Locking and Archiving Threads - Tindome - 09-07-2015

When players are done with a thread - regardless of whether it's complete - moving it to the archives is a good way to keep it from remaining mixed in with the live threads.

For the purposes of locking or archiving threads, or both, I need to hear from all involved players in order to confirm that everyone is okay with the end of the thread. Posting a request in General Chat is probably fine, but to be absolutely sure I receive the request, it can be PMed to me. Clarify whether the thread is complete or incomplete for the purposes of archiving. Not all locked threads need to be moved to the archive, but all archived threads will be locked, so be sure that it looks the way you want it in terms of formatting, headers, etc.

Archiving threads is not obligatory, but clearly telegraphs to other players how many of your threads are actually active, and how busy you really are. Threads archived as complete may also be more friendly to those wanting to read 'backstory' threads, or who want an idea of how your threads tend to play out.

Locking threads is also not obligatory, but may be useful for things like Seeking threads where no new partners are needed.

As an admin I also have the ability to move individual posts between threads, if so desired. However, I cannot rearrange the order of posts; posts will still be ordered by their original post time.
