<font color="#e6c519] The idea of having a job in a kitchen or serving in a restaurant caused a smile to appear as they made their way down towards the sushi area hand-in-hand. He wasn’t self-conscious in the least, other people’s opinions didn’t matter to him, especially when it came to Lotus.
Likèreal hadn’t ever put any real effort into learning to cook, not beyond the basics he’d learned from one of his original acquaintances. That was enough when the majority of the time you were only feeding yourself since the frequency of his guests were sporadic at best. Still, perhaps it was something he could look into. He could go to some cooking school in his spare time – another hobby to distract him from his boredom and loneliness. It might help giving him another job he could actually do successfully other than artist, tech, bartender or bodyguard.
Stopping at the sushi bar he followed suit, slipping onto one of the stools next to Lotus before recapturing Lotus’ hand, bringing it up towards his lips and brushed them lightly over his knuckles. Releasing his hand once more as he settled an elbow onto the bench top.
Likèreal wasn’t certain of that. His boyfriend tended to get absorbed for days on end, forgetting the rest of the world existed and resenting the things that impeded his work. But it was true he would enjoy having company at a meal on occasion, as well as just seeing his boyfriend more frequently. Honeyed eyes sought out a waitress so that he could order a drink, motioning at a young woman before turning back to Lotus. “I would not refer to you as prey Lotus, and you have my phone number. You could just call or text if you want to make sure I am home or available.”
To be honest the Fallen would very much enjoy that. The idea of Lotus initiating contact rather than him always feeling like he was vying for attention and interrupting. Lotus was very protective of his privacy and freedom, and when one knew his history it was understandable to be certain…but sometimes it made him feel lonely.
"What have I been doing…" Likèreal’s expression pensive as thoughts shifted at the question and he was thoughtful. He got bored and restless, funnelling the restless energy into something productive rather than ending up on Lotus’ doorstop was a bit hit and miss. Still there were things he hadn’t mentioned, dangers and truths – like the fact he was doing small jobs again, and that his current location was ceasing to be the safest place. That he might need to move soon. He wasn't sure why he avoided telling his boyfriend, it wasn't as if Lotus would worry about him or tell him to stop. Perhaps that was why he didn't tell him. He wanted to pretend that Lotus cared enough to worry about him if he found out, that just maybe he’d be important enough to relocate if it came to that…
Lotus was right. He had always had a reputation and one that was not overly positive in most perspectives. But it was probably best not for anyone to know that he was particularly serious about one person anyway. It was probably best for them both that others thought that he was still skipping from one lover to another. It was safer…
