She’d been focusing on the papers he had moved to the side. Tracing the hand written notes on the paper with her eyes; it’s what he had been working on when she had walked up. She wondered if the sheet music was for business or pleasure. She wondered what the notes would sound like when put together. Questions for another time, pushed away from the forefront of her mind by the feeling of his finger on her chin. A light touch, but heavy with the insistence that she look at him. Green eyes rolled upwards to settle on grey ones, breath catching as she tilted her head to follow.
Julianna had always had a hard time looking at people, especially when she was speaking to them. When she was younger, she had become very good at tricking people into thinking she was looking at them, eyes always a few millimeters to the left of their gaze, but now as an adult, she didn’t bother. Even though the habit was more frowned upon as she got older. Julianna spent a lot of time looking at her shoes, or whatever was in her hands, but it was different with Owen. She found that she wanted to look at him. Most especially because he also seemed to want her too.
When he pulled away she felt the absence of that soft touch, and found herself immediately wanting more of it.
“Okay,” she agreed easily, smiling as she unfolded her arms and leaned back in the chair. She attempted to push a coil of hair behind her ear. “That sounds nice,” she continued as the unruly lock sprung free. She dropped her hands instead of trying a second time. “I don’t mind dives. That’s usually where all the best stuff is.”
A bell above the door heralded the entrance of another patron. Julianna didn’t turn to see who it was, and she missed her own twin coming into the building. The twins looked mostly alike, as much as fraternal twins could when one was male and one was female and the former was much larger than the other. They had same bright green eyes and dark hair, though Elliot’s curls were cropped short and styled into a perfect sweeping undercut that had somehow managed to survive the humidity left from the rain.
Elliot scanned the room quickly, as he pushed up his sleeves and adjusted the strap of the bag that fell across his chest. The collar of a black button down peeked out above them hem of his blue sweater. For a moment, he lifted his hand to grab Julianna’s attention, but it quickly dropped to his side as he noticed she was with someone. It fell against the pocket of his jeans with a dull thump and he crossed the dining area, quickly and quietly until he met Eden and Maeve at the bakery counter. He leaned against it, to speak with them in confidence.
“Uhm...who is that with my sister?” he asked, resisting the urge to look over his shoulder at them.
Maeve huffed and shooed Elliot away from the counter, frowning at the hand prints that had been left on the glass. “We don’t know,” she replied, agitated. "That's the problem."

I fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) I want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true) and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you.
