He was inclined to banter about to keep himself and everyone smiling with a high disregard if they thought any less of him. How anyone could cast judgment was beyond him really when he produced nothing but clean results and high praise for his clan. And all for this smoldering beauty he stands before, intently reviewing new contracts and other propositions without even so much as batting an eye his way. All moments prior before he voiced his absolution, swallowing the woman's sultry gaze as he awaited for perhaps a scolding that'd been long overdue. Instead, he was rewarded with consideration and a smile - the better half of the two. "Well thank you, Lakshmi. With enough practice, I hope one day to conquer that cold battleground you call a heart." He teased, predicting another roll of the eyes with better hopes that maybe, just maybe, he'd hear a chuckle escape her lips. Other times the enforcer wished more; Dreams he was too ashamed to share in all due respect to the woman's marriage.
Perhaps Tau had been trying to hard. Or perhaps not enough. Regardless, as the Alpha's right hand, he was the closest to her at all times. So how could he complain?
"Right. Impeccable," the second-in-command agreed, still very much at attention as the Indian woman went on to explain her concerns. A brows furrowed the further his Alpha continued, reading her waved hand to be a force of habit rather than genuine negligence. A hand rose from behind his back to scratch at his head lightly, expecting a question he thought had been answered several days earlier in advance.
"Just to be sure, we do not have any dealings with Nagah, correct?"
"I thought Gamma had already briefed you," he answered with a sigh, uncomfortable in having to break the news to his superior. "My guess is the man who was crushed was none other than Floyd Irving: CEO of Irving Enterprises, billionaire playboy, and general asshole. He visited several weeks prior with a proposition regarding a safety box being smuggled out the city to a safer location. Following a strict policy, Mr. Irving would not disclose the contents inside said box, so we, ultimately declined his offer. However..." Tau paused, hoping he hadn't lost Lakshmi with this surprise.
"Some defects have turned their backs against the clan in favor of the payment Mr. Irving has offered. Without authorization, these traitors carried out the mission in secrecy. Now, as your right hand, I'm fully aware of the men we have stationed among the floors of the casino and found it rather strange to find one man, then two, then three men completely abandoning their posts a week ago or so. I had questions that needed answers, so I formed a small party of trustful men to track and hunt these traitors down. I have one in custody beneath the casino where we keep the holding cells but he refuses to speak. If I had to put two and two together, I'd say the recent Nagah killings is connected to whatever was inside that safe Mr. Irving wanted us to smuggle out. I'm sure a Nagah representative will come in the upcoming days with a request to hold a meeting between the leaders of each clan. There, we will issue a formal apology, return whatever contents that may or may not have been stolen from them, and hand over the traitors as penance." Tau finished the long and winded explanation, giving a slight bow of his head in apology as well.
"I hope you can forgive me for acting alone. I only seek your best interests with keeping our clan's reputation at the highest standard."
