Ashrun watched him as he ate the first spoonful of his frozen sweet. The look on his face was proof that he enjoyed it, and that helped her in smiling back at his admission to her preparation skills. She did not prepare much in the way of edible things. Often devouring a whole vegetable or large fruit raw, sometimes trying her hand at cooking only to eat ashes. But after his meal and the frozen delight, there wasn't much to feel sad over. A good meal and even better company was enough to make any day seem better by the end. "<font color="#c69bf6]I'm glad you like it." she smiled once more - a bright, happy grin. He was not her brother, she mentally told herself. But his reaction to the sweet was so much like his. Swallowing a sudden lump in her throat at the gaze he held her in for a long while, she was glad he looked away so she could move past him and set herself back into her normal stasis. "<font color="#c69bf6]Looking as you do now, in these clothes, it is possible if you found a way inside..." Ashrun pushed her spoon around on her bowl. It was not a hard thing to talk about the city, but it was difficult to explain how nearly impossible it was to get him inside. She knew ways to sneak in, she had done so before as a child with her brother before he was caught and taken from her. He remained inside the city still. It had been many many years since a shuttle left the mountain walls. "<font color="#c69bf6]The city is carved into the middle of the mountains to the south. There is no path to it. One would climb the mountain till it was too frozen to touch and keep going until the city was in view. Then, if the sentinels did not find and kill you, it would be over rocky terrain to the middle of the mountains. The city has walls all around. No entrance inside through any door or gate. You could fly over and pray not to get vaporized or climb over to the same possible fate." Ashrun ate her sweet, letting her explanation settle in a while before she continued. "<font color="#c69bf6]Much like this home of mine, their technology is out of place. Father once said the city was a virus to this world. And it's people all sick..."
Once she finished speaking, she looked up from her bowl to find Azreal gone. Just a second, she thought he was a dream. Someone she imagined as she had done before to stave off her own loneliness. But it was just a second of thinking this. He stood at her side, towering high above her sitting place and with an expression so soft, it hurt her chest. He trusted her and she was trusting him. The possibility they could both hurt each other, especially here away from everyone, was very high. But with how gentle he touched her hair and caressed her cheek - if even for a second - that knowledge that they both wouldn't willingly break each other's trust was settling in her aching chest.
She wanted more of his touch and warmth on her cold skin. To brush fingers in his hair again and breath in his scent. Not in the way a woman wanted to be loved by a man. But how people needed to have physical contact with someone. Other than a beating or a hunt. Ashrun would not admit aloud, but everyone had a breaking point and she felt hers was coming to a close before Azreal crashed and was brought into her life. Why did she bring him home with her without any hesitation?
The question hung in her mind for a long moment while Azreal went about washing his dishes. He was thinking on how to get into the city and she knew only one way to safely sneak him in. If she could make himself as small as her, it was possible.
Her own sweet now finished, Ashrun stood and walked to his side. Placing the bowl on the counter to wash later. "<font color="#c69bf6]There is one way I can show you to get into the city. But I cannot follow you inside. I am not able to maintain any shape but this one inside the city..." looking from her empty bowl up to him as he turned to face her, she nodded. Glad that he was ready for bed as she was. And somehow excited to share a bed with a warm body once more. As her hand reached for the hem of his tunic, she lowered her gaze from his to his shoulder and stepped slightly closer to him, almost lean into him and yet they did not touch. "<font color="#c69bf6]I told you about my world and my people...." she whispered with a little grin on her lips, "<font color="#c69bf6]I'd like you to share some of your stories." As a child would, wanting to be read a tall tale before bed, she moved both hands up to take one of his and pull him along behind her towards the bedroom. "<font color="#c69bf6]Tell me of the buildings and people. Of the cafe's and parks people gather at.....or other beings and what they look like." it was clear she was excited to get him into bed with her, but not for the reasons one would think. She wanted him to weave stories of the stars, as he said he would.
