Our ship's AI makes use of a high-memory library/research brain. Given it's race time, the brain's databases concern known ship systems- if you get a good look at a competitor's vessel, you will learn about any visible systems (weapons, engines, etc.) they have, and a general idea of their capabilities. You will also have full-sensory recordings of every moment of conscious existence. Creepy!
