Julianna did her best not to fidget and instead listen politely and give Ishara her full attention. Though obviously oblivious to her thoughts, Julianna was more interested in trading innuendo with the tall blonde that had been sent back to work.
To her, the entirety of this wedding was a farce. It was just a show to impress all the bigwigs back home that were associated with her family. And Jean’s. Julianna would never admit it, but the fact of the matter was she didn't want to marry Jean-Etienne, but her parents were counting on her to secure a good match that would elevate their family’s social and financial status. It was a bit old-fashioned, but she didn't see herself with many other options.
Julianna nodded and pretended to carry along with Ishara’s pitch. Maeve was actively listening and that was good enough. Her focus kept drifting back and forth between the photos in the binder and the kitchen window. “I like the arch,” she said when Maeve prompted her for input. “But I prefer buttercups and daffodils. We haven't decided on our color scheme yet.”
“They have ridiculous schedules,” Maeve chimed in. “I don't even know how they think they’ll have time to get married.” She laughed cheerfully, trying to keep the mood light and playful.
“Jean will probably like the rock view,” Julianna said distractedly. She had caught sight of Owen crossing the stretch of land and disappearing into the woods, but not before tearing out of his clothing. That was curious. Julianna pushed away from the island where they'd been looking at the wedding book.
“I'm going to take some pictures,” she announced, suddenly. “Wander around for a while. Maybe, something will inspire me.” She didn't wait for Maeve’s permission, before navigating back out of the house.
“Sorry about that,” the blonde offered to cover for her flighty friend. “I think she's just nervous.”
Julianna adopted a quickened pace across the span of grassy land in the direction that Owen had disappeared. Could he have gotten that far away from her? She broke through the underbrush and saw no sign of him, or anything, really. She tsked, disappointed, but decided to venture further into the woods anyway for a bit of exploration.

I fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) I want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true) and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you.
