Bridget had thought she'd gotten much better at reading human--and human adjacent--body language, but she was at a loss here. She seemed disbelieving about the King being pretty. But anyone with eyes could see that he was almost mind-numbingly gorgeous? Like, on the tier of 'most beautiful man you will ever see in your life'?
Maybe she hadn't been paying attention? It could be startling, seeing someone go from Big Dragon to Big Man, she supposed, if you weren't used to it. When she'd first seen the King, she'd practically seen stars haloing his face... but, again, concussion, so it might have been more literal.
Maybe she couldn't even see properly from her angle. But it would also probably offensive and possibly racist to offer to carry Tiff around on her shoulders so she could have a better angle to appreciate how hot the King was. She'd figure it out sooner or later on her own. He'd wind up... putting her up in a tree in the garden while she talked, so she could look down and feel important. He was great at making you feel important.
Either way, now wasn't the time for her to go off rambling about all the things that made the King gorgeous, especially since several of them were either werewolf-specific or inappropriate to bring up in casual conversation.
"I think he liked that," Bridget decided, "because you were clearly really, uh." Her cheeks tinged faint red. "Like, smart and passionate and stuff. You obviously knew what you were talking about, and you were giving it one hundred percent." She considered this at some length while Tiff inhaled a gyro with alarming speed.
"He does seem to like when I go on at length about things," Bridget settled on finally, after Tiffany had finished. "But I think it's just because he likes how I get when I'm rambling. So it can't hurt. He likes people who are passionate, especially about things it's never occured to him a person could be passionate about. Like books, or buildings, or social welfare programs." Especially social welfare programs, frankly. Everyone wound up hitting social welfare program with him, sooner or later. He just kept trying to do good things in the most direct way possible, until your hands twitched to show him a better way to do it.
"So yeah, when you go back in there, forget about the fact that he's a scary dragon, and just think about everything you ever wanted to say once you got someone important to listen." Bridget smiled, confident that this, at least, seemed like good advice.
"Do you want more food?" she wondered. "Or we can head out into the gardens. It doesn't matter if we beat him there, we can always just wander around til he's done."
