She rolled her eyes as she followed him, blowing a bubble with her gum before sucking it back into her mouth noisily. She didn't bother trying to keep up with him, trailing behind on shorter legs. She stopped when he sat, blowing another bubble.

    It was a very clever solution to the problem. But then, they wouldn't be here if he wasn't very clever. His pun elicited a groan, another roll of her eyes. "It's probably going to explode," she said, which was usually what she said. But probably wasn't definitely, if not as good as could. "Won't know for sure until we try it."

    She split into two of her, identically smaller than the one of her had been, her tank top fitting even worse than it had before. Only one of her was still chewing gum.

    "Is it ready to go?" she asked with two voices, the Kiki chewing gum perching herself against the armrest of his chair. It wasn't sturdy enough to actually sit on it, but she leaned against it as if she might try anyway, cracking her gum.
