Who likes fairy tales and murder?? - ambientmagic - 04-03-2017

I'd like to do a noir Red Riding Hood kind of thing, who's interested? I already have Logan “Scarlet” Chappell as Red (click here for her profile)

Seeking:
Hunter/Woodsperson
the Big Bad Wolf aka Murderjerk
Grandparental figure of some sort?
Idk man, you wanna do a local media report or a guest spot as a random old person who gets murdered or narrate a whole scene as an angry cat go for it i'm not your mom

The next posts will be a little scene setting snippet and then maybe a moodboard??

Please post if you'd like to join the FTPD!

RE: Who likes fairy tales and murder?? - ambientmagic - 04-03-2017

There’s a murderer stalking the streets, and senior citizens are paying the price. The criminal is siccing a vicious dog on the elderly victims while ransacking their homes. Logan “Scarlet” Chappell and her partner are the team investigating “The Wolf” as he was dubbed by the press, and for Scar, it’s personal; her grandmother lives in an apartment complex in the targeted neighborhood. Scar fears she could be next if she can't catch this spree killer in time.

Scar's heart rate skyrocketed every time the radio buzzed in the patrol car. On a Friday night, most of the calls were fairly benign: drunk and disorderly, barfight, drunk and disorderly, DUI, noise complaint. But that didn't stop Scar from reaching toward her holster with every code. After all, The Wolf hadn't missed a weekend yet.

It was nearly three when the call finally came in--a neighbor had reported a door broken and ajar across the road. Scar prayed without much conviction this was just a B&E as they whizzed over to the address, siren wailing. It fit the MO: run down neighborhood, comfortable enough apartment but falling into disrepair. The cars in the parking lot had a lot of handicapped stickers; most of the residents were senior citizens or disabled.

It was a straight shot up the stairs to the apartment with the broken door. Scarlet knocked briskly on the doorframe with her right hand. "Police!" she announced loudly. "A neighbor called in a concern, we'd like to do a wellness check. May we come in?" She waited. No response, just as she'd feared.

Her partner nudged her and gestured toward the threshold. A smear of blood. Probable cause. "We're going to come in now," she announced clearly. "Please have your hands where we can see them." No clear sign of present danger, so she was careful and cautious as she pushed open the door and stepped inside. Maybe, maybe, maybe...

"Main room clear." No people, but a lot of mess. Either a tornado had been through here, the resident was a hoarder, or--

"I'll check the bedroom," she murmured while her partner checked the kitchen, closet, and bathroom. At this point they both knew what was coming.

Sure enough, a familiar sight greeted her when she entered the senior's room. The woman was lying in her bed, but there was nothing peaceful about her rest. Blood spattered across the sheets and onto the carpeted floor. A partial canine footprint caught her eye as she examined the areas around the bed--the bedroom was as messy as the other rooms had been--before finally taking a deep breath and looking at the body.

The woman's hands were up near her head, covered in blood as if she'd been attempting to hold back something. There were long black hairs under her fingernails--she'd been scrappy. Blood on her torso indicted a shallow wound on her stomach, but the cause of death was clear--the woman's throat was a bloody mess.

Same CoD as the others. "Call it in," she called to her partner, voice hoarse. She took a step closer to the bed, careful not to step anywhere forensics would need to examine. Scarlet addressed the figure on the bed, who had died here alone and scared because Scarlet hadn't caught this monster yet. "I'm so sorry."

Okay I'm done posting things so please reply if you're interested and also who you'd like to play?

RE: Who likes fairy tales and murder?? - AgentBonkers - 04-04-2017

As I said, interested in playing a senior in this. :]

I'm thinking an old man, who is a cat lady type dude, who is the only or almost only victim to survive thus far, because his cats distracted the wolf long enough for him to get away merely injured. He didn't get that good a look at his assailant but could provide some kinda lead/clue. Would probably insist on referring to the wolf as a furry. Because he has a tablet his granddaughter gave him and he knows all about things like furries. Obnoxiously tries to 'help' investigation, is distraught that at least one of his cats is either dead/missing as a result of the whole thing, etc. A bit of a hoarder type too, might have something useful to contribute stashed amongst his many belongings (the cats and the mess, honestly, might have equally been reasons he survived. It's very easy to...trip on something in this man's apartment).

Thoughts?

So rather than a grandmother figure, you'd want to be Scar's grandpa? That works for me, I can go back and edit the setup a bit so that works out better.

I can write either The Wolf or Hunter as well if nobody's interested but I think it'd be the most fun to see this story from multiple angles, which means multiple people would be the most fun

RE: Who likes fairy tales and murder?? - AgentBonkers - 04-05-2017

Could be a friend of Scar's grandma if you want to keep the grandma bit, or could be her grandpa, whatever works for you? (If you want to keep it as her grandma, I could do a bit of that too...perhaps grandma contacts granddaughter because she's distressed something happened to her neighbor/friend, the grandpa guy...)

I agree, multiple people would sound fun.

Grandpa totally works! I'll probably make a post soon and just leave it open in case anyone else wants to jump in, but as you can probably tell I've been a bit stressed so it may take a few days :/

Are you guys still looking for a "wolf"? I have an idea that may or may not work. I can modify her to fit the story, but traditionally she's been a cannibal shapeshifter (who acquires new forms by eating the heart of her victims). I thought she might fit?

Sure, yeah! Works for me. I'll try to get a post up this afternoon and we can get started. :D If anyone wants to come in later they can hop in idc
