RE: A Princess for Wintersfeast [Closed] - saronym - 07-03-2020

Silently Eoghan watched her climb into the bed and settle into the middle. He grunted an amused sound at her occupation of the middle of the bed. Since she was going to be coy about it, he was the one who moved up next to her. He lined up their bodies comfortably. Her back to his front. His arm around her middle.

He settled in and closed his eyes while she worried aloud about the kittens. "They will be fine. Those that won't survive the night won't have much chance anyway."

He exhaled a comfortable sigh. "Go to sleep." He told her supposing she would worry about which of the kittens if any might succumb to the elements in the night.

He wasn't thinking about whether his actions were appropriate in light of his betrothal to Sophia. Many Eskrans coupled up against the cold before they were married. Survival meant more than morals propriety in the winter. Nevermind that their survival wasn't at stake on this particular night. Cold as it was, they were perfectly safe with plenty of firewood and furs.

He liked the way her body fit well against his. And the rhythym of her steady purring lulled him to sleep.

Ears stood at attention as Eoghan closed the small distance she had left between them. The move had been exactly what she had wanted, but she was still surprised. Julianna turned to her side and let her cheek rest on the arm he stretched out beneath her head. The crown of her head fit perfectly just below his chin, and the rest of her body fell in line against him.

Eoghan brushed off her worry for the kittens with facts, not malice. Though his words seemed harsh at first, she knew he was only enlightening her to the reality of the situation. Some of the kittens might not make it, and that's just how it was sometimes. Julianna sighed, still saddened by the idea that she could lose some of the little creatures she had tried to preserve.

She slept soundly nonetheless, as if his telling her to do so had some sort of command over her. Resonant purrs vibrating in her chest.

The storm had passed by morning. Threads of sunlight cut through the frost on the windows. The fire had burned low, almost to cinders, but it was still warm in the bed. Julianna could hear birds singing outside the cabin. She peeked one eye open, pupils narrowed to slits against the bright light and she retreated from it. Her company was still pressed against her back.

Very pressed against her. Her tail fell over her hip and his morning erection was an obvious feeling against her ass.

Her ears twitched. What a tempting position she found herself in. Julianna thought better of it. Of any impure thoughts she might be having in that moment. Knowing he was betrothed to another. SHe turned into Eoghan's arms until her face was against his chest. She cuddled into him, and listened to the rhythm of his heartbeat.

If she turned her chin upwards just slightly she could kiss his neck if she wanted to. Out of his leather and armor so much of him was more accessible to her than usual. Not that that should matter-

Julianna kissed his mouth instead. She had dozed off for a moment, and half-asleep she pressed her lips against his.

She did it again until he woke up enough to kiss her back. She imagined that he would push her away when he realized what was happening. That she wasn't Sophia and that she shouldn't be kissing him that way. But he didn't. Even as she purred as she kissed him. Even as she pushed him onto his back and draped her upper half over his chest, demanding that he open his mouth to her with nips to his bottom lip.

The storm outside created an unusually cozy atmosphere in his little cabin. He fell asleep to the sound of Julianna's purrs. His arm draped over her side, his front pressed into her back, and his face nearly burried in her hair. The storm and the soft figure of a pretty girl pressed against him, had Eoghan sleeping better than he had in a while. His scouting trip and a nagging injury in his side had disrupted his sleep for the past few weeks. But his pain had subsided and the familiar comfort of his bed put his mind at ease.

Her first kisses didn't rouse him enough that he woke but his hands acted of their own accord hugging her closer to him. His body responding to hers while his mind still dreamed. He came more to consciousness as pushed him onto his back and nipped at his mouth. Still half in a daze, he responded to her, opening his mouth to her and curling his arm tight around her back pressing her more firmly against him. There were no thoughts of Sophia when he pulled her on top of him, coaxing her to throw her leg over his hips. He certainly wasn't thinking of his obligations to anyone as his hands roamed under the tunic he lent her. His hands explored her curves and cupped her breasts. He teased her nipples with his thumbs.

Their mouths only separated when he sat up enough to pull the tunic over her head. He paused with her naked straddling his lap to look into her eyes as if asking 'what are we doing?' The unspoken question had no time to materialize before he took the back of her head and pulled her back into a kiss. He lay back bringing her with him not caring about the consequences.

It didn't take much for Julianna to follow the demands of Eoghan hands and straddle his lap. Her hips ground into his and she could feel his erection pressing between her legs. The tunic was hardly a barrier between them. He easily sought her breasts beneath the thin material and she moaned against his mouth as he kneaded the soft flesh.

The fabric was gone before she could blink. She was smirking as it was forgotten the the cabin floor. He grabbed her by the hips and she ignored the question lingering in the storm of those grey eyes. She wanted him, so she was going to have him. Sophia and anyone else didn't matter to her.

Julianna wasn't going to stop of her own accord. She waited for another sign from him that he wanted to end it, but instead his hand was in her hair and his mouth was on hers again.

Her purrs vibrated on their lips. Her tail swayed back and forth as her hands pulled away from his face. Her fingers fumbled between their bodies to undo the laces of his breeches. She lifted her hips long enough to free his erection from the leather. She used one hand to steady herself against his chest, and the other guided his cock inside her. Her moans were halfway to a whine as she settled down on him and rocked her hips up and down, as if satisfying some great need she had been harboring for some time.

Her ears pinned backwards, her breath ragged as she pushed her hair back with one hand. She leaned forward, and the curls spilled over once more. She placed both hands upon him. Exploring the planes of his abdomen. Her fingertips traces over jagged scars and braced herself as she continued to ride him. Half-lidded green eyes observed his face, searching for any change in the generall stoic countenance.

The momentary surprise at what they were doing faded and Eoghan found himself reacting to her. All heat. All instincts. Her hands fumbled at his waist with his pants and he nearly shoved her hands away to do it himself. Impatient to be inside her. But she got the laces loose and settled herself on top of him figuring out how their bodies fit together, legs spread wide over him.

He held her hips feeling her move as her hands explored his body. He watched her breasts bounce as she moved. His hands left her hips to cup her breasts and he rolled her nipples between thumb and index teasing her as she rode him.

His eyes met hers and her movements seemed to slow for a moment as she searched his face for something.

He propped himself up on his elbow. Tangling his fingers into her hair he pulled her mouth to his and bucked hard into her nearly throwing her off of him. He growled against her mouth and continued rocking his hips in time with hers. His breath was as ragged as hers and occasionally caught in his throat as if he were at risk of vocalizing a moan but held it back.

The biting cold of a crisp winter morning was no match for the heat radiating between them. Julianna's focus was entirely on Eoghan. Riding the buck of his hips, her cries of delight smothered by his mouth capturing hers again and again. He wasn't interested in the slower pace she tried to maintain in her attempts to draw a sound out of him. Julianna wanted to hear him moan for her, but instead his bruising fingertips dug into her hips and he pounded into her.

He growled into her mouth and his teeth scraped her lips. There was something primal in the way he handled and her feline nature reacted to it. Her tail curled tight against the small of her back; purrs vibrating in her chest. Her breath hitched, and her claws kneaded gently into the muscles of his back. Julianna buried her face into his neck. Heavy pants were hot against his skin. She pressed her mouth against the curve of his shoulder, trying to decide if she wanted to resist the urge to bite him.

Her orgasm made the decision for her. Pointed canines bit into his shoulder as she came. Not enough to break skin, but enough to satisfy her need to have something in her mouth as waves of pleasure coursed through her.

The southern princess got the moan she wanted out of him when her teeth pressed into his shoulder muscle. He titled his head back and to the side giving her full clearance to his neck. He tangled his fingers into her hair and pressed her against that spot. He came at the same time as she did, their hips bucking instinctual into one another, as he finally let out the moan she was waiting for.

Their bodies slowed to a stop, but he held them together for a few moments as they caught their breath. Her body collapses comfortably on top of his. He drew his fingers lazily up and down her spine.

Their moment of cuddling was interrupted by a feline chirp. Frostfang was announcing his presence in the room. A gaggle of kittens stumbled and waddled after him. Frostfang jumped on the bed and began kneading a spot into the furs.

"Looks like they survived the night," Eoghan observed as the kittens stumbled towards the bed. He gently moved Julianna off him and reached down to scoop the kittens two at a time in his large hands onto the bed.

He smiled at one black and greh kitten and rubbed the top of its head with his thumb. "They're strong."

He made no attempts to address the surprising events that took place that morning and instead set to inspecting each kitten before passing them to Julianna. The babies crawled over her meowing their morning hunger and greetings.

Julianna was content with having successfully drawn a sound from him and by her own orgasm. She lay comfortably against him. She kissed the mark she'd left on his shoulder with a tenderness that was perhaps in incongruous with their acquaintance. With the sound of her own pounding heart no longer in her ears she heard Frostfang's approach. She allowed Eoghan to displace her. She grabbed the tunic she'd been wearing before and pulled it back over her body.

It was colder now, without his body beneath hers.

Her ears perked as he began loading the bed with kittens. She watched as he brought handful after handful of balls of fluff onto the furs and blankets. She counted them out. "Seven in total," she said with a bit of awe. "I can't believe there are so many." Her ears fell again as she watched the kittens stumble towards her. She wondered if they recognized her in someway, or if they just had no instinct but to shuffle around, their tails standing up in straight points, until they found what they wanted. Food and warmth.

"Are you sure I am meant to keep them?" she questioned his decision again. Much like Eoghan she found it easier to change the subject. She didn't know how she would keep track of seven baby cats. "I should give them names," she mused. She picked up a grey one with tufts of white fur, lifting it to eye level.

"I suppose it's feeding time."

RE: A Princess for Wintersfeast [Closed] - saronym - 04-27-2021

Eoghan made his own count of the kittens and found his number matched hers. "An unusually large litter." He agreed wondering silently what became of their mother. Perhaps she had gotten stuck out in the storm or succumbed to other predation. "Rhonna can be unrelenting." He commented more to himself as he evaluated one of the kittens. He held it aloft in his hand peering up at it as it mewled helplessly down at him.

She asked for reassurance that she should be the one to raise then. He regarded her silently for a moment. She sat under his gaze in nothing bit a tunic. Her cheeks flushed from the cold. Lips swollen from kissing. A mess of curls tumbled over her shoulders.

The significance of what he tasked her with was lost on her.

"Yes." He answered simply and firmly.

She would be the one to raise them and name them. He set the kitten down close to Julianna. After handing it over, he tossed the blankets off his legs and swung his feet over the bed. "I'm starving. The fire's burned down." He announced his intentions upon getting out of bed.

RE: A Princess for Wintersfeast [Closed] - megs - 05-05-2021

Julianna held his gaze in the silence between her question and his answer. Another yes. One word, but was more than a simple answer. It was instructions. That there would be no arguments. The kittens were hers, and that was that. Just like she would learn the forest and ignore his mother. Facts, not suggestions. Circumstances that he would see to personally, with connotations she did not yet understand.

"Then I will take care of them," she agreed. "I promise they will be safe with me." She picked up the kitten he had been handling and rubbed her fingers over its soft head. The kittens climbed over her legs and each other. Sniffing and exploring and tumbling over the furred blankets. Julianna was unsure who to determine the sex of the kittens. She decided she would give them names that weren't preferential to their sex.

Julianna watched as Eoghan got up and moved across the room. It was then she noticed a patchy scar on his shoulder for the first time. She considered asking him about it, but thought better of it for now. She sensed that he intended to put some distance between them.

"I will name this one Th'oi," she said, holding up a kitten with black fur as dark as pitch. The openness of the cabin meant he could still clearly see her from where he tended to the fire. "It's the Veridian word for night. I think it's suits this one."

She nestled the kitten into the pile and also got out of the bed. She was hungry as well and would prepare a simple breakfast for the two of them.

It started with goat milk for the kittens. She poured a generous helping into a bowl and placed it on the bearskin rug near the fire. She moved back and forth from the bed, taking a few kittens at a time, until she had all of them sloppily lapping up milk near the hearth brought to life by Eoghan once more. "And this one will be named Iino," she pointed to a grey and white kitten. Continuing her train of thought from earlier. "Storm."

When the kittens and Frostfang were taken care of. Julianna set to making herself and Eoghan a breakfast of barley porridge, smoked herring and rye bread with the supplies Ishara had brought for her the previous day. Julianna had not been entirely familiar with the food in the north, but she knew enough to keep herself fed and present a somewhat decent meal for them to share. "The all white one will be called Haul," she told him, dipping the hard, dark bread into the soupy porridge.

"For snow."

RE: A Princess for Wintersfeast [Closed] - saronym - 06-14-2021

As they went about their morning Julianna kept coming up with names for the kittens.

"Th'oi." He repeated. Then practiced it again when she corrected his pronunciation. The vowels of her tongue felt foreign in his mouth but found himself able to commit the names to memory with a little practice.

Eoghan went outside to push the snow off the entryway for her. He brought in other logs for the fire, making a stack for her by the hearth. Snow flurries chased him each time he came inside. They landed and melted on the floor by the door.

Each time he came inside, she had a new name for him. He'd dutifully repeat it until he got it right. "Inio." Otherwise, he maintained a comfortable silence with Julianna as they went about their tasks.

They came together finally to eat when the snow and wood and kittens were tended to. "I'm certain they will grow strong under your care." He said encouragingly as they ate.

"The winter has set in." He informed her nodding towards the door and indicating the storm that dumped snow over them the day and night before. "Be careful to clean the entry way. Make sure you keep the fire up. Eat heartily." He smiled and arched a brow at her. "You're much too skinny, southern girl." And he pinched her side finding much less flesh than he would have liked there.

"The winter is harsh and lonely....but I'll come visit often. I will bring whatever supplies you require." He had finished his breakfast and pushed the bowl away, now making eye contact with her instead of staring hard into his food.

His pinky fingers brushed against hers where they lay on the table. "Is there anything you need, Julianna? I have to go."

The intimate morning was bringing a warmth to Julianna's heart that had been chilled by those few nights in Eskra alone. Eohgan's willingness to learn the kitten's name and his promise to visit her left her feeling more optimistic than she had in weeks. His faith in her ability to raise the small animals made her swell with pride. Her fingers curled over the top of his hand and she squeezed gently. "I'll be fine," she said with a reassuring smile. "We will be fine."

❆❆❆

It was a week and a half before she saw Eoghan again and in the days that followed Eoghan kept his promise to visit her. He brought her supplies and checked in on the kittens and shared meals with her. They did not speak of their tryst and another...incident did not happen. He was courteous and accommodating. They were friendly, and he held true to the mantra he had drilled into her the night he had saved her life.

You will learn the forest. You will visit the temple. You will endure my mother's abuse.

The latter had not been something she had to deal with too much. Lady Ishara was too busy planning for some upcoming solstice festival to be giving Julianna too much of a hard time. She also wondered if perhaps Eoghan had said something to her to make her back off.

He had yet to take her to the temple he tended, and she wondered the reason for it.

Julianna's kittens grew at a rapid pace, likely to keep up with the large beasts they were meant to become in their adulthood. They were several pounds, lithe and powerful even as only six weeks passed since they were in her care. Eoghan always seemed pleased with their development and Julianna begged him to help her teach the two males how to hunt. Like he and Frostfang did.

He had agreed and the first bit of training was for the three of them to learn the forest. He had been teaching her how to navigate, how to make traps and set them up to capture small game. Eoghan had taught her how to clean and prepare their prizes.

Julianna was kneeling in the snow. Resetting one of the traps along the path that Eoghan often used. The pack slung over her shoulder was already heavy with rabbits and pine marten. She was kept warm by heavy furs and a healthy layer of healthy weight she'd gained from Eskran cooking. Aiol and Haul, her two males stood watch nearby.

Julianna's ear twitched, feeling as if she sensed a presence nearby. Her fingers slowed, as she turned her attention to her surroundings.

From the blank whiteness of the forest, an arrow soared passed the right side of her face. The force of it's wake, and closeness to her head, knocked back her hood, revealing her ears that sprung to attention. It lodged into a tree at her bacl. A warning. Julianna pulled a knife from her coat and launched it into the direction the arrow had come. A warning of her own.

"Show yourself," she demanded to her unknown assailant.
