A wide beaming smile floated about his features for but a moment as he took full view of Ashrun crawling out from under the wreck of his ship. Appearing as a child with too much free time spent rolling around in the damp earth to escape the heat, which did not entirely sound like such a bad plan as the sun beat down atop his head. Already he missed the cool interior of the facility where she lived, but at least it was a place of certainty he could return to in this otherwise foreign planet. A satchel held out for him to hold would be the greeting the received, as well as instructions on where to look and how to test for proper edibility. Peering inside to see the various plants and roots she'd picked in his absence away from her he was impressed at the haul. Covered once more he shouldered the bag at his side ready to put her knowledge to good use.
Azreal never envisioned himself on his knees digging through the earth, scavenging for food as though he were a savage. Stopping himself mid thought on that misguided term the shifter internally sighed and went about searching for fauna overlooked by Ashrun that he could give his hand in collecting on his own. Azreal had, for a the majority of his life, belonged to the upper echelon of society. Simply because these people were on a less developed world did not mean they deserved to be looked down upon by his bias.
In time, Azreal gathered a small collection of his own to add to the satchel, given a few more outings he felt confident he could bring in his weight of the duties in this regard, they'd been out long enough as it was, and both had an understanding of that no doubt. Wiping the mud covering his hand across his trousers, Azreal let out an exclamatory grunt while stretching his back. His brow wet with sweat, his muscles tight from bending over, filth caught underneath his normally well manicured nails, what a life to be suddenly thrust into.
"I assume it would be more beneficial for us to hunt down some wild game in addition to the plants we've gathered. I don't know about you, but I'd prefer not to eat roots and berries for the next few months." Looking towards Ashrun with a grin he hoped she caught that he was joking around, it was hard to tell with her as his sense of humor was often lost in this place. Still, he was in Ashrun's neck of the woods, literally. The golden locked fellow had little idea of the wildlife they would encounter, not to mention the area's they populated and how to track them. Azreal could be taught though, and he looked forward to the opportunity. "Who knows, if we encounter something larger than small rodents it would give me a chance to show off a new form to you."
It was easy enough to bait Ashrun in this manner, he knew she looked at this different faces in awe, the various alien races he'd gathered over the years. Rest assured, despite being a diplomat of sorts, Azreal knew that many conflicts could not be resolved with niceties and a silver tongue. Brute force was rarely a tactic he employed, but there was a time and a place for lean muscles, razor sharp teeth, and claws.
