Bree was beyond relieved, though very embarrassed, at the fetching of a hat for her. It seemed like a dumb thing to beg for in this sort of situation, but from how she relaxed once it was on her head, it was clear this was more vital to her than the scrubs had been, by far.
Now that her ears had been seen to, she went back to musing over the mystery of the cat-parts. If they didn't turn into cats, why in god's name did they just have ears and a tail? And they were called lynxes. Why would you be called a lynx if you weren't a cat? Maybe they were... cats who'd... turned into people, permanently, or...
Her curiousity grappled awkwardly with her desire not to cause offense. This family, or whatever, was super nice to an almost ludicrous degree. Like, it was almost understandable when they thought she was a dog, maybe, because dogs were lower maintenance than people, and their son was literally a vet. But everything after she'd turned back into a human was total shock. She really, really didn't want to be an asshole, here.
Curiosity won anyway, though.
"So, uh, did you like, used to be a cat, or are you, like, descended from cats, or is it just, uh, you have those?" she prodded idly as Julianna helped her out to the idling car. She hadn't really been paying attention to it the first time, for obvious reasons, but it was an intensely nice car. Rich family? She'd already sort of guessed that, but the car implied maybe she'd significantly underestimated it. Well, why be an assassin if you couldn't live nice, she supposed.
Which reminded her.
"And, um, your husband, is he nnnngh." She cut herself off by trailing into a bit of a painted grunt, but it wasn't because her injuries suddenly hurt more. They did, but that was irrelevant. She'd been about to fucking call him normal dear god why was she like this. At least she'd covered for it by pretending she was in pain. Er, more pain? That it was bothering her more than it was. "Sorry. Is he human?" she finished, as if that was what she'd totally intended to say the whole time. (God, Bree, you can't just ask people if they're human, echoed sarcastically in the back of her mind. Although maybe you couldn't. She didn't know.)
Bree mumbled embarrassed thanks to Owen as she half climbed-half collapsed into the back seat of his car. She self consciously gripped at the right side of the scrubs as she managed to sit upright. Still dry... her make-shift bandages were at least somewhat holding, maybe.
She desperately did not want to get even a drop of blood on his seats.
She buckled up with some difficulty, strangling a hiss of pain that wanted to bubble out of her throat at the sensation of a seat belt against her most-certainly-still-fractured ribs. Fortunately, any noise she might have made would probably have been drowned out by the audible grumble of Owen's stomach. Come to think of it, she hadn't eaten since around noon yesterday too. She'd gotten too caught up trying to lose the werewolves before sunset.
"Sounds great," she said quietly, not sure whether or not the question actually included her. In reality, she wouldn't have minded just going straight to their home so she could curl up somewhere and try to process the fuck was going on. But if they wanted food, she certainly wouldn't stop them.
