Cold, almost dismissive vocals left the Synthetic like a release of frigid air. Icy hues searched the details of the wall several times over before they strayed to Ventus, though even when she finally met his gaze, there was a hollowness to her expression. A bitterness. Bloodied, battered features harbored no emotions whatsoever, her visage a mask of stoicism that had surprising weight; her judgement was unbiased. Unstable as Ventus seemed to be, Kae didn't intend to provoke him further, but she would give him no reason to want her company. She certainly had no interest in his, be it in his bed, on his floor, or in the spare room nearby. When he crouched near her, Kae instinctively flinched, her eyelids tightly shutting as if expectant to be hit again.
"Than intended..." The Synthetic parroted softly, fatigue straining her bruised physique slightly more noticeably with each passing moment, leaving her to rest heavily against that nearby wall for support. His hand moving against her skin was ignored, though his thumb tracing her jawline would be met with the swelling and the blood, as well as a severe gash along the curve of her chin that oozed even then with new globules of cruor. Her cheek was bruised, her bottom lip split; there were lesions and lacerations to be accounted for. Ventus had overstepped the line between punishment and blatant cruelty, and whether he was sorry for breaking his new toy or not didn't honestly matter. Kae had been right in her previous assessment, and she would come to realize this the more her companion spoke.
Fixable, as he put it, meant cell manipulation. It meant quick and dynamic growth. Shots. Treatments. Things a normal individual would only undergo under the most dire of circumstances because the cost alone was enough to leave most rethinking their options. Of course, Kae had never been hurt by anyone in this fashion, so she had no firsthand knowledge concerning what Ventus was promising her. Not that she believed him anyway. His last promise was washed out by the blood staining his bedroom in dried pools, his words as phony as his artificial eye was. As Kae herself was. None of this mattered inevitably as the two of them were worth less to society than the metal used in their augments. "You should know I cannot erase what goes to the cloud. Everything you say and do to me, while located near me, is stored there. I am stored there."
Kae would do her best to keep herself upright as her eyes settled on Ventus after he had moved away from her once more. "So... don't hurt him. Threatening me with his safety doesn't change the facts." Achingly slowly, Kae's hand would rise so she could finally rub her digits against the extent of damages across her countenance. It was a heart wrenching sight to watch her face fall as each injury was touched, the lack of pain making every marring the woman touched new and invasive on her normally unblemished skin. Perhaps she had gathered enough about her current state in the brief time she lingered on the details, her hand falling back to her side while she once more hid her expression behind a curtain of messy pink strands.
Blinking back tears, Kae admitted with a wavering sigh, "I would rather you recommission me. I no longer wish to be in your custody or care."
