Elliot’s gaze flicked, disinterestedly, to the pile of texts she had gathered at her feet. They were not the ones he was looking for, and even if they were, he’d lost interest in the task he had put her on all together. He closed the book he’d been pretending to read as Eden moved closer and offered on of her selections to him. He looked down at it, but didn’t take it from her immediately. Content instead to watch her hold it. “You know as well as I do, Ms. Weatherfare,” he paused, smirking as he closed the book he held and dropped it nearby with no concern for where it landed. “We don’t catch cold.” He knew she sometimes said things to sound authoritative. To make certain demands without actually demanding anything from him. It was bold, but he kind of enjoyed listening to her try to boss him around. Finally, he took the book she held, opened the cover and frowned. He dropped it down with the other one.
Clearly, not the one he was looking for.
Eden continued talking, but Elliot was..barely listening. He was counting the buttons on her blouse. He caught a word here and there, but he was mulling in his disappointment that the polka dot fabric climbed towards her throat. “Then restore them,” he muttered sounding like he didn’t care. Because he didn’t. Elliot stepped forward, reaching for her hip with one hand as he did so. He kept walking, forcing her to walk backwards with the press of his body and the insistence of his hand on her hip.
He stopped when her back met a bookshelf, the hand on her hips skirted higher, settling into the curve of her waist. He frowned down at her, green eyes narrowed in what could have been suspicion. “Do you enjoy disappointing me?” he asked, likely rhetorically as he took her hands in both of his own. “I don’t ask that much of you, Eden,” he breathed, lifting her arms above her head. Whether he was truly oblivious to the severity of the things he asked of her for was uncertain. He easily took both of her hands in one of his own, long fingers curling around slender wrists, the position lengthened her torso, pushed her breasts upwards in what he considered and offering for him. Everything in the castle was his for the taking. His free hand moved to undo the buttons of her blouse, starting with the one at the very top that hid her throat from him.
“Why do you find it so hard to follow directions?” he asked, sliding his knee between hers and forcing her legs apart.
