Lids had been closed as Zeno strode through the room, and when the desk was ripped away with a show of force, she gasped and covered her mouth, head shaking violently as if it would dispel the demon from the office. Violet hues snapped open, wide and afraid and begging silently for the creature standing over her to just go back to whatever dark reaches of hell from whence it came. His company? Her hands fell away as a plea gurgled from her throat, a low and pained noise that breached the whistling static of his nightmare dreamscape as clear as a rusty bell. "No-" The Fae began, but his words were unstoppable and her options were to remain still through the explanation, with stark horror distorting typically attractive features. Inside her mind screamed, but the sound had been silenced and her lips refused to cooperate any more to reflect the misery that bubbled within.
Obsidian tendrils lapped and danced through the dreary miasma, familiar to the woman but in no way accepted, and she choked out another sob as they approached. When she finally moved, Fortune shoved herself away from the pitch appendages, going so far as to collide hard against the room length window, which rattled noisily in it's frame. The city beneath them was a possible escape, but plummeting through the rearward portal would do nothing but leave her dashed against the citizen soaked sidewalks. A thousand pieces and a long healing process later, he would still have what he sought, though the woman doubted he would be as civil or patient as he seemed in the moment. luminous hues cut through his abyssal prison, seeing the twisting figure as he dripped through the black, his voice cutting her defenses to shreds so the female felt obligated to follow the order.
Observing with a warped set of perse orbs, she saw the face of the devil in a man she barely knew. He smelled of violence, tasted of the foulest filth, with her mind recalling the times his hated hands had forced her down and made her feel worthless. Used. Fortune was met with a visage recognized for it's despicable tendencies and the pressure of meeting those cold blues made the breath in her chest catch as like a frozen sheet of remorse. Whatever sins she had committed in her long life were taken out as flesh, ripped and stolen and consumed by the monster addressing her. The only warmth left were tears down cheeks, captured as ice crystals before they could escape her tanned expression.
Maybe she would have continued to remain at a distance, even with his beckoning gesture, but the sludge of corruption waved dangerously close to her legs, and she recoiled away to his seated person. High beam-like eyes rose to meet him from the floor, and she made out the missing jacket as well as his sleeves rolled up along pale forearms. "I-I..." Her brow furrowed with doubt, a thousand more questions finding their way into the Fae's head, but nothing seemed willing to come out. All she could manage with shaky vocals was a counter inquiry. "Why?" It took less than a split second to realize the folly of such a thing, and her legs scrambled to try and bring her back to her feet. He was barking up the wrong tree if he thought she would ever help him do such a thing. Even in her shattered state, she wasn't entirely oblivious to the intentions of a man obsessed, and the auburn topped femme refused to be a pawn in the games he had queued to play.
"Fuck you!" She spit, woozy and disoriented and entirely too bold, but Fortune didn't seem to care. This wasn't the first time Zeno had taken her power away. Their last encounter had been a far less straight forward ordeal, and though there was no physical altercation to wear her down this evening, he had her cornered and kept in control. what could she possibly do? Besides teeter and rock on her heels in sad attempt to stay standing, the choices were being made for her. "You're still a piece of shit." In light of the situation, it wasn't the most opportune moment to throw out insults, but with her psyche racing like a starved greyhound, a filter couldn't be found. Just jumbled bits and pieces of rationalization to explain and expel his reasoning, all while trying to piece together responses of coherent value.
"Just fucking kill me! Just do it, you worthless fuck! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU!" In an instant, something within that damaged frame snapped, and the swaying woman launched herself where he sat. To scratch or bite or gouge out what she could reach; to delay the inevitable just a little while longer. When caged, a beast was known to be more aggressive, and Fortune Vereaux had been reduced to less than she deserved time and time again. He wouldn't take her so easily.
Not this time.
