<img style="max-width:25%;float:left;margin:0 18px;" style="avatar" src="http://i.imgur.com/Kg8kHEX.png]Was it selfish for him to take advantage of Ashrun as he was? In his path only ruin awaited, and at this rate she'd be swept up in the metaphorical and literal line of fire. Perhaps, but moments like this one were a rarity not often savored in his experience, a quiet breakfast served with tea between two friends. Perhaps, that was a bit inaccurate as he couldn't truly call Ashrun his friend. After all he'd known her the entirety of a solid day and night. Likewise, Azreal assumed the same was of him for her. Still, they both appeared at least on the surface to enjoy the company of the other, and worked well enough to be considered allies; the future for furthering their relationship was certainly there.
Azreal was a learned individual, this much was not in question by those that grew to know him over time. A diplomat in many regards, it was required of him to understand a multitude of dialects that at this point he'd lost count of. Beyond that, with any political discourse taking place he would need to know of their culture and history, both recent and ancient. This was of course a consuming endeavor in itself, but like his partner lying out in the deep reaches of space, Azreal reveled in the procurement of information. His edict memory however, was never quite satiated despite having an endless stream of knowledge to prey upon.
Aman itself was proof of said concept. In landing on this world he found himself more and more intrigued by the greater mysteries revolving around its people and the means of which they've advanced themselves beyond their initial right. How had the travelers come to find themselves on this harsh planet, and why had they created bases like this one?
Sharp golden hues focused clearly on the fidgeting Ashrun across from his person. Subtle as it might have been, this was a state of clarity, no, determination he found himself in. As if he'd finally woken from his stupor. The surprise strike upon his vessel, the narrow survival of his crash, his sudden meeting with this dark locked child of the jungle, the expanse of this underground facility, the constant slew of scenarios he'd been running through his head of what to do next. All of this had been hampering the shapeshifter.
An adage from his younger days: The past was long gone, and the future had yet to unfold, to focus on the present, what was to happen now was all that truly mattered. These were the actions that would shape what was to come next.
Like Ashrun, he pushed himself up and away from the dining table at the sound of what he figured was a clock of some sort.. Despite having slept poorly in terms of his night terror, those worn muscles of his were well rested and were itching to get a workout in, or show off what they could do; maybe a touch of both. Azreal doubted they would go disappointed for long. With her departing, the sly fox of a man would give her one last teasing remark. "If we're being honest with one another, then I admit that I too at peace resting with you at my side. I find myself already cherishing these nights to come." With her disappearing back to their now shared bedroom, Azreal allowed her a respite from his jests, and eyes she might find prying while she changed into whatever attire she'd planned out for herself.
Her mannerisms were innocent, pure, though he could be wrong in thinking so, Ashrun was a breath of fresh air to the great game he played with most others. While she was easy enough to provoke these reactions from, Azreal was renowned for his stoic front, and the impenetrable fortress that he kept his true feelings behind. In this he appreciated letting said guards down. Without any sense of a threatening nature about her towards him he could be more himself. Whether such was for better or worse, was yet to be seen.
Her returning similar outfit was not too unexpected, it did appear well suited for traversing the dense jungle after all. Not too far off from her, he closed the gap without much of a pause, answering her question as he placed hand to to the wall she was nearly hiding behind. "That or I can use the shoes I'd left behind. I'm afraid I'm not quite as accustomed to dancing around barefoot as you are." A brief break in his train of thought as he pictured where he'd taken off his loafers near the entrance to the compound. "Right, I still have to clean up that mess as well, later though. I can retrieve the tarp if you want to search for a pair of shoes that you think will fit me. Either way we can meet up at the elevator. That will save us two trips." A grin to his lips and that surefire strength behind his voice once more showed that Azreal was more than ready to put a good foot in the right direction for their union together.
