That and he was bloody tired and to go into every fine point would be exhausting beyond measure. He was glad his shifting brought her amusement and awe, those he regularly spent his days around were far from amused at his parlor tricks beyond their use in a job. Both had settled down to slumber, but Ashrun left Azreal with one last lighthearted comment that clung to his heart.
'<font color="c69bf6]It is nice to-...have a friend.'
With those words dancing around in a fading conscious Azreal's heavy lids closed one last time before nodding off to a well needed sleep. Whatever trials that he was to face on this planet were just beginning, in that he had no doubt, but for once, perhaps it was pleasant to have another to stand by his side. Ashrun curled up next to him in bed with her hand draped over his midsection. This wasn't so bad, all things considered. He would make the best of this one way or another.

If Azreal had unique oculars of his own, then the pair of sharp, blue hues directed his way across the shuttle craft were in different league all together. His held a sort of mystery behind them, his golden gaze stern and insightful, but always fleeting for their next encounter. What Azreal looked into now were viciously cold, like each a frozen world void of any life. There was no second guessing what a man like this was, and Azreal knew all to well what he was capable of.
"<font color="6a72e2]We did it, Azreal, and in no small part I have you to thank." The interior of the shuttle was plush and lavish, probably worth more that most would ever see in their lifetimes. While Azreal sat refined with a leg crossed over his knee, hands in his lap, his partner was anything but, legs spread apart and the man slouched back into the fine leather cushions. Messy raven locks were tousled back as they shook from a brief bout of turbulence, to which he responded by rapping knuckles aggressively into wall behind him to immediately let their chauffeur know. The duo plus the pilot were all suited in a similar fashion, dark slacks and a matching coat, though where Azreal's shirt was a flashy gold. <font color="1979e6]The being opposite him wore a deep maroon, and despite the class of the attire, clearly was less than kempt, black tie lazily hung around the collar and shoulders of the jacket well worn and clinging loosely to his dominating figure.
Azreal wouldn't respond initially, garnering a slight snarl to the lips of the somewhat taller man before he spoke up a second time, this instance with a reverberating bass to his voice filling the small enclosure. "<font color="6a72e2]Relax." He'd start, long and drawn out as if shutting out any outside sounds as the ship flew though the city skylines, though surprisingly it did just that as the couple fell into a deathly silent state apart from the words being said. "<font color="6a72e2]This a great victory for the both of us. You've been by my side as an ally for too many years to count now, and I don't expect that to change."
Rising up from his seat, his presence from his previous position would seem to delay in catching up to his actual body, like a midnight shaded cloak of mist. He closed the short gap between the in a single step and gave reason for Azreal to stand to meet him eye to eye. "<font color="d4a017]Zeno." Azreal let out in a typical suave expression, regal in tone and keeping rigid control over any fluctuation that might have been influenced by fear. "<font color="d4a017]How far are you planning to take this?"
The question went unanswered, the man now called Zeno taking his partner by the collar of the shirt and lifting him with what seemed to be such ease over to the back of the craft. Being pressed firmly against the back door, slowly metal hinges buckled and gave way, the hatch being torn away by the force of the ship's momentum. What had been a cityscape before was now a nightmarish amalgamation of the darkest sort. Skyscrapers became purplish flesh spires, skies of blue were clouded in pitch black, massive eyes within them twitching to peer in all directions.
"<font color="6a72e2]You know full well where this ends, and whether or not you are there at the final epoch lies solely on you." What language Zeno replied in quaked the dreaming world, horrific groans echoing in concord in the atmosphere. Then he released Azreal with a callous glance cast downward as he fell. What would have been concrete streets were instead rivers of filth, ghoulish limbs grasping up at him to catch his descent and drag him below.
~~~
Awakened with a start, Azreal sat up in the foreign bed, his chest pounding and digits gripping at the sheets. Right, a dream, a horrific one at that. Ashrun still slept soundly, hopefully at peace in her head unlike him. A light sweat to his back and face, he slipped from the covers and padded with sluggish steps out of the dimly lit room. Walking this off would be difficult, especially with how little he felt he'd slept, but there were far more pressing matters for him to deal with than a looming threat galaxies away from him. What threat Zeno might have posed was meaningless if he died here on this planet, though perhaps that would be a far better way to go.
The shifter found himself back in the kitchen, rummaging through drawers and cabinets looking for anything that might have been similar to coffee. Caffeine would help him snap back to his senses, and help him put that nightmare behind him, that was if anything of the sort even existed on Aman, right now he just looked like a bit of a madman scavenging about. This was far from his typical morning routine, if he could even call it that. Currently, he had no way to even determine the time of day.
