<font color="9ce619]Saydri wasn't slow. He was very intelligent - just in matters of wilderness, survival and hunting, things that he was most comfortable with. Other things, well he had trouble understanding some concepts, they seemed to go over his head especially technology. Though that was a whole different problem, he just seemed naturally to break it.
Even when he didn't do anything.
Saydri wasn't concerned about anything else other than sliding his fingers through the silk strands and settling them into some semblance of order. Ruka could keep the stranger in line he was sure, the only time his attention wandered was when Seri addressed Setrin. He nodded his head towards the phoenix before returning to his work - his hands were currently occupied.
He enjoyed the repetitive actions. They allowed him to settle into a comfortable rhythm. He also enjoyed the way that the female was relaxing beneath his touch, perhaps the most relaxed he'd seen in a while. He couldn't see her expression but he could hear the soft little sigh of pleasure, which caused a rare smile to curve on his own lips.
It used two ribbons before he tied it off with a small amount of wavy silvery-white hair left at the end. He twisted it then, looping the braid so that he could secure it with more of the pins, the free strands trailing delicately around the back of her head loose. It would be out of the way and tidy, at least for a while.
Surprise flickered across his expression when she turned around suddenly and he found himself gazing into ice-blue eyes. His hands moving away from her hair as she did so automatically, so as not to mess up the hairstyle. His gaze dropping to her lips as she spoke his name before dropping to their hands when she took his. Fingers interwove with her own as he was pulled closer, he was still taller than her by a few inches despite the fact she was sitting on the bench top.
There was something about the way she whispered his name...
His breath caught in his throat. The heat of her body, he could feel it in close proximity even though there was space between them. Their bodies only pressing through clothing here and there. Dark lashes slid downwards against his cheek as he felt the softness of her skin against his hand and the soft nuzzle.
"You are most welcome," he said with a smile as his eyes opened once more, his thumb lightly brushing across her cheek. His gaze once more focusing on the silvery-white strands and their entwined fingers, "I did not mind working on my day off, so that you would not be alone. Not that worked long this evening."
<font color="199ce6]Seri loved the way he smiled and seemed to cherish the feeling of her cheek in his palm. Maybe, like her, he had gone without physical contact for a long time. She craved it, and not just in a sexual way. A simple embrace, holding someone's hand or - as Saydri had already done - played with someone's har. She'd grown up in a world where it was common place to embrace or kiss, hold and hug as a greeting or farewell. How people had stopped doing that, she never really tried to focus on.
It was too sad...
While he didn't move to pull away from her, she moved her hand from the back of his, hoping he'd leave his hand to her cheek. With one hand now entwined with his, her other moved to his waist to settle there. She looked up at him, her usual small smile in place as emotions danced in her eyes.
They were muted, controlled and bland one might say, but they were there is one looked closely.
"How did you know I was-....wanting company...?" It was hard to admit when she was lonely, and tonight especially was the worst of all days of the year. It used to hold plenty of good memories for her. Gifts, cakes and other treats. But once her world changed and people blurred in and out of her life it turned into just an old memory.
<font color="9ce619]Saydri enjoyed the sight of Seri smiling, of the hint of expression within the pale blue eyes. For once he agreed with Setrin's choice of nickname. Seri was fresh and clean, cool to touch... reminding him of snow and the purest of streams that wound their way down from the mountains, and fed by the snow-caps. She was strong...and yet so soft and delicate, like a flower. Like the snowdrops from where he grew up amid the mountains. Such a hardy plant, despite snow and wind it flourished and produced its flowers, small and delicate but with a heady perfume.
Saydri didn't pull away. Made no movement to move even when the hand against his slipped away, his palm remained against her cooler cheek. Thumb brushing out across her smooth skin as he looked down at her, his gray eyes almost distant and yet so thoughtful and perceptive.
As the hand settled at his waist he shifted closer. Invading somewhat, what others would normally associate as their personal space. Those kinds of lines were a little gray for Saydri when it was someone he felt comfortable with. At her question he frowned slightly, how had he known...anyone else would make some flippant comment or white lie.
But not Saydri.
Gray eyes flickered over to his employer when she spoke his name, his head tilting slightly, inquisitive. A smile curving his lips at the praise, softening his expression further as he lightly brushed a hand along the silky strands making sure it was in place. "It was a pleasure to do."
As she walked away he waved goodnight to her as she ascended the stairs before turning his attention back to Seri. Fingertips lightly brushing along her jawline before he leaned forward, resting his forehead lightly against hers. "I don't know. Your eyes...just seemed sadder, and you smell a bit like rain," he murmured softly.
<font color="199ce6]It didn't take much for Seri to warm up to the man who braided her hair. He'd been kind and caring, going out of his way to help her when things had been out of hand. Saydri was warm against the chill of her skin. Heat and comfort while she wore his coat and his hand to her cheek.
Nuzzling against him, she heard Ruka call for her. She did not move to look to her boss and brought her eyes towards her none the less. Was she going to be called away? Please no...she liked it here with him. He calmed her and her creature completely. Not a growl, scratch or rattle could be felt within her mind. Not like when she was around others.
Yet, at the prospect of shopping, she perked up to glace to Ruka's retreating back, knowing it would be a much needed and appreciated trip. Has she complained too many times? Perhaps she had. Even if not to the same person. Wait, who did she speak to other than those she had spoke to today? Ruka spoke at her, the conversations one sided and very short. Saint often poked at her in ways to get a reaction. Soon, he'd pay for all those jabs.
Maybe spit in his next drink or toss his cigarettes in the toilet...
With Ruka gone, Seri looked back once more to Saydri as he caressed her cheek with his thumb. Drawing closer, she felt the heat falling off him in waves. It took some will to not nuzzle all up against him. For now, she would not ask for more attention than she had already been given.
He leaned towards her, enticing a small expectant gasp past soft lips that nearly choked back a groan when she realized he intended to rest his forehead atop her own. The creature still didn't stir within her and seemed to be curling up in comfort.
Was it his scent or his other half, the side of him she did not know or see. Unlike most others, they could feel when someone wasn't human. Seri, it was more like the reaction of her creature. Some were obvious, like Saint or Aneirin, while others were curiosities like Saydri and Ruka. With them, she was fully in control and able to relax a bit more.
"...My eyes...?" she said without a stutter, blinking up at him while her fingers traced lines along his side. Did she smell like rain? Like him? Chuckling softly, she sat up and nuzzled into his cheek. "You smell like rain and grass..."
Her grin grew before she moved closer to him, inching against him till she all but rubbed against his front. An ear pressed to his chest to listen and lean to embrace him. Seri let her arms slide around his waist, holding him lightly and calmly. So much tension seemed to fade away once they were all but alone. Only Anei remained.
"Ah...have you-...eaten...?"
