He looked thoroughly chastised, though all things considered her scolding could have been worse. She understood his motives, and his dedication to the clan, but their was still a hierarchy that he needed to concede to.
She stopped when she was at his side, her shoulder brushed the length of his bicep as she did so. Shorter than him by a head.
Will that be all, he had asked.
She narrowed her eyes, even though he could not see. She was facing the opposite direction, not that he could even bring himself to look at her. <font color="#bd1185]"Not even remotely," she replied, continuing her path towards the door.
<font color="#bd1185]"Come. " She exited the office, expecting him to follow.
She walked in silence, making her way to main floor. She moved easily through the throng of people. Feet were hidden beneath layered yards of purple fabric, and she seemed to glide. A sea of bodies parted as she passed.
Lakshmi smelled the visiting leopard before chocolate oculars caught her sitting in a secluded booth. The smell of jungle flowers and rain-soaked earth was hard to disguise with sea-salt air and city streets.
Rufio.
Even with more pressing matters nagging at the back of her mind, she could not resist the opportunity to greet the wayward Bagheera personally. Before she could approach, raised voices and shattering glass caught her attention. <font color="#bd1185]"Tau, darling," she spoke softer now, as if their earlier conversation had never happened. <font color="#bd1185]"It would be wonderful if you could find the source of all that...commotion."
Leaving the Beta to follow her orders, she slipped away and towards the nomad.
<font color="#bd1185]"Ms. Cadence," she breathed, as she approached. Her voice was syrupy sweet, like honeyed Lassi, but the words she spoke were true. <font color="#bd1185]"How lovely it is to see you, again. One never knows when they will have the pleasure, after all."

I fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) I want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true) and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you.
