If Ishara was honest she wasn’t quite sure that she understood the weight that hung in the room. She was picking up that Julianna wasn’t terribly interested in getting started on planning her wedding. That tended to be more common with the grooms. If she understood correctly, Julianna was a fashion photographer so she had assumed that this particular client would be very interested in the vistas the ranch offered for a wedding. But the woman seemed more interested in sharing sexually charged repartees with her unruly son.
“Now let me see here.” Ishara took custody of the binder and flipped it open to a particular photo set of a wedding they hosted the year prior. “This was a spring wedding. The ceremony was actually performed here in the back yard. My son built this beautiful - very simple - arch that was set in planters and we grew fresh flowers in those. We had log benches for everyone and at the ends of each were matching planters again with fresh flowers. It was gorgeous and natural. The bride and groom took pictures on the top of this rock face that overlooks the river and range below. The pictures are stunning.”
Ishara passed the book back. “The logistics were a bit difficult in getting everyone up there. But the end results - just look at that! There was a falon that made an appearance. Isn’t that amazing? I think something like that would be right up your alley. What do you think?”
While Ishara was rambling on about this previous wedding trying to get some kind of response out of the distracted bride, Owen was rounding the back of the house at a brisk walk. He was outside and retreated from where she was but he could still smell her. Somewhere inside he was screaming with need to shift. He could not resist the urge. It was so strong that he shrugged out of his over shirt and clawed the t-shirt from his back as he made a turn off into the woods.
A deep aching in his bones and the crawling sensation along his skin were the first sensations of the coming transformation. Owen stashed his clothes and boots under the same bush he always did and let the familiar change came over him. He traded his body for that of a twelve hundred pound grizzly.
Paws hit the ground with an audible thump as he went to all fours. Owen was still aware of his responsibility towards a broken fence and other duties on the ranch but they were distant to what the bear wanted to do. He took off towards the river at a gallop crashing loudly in the underbrush.
A kind of compass formed in his mind. He plunged one direction into the woods while the needle swung back towards the ranch house where her scent placed her still among his mother and the wedding planner.

Bitch, I'm limited edition.
