One would think that her bite would be physical, maybe a maim or missing limb. But that was not Seri's style. If anything, that was her creatures. It was inside her to do it, but not her first choice. Like the weeping angels in the Doctor Who show, she stole their life. Or, parts of it.
But-...she didn't feel any anger towards Saydri as he held her in his arms and carried her to the kitchen. If anything, she liked that he was so willing to be close to her. He didn't feel like fear, there was no suspicion in his eyes or hesitation in his touch.
Not even Ruka had gotten this close to her, and they had known each other longer. A solid week at this point.
The black, knee high platform boots were long forgotten, falling off her feet since she did not zip them up, and instead she nuzzled into him. Warm, strong and quiet was her giant friend. Very comfortable...soft, yet hard at the same time...
Her eyes closed, fanning impossibly long, thick onyx lashes across hr cheeks as her body slowly got limp in his arms till he turned on the light to the kitchen. She groaned softly and whimpered against the inability to sleep just yet. She was hungry, and Saydri said he was as well. There was still something that must be done.
"Ah-....th-thank you..." Tentatively, she held his shoulders and waited for him to put her down. Keeping herself against him, she smiled and placed another nuzzle against his cheek with her own. "I'm sorry for-...bring forward l-like this..." She stuttered quietly, "C-can you boil water while I-....prepare the ch-chicken...?"
<font color="9ce619]Many found him unsettling in his size as well as his mannerisms. Unnatural. Seri seemed to accept his touch and presence with surprising fluidity. She hadn't rejected him and he didn't feel any anxiety or anger from her. If anything she seemed to accept him readily in the way that she touched and nuzzled into him, purring in a way he enjoyed.
It never crossed his mind that there might be anything wrong with what he was doing. No hesitation or second thoughts as he lifted her. Seri wanted to go to the kitchen and she was leaning against him - so he took her there.
Sure he didn't go around picking up people randomly most of the time - well none that he was allowed to talk about. Setrin would be most upset with him, he thought with a soft chuckle before he glanced down at Seri who groaned and whimpered at the sudden influx of light, causing him to cock his head to the side.
A soft rumble coming from Saydri as she nuzzled him back and he let her legs slide back down to the floor as he supported her. Finally moving his arms away other than one steadying at her waist. Confusion glimmered momentarily at her question about the water, why would he have an issue with that? Once she was steady he moved over and picked up the kettle tentatively hoping he wouldn't break anything.
Moving over to the sink he turned on the tap, "Would you rather sleep?"
<font color="199ce6]Ready to immediately agree to sleep, she paused before she could reply.
Her stomach growled, changing her usual empty expression into one of pain for just a moment before she sighed. "I-...think food first. It will take b-but a....moment..."
Her feet dragged towards the fridge, body slumped over and head nearly wobbling on her head as if barely remaining attached to her neck. She had been on the verge of sleep while within his arms. Warm, comfortable and ready to curl up against him for the night. But food was something she had suggested, something he seemed to want.
So she couldn't disappoint him.
"After a little bit of f-food..." she looked over at him, a container of shredded chicken in her hand as well as butter, heavy cream, a type of white cheese and a few other things. She balanced them all one atop the other and against her chest. They were supported in her arms by her body and hands while she carried the ingredients over to the stove.
"I think there's-...angel hair and p-penne pasta....unless you don't...care?" She glanced to her side at Saydri, her hands working on making the sauce.
