A Gallow's Reprise. Rapture x Shade. - sarki - 08-08-2015

What is the price we pay for the crimes of others?

No one really knows anymore...All that matters is searching for the goal we all set for ourselves.
The fall of Nightsky city, was just the start of the horrid adventure that stood before the male, so much had happened in the course of those few years. So much pain, so much faith lost, such sorrow lost within the mind of one.

No one could really tell how much time passed, in the youth’s mind. How many questions were asked, how many times he yelled at his inner self to move forward, and push through the groggy sea that he had sunk down inside of.

Captured, at the awakening of the one known as The Reaper, he was interrogated. His skin, cut down, a couple of his organs damaged, bone shattered, all to get information of the one he carried the blood of. However, even as The Goddess’s guard continued to torture him, he never broke...In hindsight, he kinda of wished he did, for what came afterwards.

Once the son of the Devil helped him escape the Inquisitor, only to be recaptured....By the Reaper this time....

The price of being saved....
Part of his soul stolen...
Haunting memories...
Insomnia...

Panting, the amethyst hues glared across the small room at the man who grinned from cheek to cheek, this man said he had information that he wanted to find ‘her’. Spitting a wad of blood onto the ground, a bit of the white ash and amethyst locks drifted into his face, kissing against the sand toned skin, the lower half mask, still covering up to his nose, as he took in a deep breath.

“So...Young Nightsky, this information I have isn’t what you wanted...However, it lured you out, as your father wished...” The shadowed figure spoke out, his tongue coiling against the blade of a dagger. “No music box for you at all, you can’t win this..So just give in aye?” Once again the voice called out, followed by a small chuckle.

A sigh passed the youth’s lips, before he forced himself forward, feeling the bindings around his wrists, loosen a bit. This was what he was wanting, this man had information on ‘her’ he knew it, if they were hunting her...That meant they had a clue of where she had ran off to this time. “Sorry mate....” His words careful at first, the amethyst hues drifting up words, a smirk curling against the fabric of the mask, before his body spun, kicking upwards towards the man. Only to knock the shadowed figure down the ground. One hand moved over the other’s wrists, as he begun to rub at it. Scars showed, where manacles had been left on him for a while, where he had dug the metal into his skin, trying to escape.

Shifting the eyes upward, the man begun to show panic, as he squirmed beneath the foot of the male. “Hey, hey! I I’ll give you whatever information you want! But, that won’t save the one you seek boyo...She’s as good as gone, once the Master finds her...He’ll make her into a beast...Turn her into one of those disformed creatures he creates...It’ll be beautiful...” He spoke grinning, trying to hit the sore spots of the boy that had him pinned. Remembering that from the data that was given to him, the boy would think before acting.

Amethyst orbs shifted down to the man once again. Not a word escaped, as a small laugh passed his lips. A hand moving to his face, his digits pressing against his forehead and temple, now his laughter boomed into the dark room. Now his head lowered, as the chuckling began to die down. Was this guy serious? Did he not know the other target? Was his father’s men, truly this stupid? “Oi...” He spoke out, as he lowered himself, a single digit, moving towards the man, before gathering what he needed, the location of the files. “...First off, I don’t think you meesy little pups, can even land a finger on her...Second off..” This time, anger flared in his voice tone, his hand clenching into a fist. A dark green presences of aura starting to infuse around his skin, his arm raising, the dead lock amethyst hues glaring at the man below. “I would not allow some gallowed insect to touch her in anyway...Even if it was my father...You scum.” His voice spoke in a whisper, before his fist slammed down against the man’s head, surely crushing it, after the first hit...However he didn’t stop, until his body was covered in the other’s blood.

Standing up, he shook his arm a bot, flexing his hand out a bit. “Fucking..Idiots threatening....Her..” He muttered beneath his breath. His eyes shifted around, before he quickly made his way towards the station the hunter had created in the back of the room. Grabbing the files, his body faded off to another place now.

Many refugees, made their way to this city..Once called the Cost of Remorse, it harbored the home of a lot of the Night race’s people, after Seph’s strike and rampage against the city. Well, those who survived the onslaught, and wasn’t of the Goddess’s order. A bilgewater town, filled with thieves, pirates, bounty hunters, mercenaries, that type of place. It seemed, like the best place to lay low for the longest time. In a way, one could say it resembled the town that The Underground was based in, only added with a port side, and a sea traveling out across the view. Coin was accepted everywhere in this shallow town, it was how you made your way across anything here, and not a care in the world, was given how you obtained it.

On the corner of the main street, an apartment sat above one of the taverns, it’s windows, looking out to the port, as well the gallows. Within the home, it would look as though it had cost a lot of coin to obtain, looking as though it was modern, and not like the rest of the town. The sound of water being ran sung out across the small apartment, as Shade stood within the shower, his head looking up at the Shower head, letting the water wash against his face and hair, cleaning the blood off of him. The amethyst hues watching the beads of water being fired down onto him, as a sigh passed his lips. This was becoming rather tedious, this search..This hunt as some would call it. His heart burned...Wanting to see the one that could bring him peace, ever since he had escaped from Seph’s grasps, all he had done was search for her.

The once slender form, that some would say would make Shade a perfect assassin, in which he was trained form. Now, his form had a bit more of an athletic tone to it, scars showed across his upper body, from where he had been almost flayed, stabbed, and other various torture techniques, to get him to speak. Stepping out of the shower, he began to dry himself off, before pulling a pair of black dress pants over his lower form. The towel now rested around his neck, as the shoulder length amethyst hair, mixed wtih the white ash highlights fell against his sand toned skin. A long scar across the bridge of his nose now showing, without the mask hiding it. Shade’s form had changed in the years that had past. Almost to the point, it’d be hard to notice him, unless you knew him on a personal level. This was all to hide, and bolster himself up against his father if the time came. Making his way across the living room, he’d enter his kitchen, before grabbing a bottle of the homemade grog folks had crafted around here. Reaching for a small scotch glass, he’d throw a couple pieces of ice within the container, before returning to the couch in the living room. Pouring the drink, the amethyst orbs drifted down to the table. The glass moved up to his lips, as he relaxed back against the couch, his leg propping up against the other. Every file, of events that was classified, as “RAPTURE” sat out before him. Some of them, seemed too fucking stupid to place under the girl, however there wasn’t a doubt in his mind that she would do something like that.

The hunters, had trouble finding her...He was having trouble finding her. Another sip of the alcohol, was passed down his throat, his eyes still studying over the pictures, of the detailed work, that the Goddess’s Order and Seph had done for tracking her down.

They say obsession, is an unhealthy habit...That it can lead one to the their own ruin...For Shade, it was something he must endured, and fight against, no matter how much it hurt him, how much it shattered him. Bringing the cold rim of the glass up to his lips, he took a small drink, his eyes closing, as he sighed a bit. A soft hum passing his lips, the same tone of the song that escaped from the music box, she had stolen from him a memory, that lead him to a place of finally being accepted, of being wanted. His eyes stared down at the picture of Rapture, it was old..It had to of been taken before the time they had last met, a small smile passing his lips as he held his glass up, taking another drink from it, before the humming continued on.

The purpose of humming..Would be to ease his mind, to keep the insanity that the insomnia had brought on him, it helped him keep his mind straight, and from straying off to a panic state, as well, it was to call to her. Picking up one of the papers, he leaned back, his eyes reading over it, as his arm moved to rest on the back of the couch. “Where are you...You annoying bratty child?...I miss you...” Mumbling to his self, he sighed once more. The song continuing, as his eyes studied every single bit of detail that was given, that he had stolen, that he had bought, everything for the purpose, to find the one he adored, the one he leaned on, the one he was wanting to protect...

Even if it meant saving her from the truth...

It was something of a surprise that hunters couldn’t find her, not that the girl in question really understood why the hell anyone chased her but… well, aside from the one that she wanted to chase her—that she knew of. Bunch of idiots tagging her from one realm to the next, spouting off at the mouth about wanting to take her in. Ha! Take her where? To dinner? Ohhhhh…. eggrolls would be good about now. Man she was hungry…

It was his fault! All she done was leave for five measly seconds and poof! Gone when she got back. Not cool, not cool at all. As a result she’d spent the better part of… how long had it been? It didn’t matter. She’d spent A REALLY LONG TIME running around from one place to the next, bored half of the time and the other half playing tag with people who apparently didn’t get the rules! And she knew the rules! He’d tagged her last time and now it was her turn! He was just… making so hard…

A pout formed on her mouth, pale lips pursed—the lower more than the upper. You couldn’t play a game if you couldn’t find the other party! This was tag, not hide and go seek, damnit! She huffed, sighing, and then blew upward. The action upset her bangs briefly, spreading them for a few seconds. Amber-gold eyes were watery—frustrated and then she whined a noise before stomping her foot. Her gaze focused on a dark shadowy creature of a dog—jackal—next to her on the wooden platform.

“Can’t dogs find people with their nose?” she asked the beast that looked more hellhound than anything else. Wisps of cloudy black fell away from a hollow frame; what looked like a ribcage of the same color was exposed. The creature cocked his head, long and tall ears twitching. Razor sharp teeth gnawed on a paint brush, the tipped end dripping purple. “No?” she asked next, seeming to understand his non-human response.

Her hands went to her hips and she straightened. “Arg!” she growled out. In turn, the dog-like creature howled, dropping the paint brush. When she was done she eyed the giant billboard before them. “It doesn’t matter,” she said next with a deep inhale. “First we make this super useful sign! Then!” she pumped her fist in the air. “We drink, dance, and party until we can’t stand!” She grinned then, canines wholly apparent. In the next breath she shoved the fallen paintbrush back in the canine’s mouth to point that it would have choked any other animal. Then she picked up her own and went back to her Full-Proof Art Project.

It was plan W, and it would work. It would!

“Operation: Find Super Sexy Violet Eyes commences now!” she said loudly. “Unless were attacked. And theeeeen we’ll kill some bitches and keep going.” she nodded assuredly as her partner dipped the paintbrush into the bucket between them, making a mess and continuing. As they worked she hummed, dancing to a soundless beat.

Long hair swayed as she worked, some of it braided and some of it just totally at the mercy of the wind. It brushed along a cut off pink tank top and her bare middle back, barely touching the waistband of her black shorts and the belt that hung over them loosely. Colorful sneakers splashed with a rainbow of stripes squeaked along the wooden planks, and knee-high socks in pink and black hugged her calves. It wasn’t as medieval as what she used to wear, but her tastes changed as quickly as the wind. Her hair was much longer than it had been before; though, that could easily be blamed on laziness or distraction instead of taste.

It didn't take long or anything in this town to get around...

Another glass of Grog gone, how many did this make? Eight? Or twelve, he had lost count, between that, and the left over pizza he was eating, as he read over the files. The sound of the coms between the crews of pirates, that had set up down in the center of the town now...

Now some ruckus was being made.  Blinking a few times, as the words.
"Some strange painting of a violet haired man, with violet eyes. If anyone looked like this...They must be one ugly son of a bitch... "

A deep sigh rolled past Shade's lips, as  he stood up. Half of the pizza slice still hanging from his lips, the long amethyst strands of hair drifting down his face, quickly he rushed to his bed room, he grabbed on what would be his weapon for now, a small 9mm, it would work until he needed to call onto the elements, if a fight did break out. "I swear..." Was all that escaped from his lips, before a small noise was made from the dark of the room. A small dark purple owlet landed on top of his head. "You be my eyes ahead..." He muttered as his head shook. Not even caring to put on a shirt, or a jacket, he jumped straight for his  bedroom window.

This had to be it, something inside of him sent chills through out his form. This time it wasn't a joke, it wasn't something he could just remain seated on his couch and listen about over the pirate crews coms. His heart pounded, as he heard the pirate crews now rounding their gangs up to see what the hell was going on in the center of town,

"Forward, don't let whoever...." His sentence stopped, as his eyebrow twitched, a vein now appearing on his forehead, as he remembered the wording the pirate used about the drawing. "I'm going...To....Kill...her..." He spoke out, as his continued to rush forward, a light blue aura lighting around his body, using the element of wind to carry him faster through the streets, through the turns, through the maze that had been set up to stop theives from escaping the captain's chase.

Damn, damn, DAMN! Why did this place have to be so big!
His heart pounded even more, as he felt himself growing closer.

Two more corners...

One more straight away...

Why did he feel like this?

Why did it feel like his life was just in his hands, about to slip away? Like it was a fear that had been introduced to his mind.

However, as he reached the square, he waved his hand for the pirates to back off, his eyes moving towards the board, then to the girl, then..To "What...The hell....Has she dragged out now?..." His words wa slow, as he muttered to his self. His hands folding into his pockets, as he started to make his way towards her, still about a hundred feet away from.

The violet orbs lit up a bit, in the darkness of a streets, however a loud whistle, was released from his lips, to signal he was approaching her, more so to get her attention.

Seriously, what the fuck was helping her.....

Draw...A picture, that didn't look...Any fucking thing like him?

“No, no no!” she scolded herself with a scoff. “His eyes are all lopsided!” She looked down at her partner. “It doesn’t look right, does it?” She must have looked a little sad because all the creature did was shrug. Her eye suddenly lit up. “I know! You get on my shoulders and then we can just paint his bangs longer! His hair was always in his eyes anyway…” she mumbled, stained fingers touching her lips and in the process smeared paint along her chin and eventually cheek. “Yeah, we’ll do that. C’mere!” In a disarray of limbs and yips from the hellish devil dog, somehow she managed the help him up on her shoulders, paws trying to gain purchase around the top of her head while she held his sides—paintbrush still in her hand.

“Lets’ do this!” she shouted, nearly falling, but managing to steady them while more paint coated her forehead and hair. Long braided strands came slightly undone as she stepped forward. As the dog began to paint worse than he’d been doing before, trying to cover up the lopsided eye, Rapture went on trying to paint in a creepy-toothed grin that was nothing like the man in question.

And then the whistle came. She stopped and her eyes shot up towards the beast. “You hear somethin’?” She didn’t wait for him to reply, just held onto his sides and turned quickly. The dog yipped and dropped the brush over the side of the platform as she looked down. Amber-gold orbs narrowed as she peered down.

“Oh! Spectators!” she called out, waving a hand and grinning. She cupped her hands around her mouth and shouted. “HEEEEY! HAVE YOU SEEN THIS MAN!?” And then she pointed behind her while the dog held on, eventually scrambling off of her and back onto the platform. “IT’S MY TURN TO TAAAAAG!” she called just before a man came into view under a street light.

Her heart skipped, hammering in her chest next. The grin that came after was bigger than the last. She knew that aura anywhere. “SHAAAADE!” she shouted, once again cupping her hands. And then whoop of joy before she leapt off the platform, aiming to fall right on him with arms wide open. “Found you!”

A Gallow's Reprise. Rapture x Shade. - sarki - 08-08-2015

Pointed ears twitch as she called out to him. His eyebrow twitched a bit. "THAT LOOKS..." Before he could finish, the amethyst orbs watched as she jumped up into the air. A sigh passed his lips, as she landed on him with her arms wrapped around him. One arm moved around the girl, before his fingers snapped, from keeping his back hitting against the ground, and scrapping it up any or even worse the two of them rolling around the dirt.

"Would you keep it down!? Before someone comes out and tries to shoot us?" He'd shout out to her, his eyes moving down to look at her, as now he guess she'd be clinging to him. The amethyst orbs looked up a the billsign, as he looked towards what she was saying was a drawing of him. So all this time, he was looking for him, she was searching for him. However, she said she was still trying to play tag. His other arm went back to his side, as he let out a deep sigh.

She'd be able to feel it, the rush his heart was in, how it rapidly piston, like it was him falling in love with someone all over again. He didn't need to say another word, he knew within the matter of a few secon....Nevermind, milliseconds, she would be firing off her mouth to say everything she wanted to say, everything that she had kept inside of her, for the longest time she had been searching for him.  The amethyst orbs held a sense of longing within it, now his other arm came up. His hand moving to pat her on top of the head, messing up the white ash hair, that resembled their father's so much.

She was already back, and she was trying to harm him. Not only that, she had made him look disfigured, and hideous within her painting, as well. THE FUCK WAS THAT DOG THING PAINTING WITH HER?! That could wait though, his other arm wrapped around her, pulling her close to him.

"I guess..I'm it now...You won.." Was all that he could say at the moment now. His heart still raced, skipping beats. How long had it been since he felt a sense of wanting? A sense of peace? A sense of fucking confusion? Even though it was annoying, it was gladly welcomed.

His long search was over...

For now...

A Gallow's Reprise. Rapture x Shade. - Blade - 08-09-2015

When he caught her she didn’t just wrap her arms around him, but her legs also. Her body became twined to his like a coiling rope—or maybe a leech seeking blood. Probably an over exuberant snake who just wanted to cuddle; that made more sense.

Skin! Delicious skin! He didn’t have a shirt on! She kept the grin up, pressing her face to his bare neck and breathing in the smell of him before biting playfully. She squeezed once, unwilling to let go. She didn’t even mind that he’d yelled at her; just hearing his voice was enough to appease her appetite for now—feeling him and not just thinking about him.

Oh! But he was happy to see her too. She giggled when he pet her head—adoring the attention while at the same time basking in the way his heart wouldn’t stop hammering well enough to be felt through the thin fabric of her tank top.

“I did!” she shouted in response to her winning, pulling back. Her hands held onto the back of his neck as she leaned. Paint still covered her face and hair—her arms and chest. Some of it had rubbed off on him, but she didn’t notice. She had too much to tell him!

She frowned. “It’s all your fault!” she started, “I leave for a few measly seconds and you gone! Didn’t even give me a chance to count, or get a kiss, before disappearing! Well, it’s not hide-and-go-seek; I don’t have to count. But still! It wasn’t very nice!” she told him loudly. “And then other people wouldn’t leave me alone.” She huffed, her body jerking against his--her hips against is--and her hands inadvertently pulling on his neck. “Like, forty of them—no, a hundred! They all kept telling me I ‘needed to go with them’,” the last bit she said in a gruff man voice imitation. “Go with them where?” she snorted and rolled her eyes. “I told ‘em to fuck off but all they wanted to do was play tag. It wasn’t even their turn—idiots. And everyone knows you don’t play tag with guns, or swords, or whatever…

“Oh! And but then I lost them for a while and wound up in this really coooooool place with a lot of dead people and graves. It was icky, but super awesome. I met Spot there. I was going to leave him behind because I don’t think you’re supposed to take in stray pets, but he just kept following me and I still have no idea what to feed him. Does he look hungry to you?” She glanced over at the beastie who’d finally come off the billboard’s platform and now stood a few feet behind where she was wrapped around Shade. “I’m so hungry by the way. You got any eggrolls? Or cake? I love ice cream cake. With sprinkles! I—.”

She stopped entirely as she looked at him—really looked at him now. The frown that came over her features was not like the playful one before… but rather sad—really sad. His hair…. what in the flying fuck had happened to his hair? She looked almost serious—somber. “What…” she started, “What happened to…” And then she looked down at his chest. One hand released from his neck; half stained fingertips caressed along scars, touching gently.

“What…” she murmured, confused.

A Gallow's Reprise. Rapture x Shade. - sarki - 08-09-2015

An eyebrow quirked as she started to nuzzle into his neck, and get the purple pain all of his form. A small shudder firing down his spine as she bit into his neck. Of course, she was going to get her taste of him. But as she started to explain to him everything, the thought of yelling at her that he would have to take another shower, passed his mind. Steam rolled out from his pointed ears, as though he had already got lost, within the first eight words she spoke. She had went to complaining about him leaving, then about being chased, about people who hadn't even been part of her game of tag, and having weapons and stuff, then about that wretched dog...Wait..Graveyard? Dead people.

His eyes widened as she spoke out about the place she had visit, and the way the dog looked. However the panic was pushed aside for a moment. His head tilted as she started to get sad, asking what had happened. His hand came to the top of her head once again, as he pulled her close, trying to draw her mind away from it. "We'll talk about it later..Alright?" He spoke out, as he rubbed her back a bit. It wasn't something he meant to do, he rushed out of the house, when he could of thrown on a shirt, as for his hair he could of just lied and said, that he had dyed it that way.

"As for the mutt..." He spoke out sighed, he really didn't want that thing anywhere near her, or him as the matter of the fact. Did she gather that from Autumnari?...The place she described..The way it looked, it looked like something that Seph had crafted with a slight of bit of interests, to join the hunters in hunting people down. Damn, this could be bad. But he couldn't argue logic with Rapture, it would be like arguing with a child, while eating crayons was bad.

Leaning down, he nuzzled the top of her head. "Hey, let's go back to the apartment..And get some food alright? And a shower as well..Since you're covered in paint..And now I'm covered in paint.." He exclaimed, before starting back towards the apartment, carrying her still in his arms.

Damn, this was going to be rough. She was going to whine and pester him til he answered her, whenever that would be.

A Gallow's Reprise. Rapture x Shade. - Blade - 08-09-2015

She was still pouting when he drew her in with his hand resting on the back of her head. She let him, sighing as her cheek went to his shoulder; mollified for the moment and content to curl her arms back around his neck lazily as he rubbed circles into her back like a overwrought child. She wasn’t sure she wanted to talk about it later… better judgement begged that she wait until they were behind closed doors. Still, she let it go—perhaps too contented to be held.

“What about Spot?” she mumbled, still pouting. Did he not like her new friend? She wasn’t sure she could get rid of him even if she’d wanted to. There’d been a few times she’d gone through a portal, only to pop out somewhere else without him, for him to find her again—smoke pouring off of him like a black ghost or a demon spawn. A cute demons spawn, but a demon spawn nonetheless.

As he started walking her mind went back to the scars—his hair. Her fingers reached, tugging at it even as he nuzzled the top of her head. She opened her mouth to restart that conversation when he mentioned a shower. And thus she drew up in his arms once again, eyes wide and filled with something joyous—if not a little mischievous. She grinned.

“Together?”

All the while behind them the jackal-dog padded along, following.

A Gallow's Reprise. Rapture x Shade. - sarki - 08-09-2015

He sighed as she mentioned the dog, surely it was going to have to come back with them. He gave a shrug, as he turned his head back towards it. Another sigh passing his lips, before watching the Owlet land on top of it's head, a small noise escaping from it, as it used the Hellhound to travel back to the apartment, as though it had been the bestest friend the hellhound had ever had, already.

As she got that devilish look in her eyes, he gave a shrug. "I've already taken one, but now you've got me covered in paint, I suppose we can...I think you planned that out, either way." he scoffed, before offering a small smile to her, as he continued to make his way back home. This was what he was waiting for, his eyes closed, as he let out another sigh.

"This time..We don't disappear from each other..Alright?" He asked, he knew that it would be difficult, to keep her to staying in one place. Even if he had to follow her, he didn't want to be away from her. Something inside of him, made that known even as he tried to hide, how much pain, lack of sleep, and stress he had spent trying to find her. However, once they returned to the apartment, she'd see...

Finally approaching the apartment, he'd move his boot to open the door. "In.." he said. The owlet making a noise as it jumped up and down on the Hellhound's  head, til made it's way inside, once it did, he'd carry Rapture inside, before moving to sit where her rear was on the back of the couch. "Go ahead, and find a place you want to order some food from..." He spoke out, as he removed his arms from her. Order menus, laid out across the table, with the bottle of Grog he drank earlier, as well all the files, and pictures of her.

A Gallow's Reprise. Rapture x Shade. - Blade - 08-09-2015

Pointed ears twitched and rings—bells—chimed and she continued to grin at his response; like a cat who got the cream. But then she blinked. “Planned? I didn’t plan anything aside from Plan W—and that didn’t involve getting paint on you,” she told him rather seriously, thought it was hard to take in any way, shape, or form as serious. “It just happened.” She nodded in some sage sort of manner, eyes shutting briefly. “Buuuuuuut it worked out—‘cause now I gets to have you nekkid in da showah!” Another grin as she rubbed her nose along his in Eskimo kisses.

She pulled back to ponder his next statement. “I thought we were playing game… were you not playing a game with me?” Her brow knit as she thought this over further. As she did so, he was entering the apartment. The jackal clamored in after the owlet, just barely missing the door shutting on him. Though, really, it wouldn’t have been a problem if he had to get in. Phasing through the door was easy enough.

When he set her down that seemed to tug her out of her own mind. She steadied herself as he pulled away, and, once again her eyes were drawn to his hair…. the scars. She reached out before he pulled away entirely, eyes rippling a lower lip jutting in a gentle pout. Her fingers grasped at his pants, at the waistband and hooked. It wasn’t enough to actually hold him there, not really. It was probably as close as she’d get to asking for permission to keep him tethered.

“…What happened?” she whispered.

A Gallow's Reprise. Rapture x Shade. - sarki - 08-09-2015

His eyebrow twitched as she teased about getting to see him all naked, and get to shower with him. "Yeah, yeah. You'll get that. After you eat." He repsonded to her teasing manner. Before blinking a few times, as she tugged at his waist band to keep him close. A deep sigh now rolled passed his lips. He moved around the couch, before sitting down on it, pulling her down into his lap, since she wanted to keep him tethered to her.

"When I left..I had gotten some information, about father getting close to wake up...When I heard it, I left your little haven...After the few days that I went to gather the information through my source, I returned back there. You wasn't there, however...The Goddess of The Nightsky's men were..." He exclaimed, explaining everything he could to her. Another sigh passed, his arm moving around her, as his eyes shifted off. "..It was an ambush, I was captured, and taking back...To Nightsky City..There they tortured me, trying to gather information on father..And you.. even though I had not a damn thing to tell them..My cousin Julian, well our cousin...He busted me out of there, knowing that I was being tortured, starved, beaten close to death, and kept wide awake the entire three months I was there.." He continued, a small shrug passed his shoulders. "Once I got free from her..Well..A week or two later, while trying to figure out where you was, and if you was safe..I was caught by father and his hunters..While I fought and tried to escape..A part of my soul was ripped from me...And well you know..These white streaks showed up in my hair in response..And I lost the voice of Shadow..I no longer hear brother inside of my head. And you know how it gets when I'm alone...I start to lose my mind..So..I searched for the one person who accepted me, and wanted me around." He finished, as he tilted his head back once again.

"It won't happen again...I've trained, and worked myself to the bone..Just to prevent this happening again...However, this more athletic form annoys the piss out of me..Since..It suits Julian and Uncle Kito more..." He rambled on, trying to get her to not think about the subject. His hand rubbing her lower back, before he leaned down, letting his nose rub against her's as she did to him, his forehead pressing against her's. "So..Stop letting it drag you down...Alright? My Rapture, is cheerful, bubbling full of joy, and even though I hate admitting it, over talkative, and like father..When he's not dark and evil."

When he mentioned food a smile cracked. Her tummy did feel a little empty… When was the last time she ate? Her nose wrinkled at that even as she held onto him. She was still contemplating whether it had been a few hours ago or yesterday afternoon when he sat down, making her yelp briefly as he pulled her into his lap. And then he talked—a lot. One long string of word that took her brain a while to process.

Mostly, what it all translated to her was: Somebody broke her Shade.

As he bumped her forehead against her she pouted; tears well in her eyes and she sniffed. It was probably better for her to be sad rather than angry. Though, there was no guarantee anger wouldn’t come shortly after.

She closed her eyes and curled up into him, top of her head under his chin and the front balls of her booted feet pressing into the sofa with the soles on his thigh. Wet paths were made on her cheeks, dropping onto his chest.

As soon as the tears splattered onto his chest, a deep sigh rolled from his lips. His eyes closing for a moment. He didn't know how to deal with this at all, she was usually. such a spaz, that she was full of joy and energy, and now she seemed so lost, so hurt, and upset. The long amethyst and white strands of hair, drifted of his right eye, as he started to nuzzle the top of her head with his chin. "Sometimes.." He spoke out, his hand rubbing her back, as though he was trying to console her.  He kept her close, as his eyes opened once more. "..You fight through pain and changes, to find you're way to the memories you want to have...And what you want near you." He whispered, his hand continuing to rub her back.

If it wasn't obvious, his mind was blank on how to take care of this. His eyes shifted, as he watched the Owlet move outside one of the windows, as though it had something in mind, to help it's master. Then again, that thing had a mind of it's own, and normally left and came back with a piece of paper, with an IOU for something on it, as though it had broken something, or stole something.

His hand trailed up her arm, before cupping her chin, as he raised her gaze up to his. "I'm not broken..I'm fine, see I'm still alive..My body may be a different build then it was before, and my hair may be mismatched. But I'm alive, that's all that matter aye?" He spoke out, before a vein popped in his forehead. "As well my eyes are still that violet you love so much..." He muttered out. It was nothing hidden, that Shade had the same hair color, the same eye color, as his grandfather, and his father, well before things happened.  He hated it, it was like he didn't have his own identity at all.  Shadow...

Shadow was blessed with pink hair, and pink eyes....The color of rose..He was suppose to be hope..Where Shade was suppose to be doubt.

He smiled, before leaning down, placing his forehead against her's once again. "Even through the pain...Even through the torment, I always kept moving forward, cause I had you to find..." He whispered his eyes closing, his nose nuzzling against her's. "..The soothing song, and joy, to keep me thriving to make it back out of the abyss." He continued on, as he'd place his lips against her's slightly. "Even if I'm seen as disformed...I'm still me." His breath rolling across her lips, before he'd press his lips to her's once again, leaving them there in a passionate kiss.

About that time. The Owlet would return, carrying a bag within it's talons. Dropping it onto the table. It would contain the eggrolls and the cake that she wanted. However, at that moment, with the IOU signed and addressed to him, Shade's eyebrow would twitch, seeing that the Owlet had used another IOU in this shady town, to get what it needed too.

When he nuzzled her she moved her hands from where they coiled up on her chest to wrap about his waist. It was difficult not to cry, to be upset. Someone had hurt him and the very idea of that didn’t settle well with her. Even so, she let his words wash over her; she focused on the sound of his voice more than the meaning. Rapture, by nature, wasn’t much of a deep thinker. She understood the intent though: he was trying to make her feel better.

“People hurt you…” she muttered softly, voice quiet as she blinked and rubbed her cheek on his chest. “I… I wasn’t there…”

Her eyes widened a fraction as he moved, as he placed his forehead against hers. Amber-gold seemed flash and then soften as he kissed her. It was difficult to stop herself from reacting, to keep her fingers taking a hold of the shirt that barely covered him—from tugging and gripping even as she returned it. When he pulled away she was frowning and her brow was knit.

..She wasn’t used to feeling guilt. Had never felt it before until now. Heard about it, had fingers pointed at her, words spoken meant to shame her; still, she’d always just grinned and went her own way. This… this was different. Shade had always been different. But he'd never been hurt before; he'd always been ok. He would, in her mind before, always be ok. She'd taken for granted all that he'd been.

Even had one hand remained holding onto the shirt she placed another on her chest, as if doing so would soothe the ache. She sniffed and tried to stop the tears before she looked up and met her gaze even as he twitched his brow at the owlet.

“Not broken…” she agreed. “But… they hurt you…“ She paused, blinked back a few more tears, and said again, "....I wasn't there."

Letting a sigh roll through his lips as she spoke out, continuing to rub against his chest, even nuzzle against his skin, he could tell how upset she was from all of this. One of his hands moved up to the top of her head, digits running through the long white ash hair, he despised. He kept her close to him, as he thought on what he had said, somewhat feeling bad that he had upset her from explaining what happened.

"Rule Two..." He spoke out, his voice soft, a distant tone of nostalgia in it, these rules. He remembered them all..All from Xerosa, their grandfather, and the Envy doll, the good Seph. They were beaten into his head at some point, to remind him through it all what to remember. "..As a child of the Reaper, always prepare for danger. As a protector of the damned, always be prepared to be injured in some way...The world of the race of Night, hates the Reaper, and the one's of his blood...Endure the pain and push forward to strengthen yourself from it..." He rambled, those words, that rule had gotten him through so much before. It was only wise to pass that rule, and one other if the time ever came, to her. They were made just for the children of the Reaper, and the future Reaper.

"Come on now.." He sighed, his digits still running through the white strands of hair, as his eyes once again gazed down at her. "I'm fine now.." He whispered once more, before pulling his hand from her head, and resting his chin a top of it. His hand moving to rub her back, as he tried to console and comfort her back to that cheerful sprout of a girl she was before hearing all of this.

Without a doubt, she was a living and breathing clone of Seph, he saw it more then anyone else, even if she didn't know their father. The emotional shift, the burden she placed upon her self due to the tragic events that took place on the one she cared and loved for, yet she..She wasn't dark like he was. And for that Shade wouldn't let her slip to that darkness.

He smiled once more, nuzzling the top of her head with his chin. "Stop thinking on it..Cheer up. You have me now right? You won tag as well." He spoke out with a little chuckle, trying his best to cheer her up still.
