Unexpected Encounter [1x1] - Angel Kimmi - 07-04-2015

The sky above was a deep violet, not the almost pitch black that was common for nightfall on Earth and the night sky was missing any sign of stars despite the lack of artificial light. Still pale white light dappled through the canopy of silvery-blue leaves strong enough that it was possible to see without lamplight. It danced across large lake, glittering and shifting on the water. There was a path of roughly cut stone that moved around the lake and along different paths, while large white rocks with naturally occurring blue crystal were scattered around the lake, almost like seats but not uniform.

Grass and wildflowers were scattered along the clearing, some of them reaching towards the moonlight above that filtered through the trees. Surrounding the left side of the lake were a group of graceful weeping-willow like trees that swept downwards gracefully, almost bowing towards the water with its many slender branches. They fell almost like a waterfall, covered in awl-shaped green leaves and deep pink blossoms, some of which floated along the top of the clear water.

Nature grew in abundance and abandon around the lake. It showed that this place was one of nature, where it was cherished and looked after, lacking the destruction of Earth. The balance was very important here. That was not to say that there were not cities elsewhere built of stone, marble and glass, though even then there was a certain balance and beauty to the surroundings. Nature flourished even within the cities of this land.

<img style="avatar" src="http://i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/Kim_Irvine/banner3_1.png" style="max-width:35%;float:left;margin:0 18px;]<span>     </span><font color="#e6c519] There was a variation of colours in the leaves and therefore the leafy canopy, the most prominent were the large chocolate brown trees whose bark was soft and velvety to touch. They created a close canopy since their branches grew close together, their silvery-blue leaves almost heart-shaped and covered in soft fuzz almost like its bark. Violet, white and delphinium blue flowers scattered amongst the leaves, some of them having fallen to the grass and rock where a young man sat

<span>    </span> Within this oasis, this sanctuary it was quiet but for the soft songs of birds and the rustling of wind in the leaves. Comforted by the familiar sounds and sights that surrounded him despite his frustration. Sheets of paper were discarded and crumpled on the white stone that was perched on, some of which had fallen onto the grass below. Charcoal and pencils were in an organised row on the stone with the leather bound art book, the organisation at odds with the crumpled mess of paper surrounding him.

<span>    </span> Sighing softly he let the parchment drop to the ground once more as he leaned backwards, causing the long ebony strands to shift freely in the breeze and against the large white feathered wings that were folded behind him. Reaching up he brushed a few strands from his cheek and behind a pointed ear, silvery-black marked his fingers from the charcoal, streaking against his skin.

<span>    </span> It just didn’t look right, there wasn’t enough flow and freedom in the movements, the scene seemed too stagnant and frozen. It wasn’t any good. He thought as he watched the paper as it floated down to land with the other discarded drawings.

<span>    </span> Moving he slipped from the large white stone, landing on his feet without any trouble before he walked over towards the lake. Gazing into the water it reflected back like a mirror. Ducking down he picked up a smooth grey rock, smoothing his fingers over it for a moment before pulling his arm back before flicking it forward, letting the rock go and it skipped across the top of the water half a dozen times before sinking beneath the water.

<span>    </span> His reflection becoming distorted as the ripples moved and overlapped.

Falling. The sensation was overwhelming as feet kicked over head and spun in a vortex of freezing uncertainty. The slender male form was tightly snug in a special suit of black, the shiny fabric intricately interwoven with sensors and monitors that gauged his body and his immediate environment. He couldn't feel anything now, not even as his eyes from behind the sleek helmet with the visor down in case of exposure to burning sun light, watched his fists before him open and close. Maybe they'd finally done it- this was going to kill him and he hoped it would in turn kill them with remorse at loosing their precious monster. It all happened so fast but the stretch of time from the moment he stepped into the swirling angry pool of water to now felt like an eternity. They explained it calmly to him as he dressed in his special suit. There was going to be cold, like that of space, which he had thankfully only experienced pressed up against the hull of a spaceship where the metal sheets were thinnest. The kind that froze you instantly, but his suit would protect his body temperature. Bright flashing lights, solar flares were a potential in this, so he got a helmet. His tech would keep him in contact with him. But what they didn't know was if this would rip him apart at a sub-molecular level, or if he would be put back together correctly. There was a lot that could go wrong.

A high tolerance for pain sustained him, but the creeping scream from his senses and this nausea-inducing plummet pushed him to his limits. Just as he started to scream in frustration and pain, it all ended and he felt his body helplessly heaved into a space of gravity with light and he splash landed into a lake.

Unexpected Encounter [1x1] - Angel Kimmi - 07-07-2015

<img style="avatar" src="http://i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/Kim_Irvine/banner3_1.png" style="max-width:35%;float:left;margin:0 18px;]<span>     </span><font color="#e6c519] Likèreal was silently gazing at his reflection distorted in the clear rippling water when he felt something. It was an almost niggling feeling on the edge of his consciousness and he wasn’t at all sure what it was, he couldn’t quite put his finger on what it was that he felt. Until he suddenly realised that there was something strange in the energies of the area, a sharp crackling like noise above him as purple-white lightning crackled across the sky causing him to jump slightly.

<span>    </span> Moments later there was a splash, something had fallen into the lake.

<span>    </span> Curiosity and confusion waged in the honeyed gaze as he moved closer to the edge of the lake. He could see a dark shape within the water but not make out what it was beneath the water. Whether it was an animal that had fallen or something else entirely he couldn’t be certain – it could be something dangerous. It was something he was vaguely aware of but it didn’t stop him and large white wings faded from view becoming incorporeal, a shadowy hint of something that was there but not.

<span>    </span> Likèreal rarely looked before he leaped, a family trait or perhaps curse depending on opinion which originated from his mother’s side. Stripping off the soft fawn coloured boots and the white silk lace-up shirt that he was wearing before wading further into the water. It was slightly on the chilly side considering the time of evening, but it didn’t deter the young man as he continued deeper, long ebony strands fluttering in the breeze as the water soaked into the fabric of his tan slacks turning them a darker brown which inched closer the deeper he went.

<span>    </span> "Hello?" He called softly, his voice melodic and almost lilting in his language, not stopping to think perhaps they wouldn't understand. Or that they were unlikely even hear considering they were under water.

His muscles contorted in small clusters of lightning spasms, and his mouth gaped in his helmet for oxygen as his body adjusted to the shock of a third atmosphere change. He couldn't make his body respond, and he felt himself falling backwards and slowly sink. Lotus wouldn't drown, the suit ensured that, but the panic could so he forced himself to let his deadly body do as it willed as the moonbeams were eaten by the smooth lake and bubbles danced past his limp arms.

There was crackling on his radio but words were indecipherable at the present time. Something might have offset the link, one extra bit of work to tinker with when he finally crawled out of this watery area to something more solid. A large splashing sound made his muscles tense with adrenaline, not sure if some massive monster was about to eat him as a snack or not, or where it came from, so he surged back to the surface with powerful kicks.

His body surged out of the water with an angry blast, spraying a small tidal wave everywhere as he pulled out his small gun and held it into position, looking all around for an attacker. The helmet fogged over and small bits of slimy aquatic life clung to his wet form as he caught sight of the only thing in his vicinity, moving too quickly towards him.

“Desist your approach and identify yourself,” he demanded coolly.

Unexpected Encounter [1x1] - Angel Kimmi - 07-20-2015

<span>     </span><font color="#e6c519] He appeared to be in his late teens to early twenties, though he was older than he looked. He was close two six feet six inches despite his age, his broad shoulders and toned body was visible in the moonlight in his undressed state. Moonlight highlighting the planes of his chest and the golden, faintly luminescent skin. Long ebony strands blew behind him in the breeze and he reached up, pushing the dark strands behind an ear causing the blue faintly glowing crystal earrings to sparkle in the moonlight. A graduation present from his mother.

<span>    </span> Likèreal was curious. Air bubbles floated up to the surface, further disturbing the surface intermittently. What was it that had caused the strange disturbance and lay beneath the surface of the water, he wondered as he inched deeper into the lake. The water reached to upper thigh by the time something surged upwards and broke the surface of the water causing him to pause automatically in surprise though his curiosity was unabated.

<span>    </span> Honeyed eyes seemed to glow softly, though perhaps it was a trick of the light as he gazed silently at the strangely clothed individual. A strange suit of shiny black material, and a strange dome around the individual’s head. Likèreal cocked his head to the side in confusion at the words that were used, it was not their language – it lacked the lilting almost musical sound. But it was familiar, English wasn’t it? One of the most prominent human languages.

<span>    </span> He had been taught it through his education as well as a few other languages but it was not something he’d had cause to use in quite some time. His lips turned downwards in a frown at the somewhat hostile response. His words retaining the familiar musical lilt of his native language as he spoke in english, “I am not the intruder in this situation. There was a strange energy with your arrival and I was merely coming to check on you since you crashed so spectacularly into the lake."

The soldier continued to hold his gun trained on this larger stranger. He was bigger in size and his accent wasn't familiar to Lotus and he'd heard many variations across his travels of the universes. They might have stood there a long time, but Lotus felt water trickling in awkward places and it made him grimace in the foggy helmet, his nose twitching with discomfort.

He took time to look about behind and beyond the curious fellow with the archaic vernacular. Human-ish biological life form, but there was a strange intensity to his heat readings.

Probably another glitch, Lotus told himself.

The camera in his left eye shifted focus and tried to project into the horizon but the damn helmet was in the way. Oxygen content was approved, though there was a distinct lack.

Perhaps they were higher in altitude? He'd be able to find out later. Until then...

He slowly lowered his weapon, not removing his eyes from the man before saying, “I am removing my helmet. Step back.”

Unexpected Encounter [1x1] - Angel Kimmi - 08-16-2015

<span>     </span><font color="#e6c519] Likèreal was torn between conflicting emotions. One part of him was resentful of this strange individual that had crashed into the lake, shattering his tranquility and who had the nerve to speak to him in such a way. As if he didn't know who he was. Demanding that he move while holding some small hand held device he didn't recognize, in a mildly aggressive manner that led him to believe it may be some sort of weapon.

<span>    </span> It was almost as if -he- had been the intruder when it was clearly the other way around. But it was for this very same reason that the Angel was curious, his interest piqued and the flames fanned. This stranger appeared not to know who he was, perhaps he also did not know -where- he was considering the language used. He wished to get a better look at him though his current attire made it difficult, especially that large glass sphere that appeared to be on his head.

<span>    </span> Unperturbed by the possibility of the other having a weapon directed at him, instead focusing on getting out of the water. He had after all just gotten his clothing wet for no reason it seemed. Or at least not for a reason that was appreciated and the water was soaking further into the fabric - which was already sticking in not so comfortable places.

<span>    </span> Likèreal turned around and headed back towards shore, ripples flowing outwards from his movements, "As you wish. Please refrain from almost drowning in the lake then since you decline assistance."

<span>    </span>

Unexpected Encounter [1x1] - twilightrot - 09-01-2015

Slowly he lowered his weapon to his side before tucking it loosely into its place. He was there to gather information, not provoke, but a sample of a specimen brought back alive....Lotus shifted and slipped a bit on a weed-covered rock just under him, splashing a bit as he had started to manually override the bodysuit and force the helmet off. There were a series of complicated clicks and snaps before a sudden hiss release of pressurized air escaped. A moment to stay in a suction before the piece pulled off and a slender male with an elegant face was revealed. His roots were black as pitch but the tips were stark white, falling raggedly to his shoulders before he rapidly shook his head. His lightly tanned face and teal eyes all settled on the man before him with still intensity.

By this time, however, the stranger was walking away, disturbing the calm surface of the water. Lake? The situation was spirialing out of control faster than Lotus was used to. He reached up to adjust turn on his clear visor strap across his eyes, the little computer whirring to life with a soft green glow casting on his features.

Again, there was a strange heat pattern just behind the man who was leaving him, just to the side of him at his back.
Technology, Lotus scoffed with disgust.

"Wait!" He suddenly cried, deciding that this stranger would be the best way to explore.

Unexpected Encounter [1x1] - Angel Kimmi - 09-08-2015

<span>     </span><font color="#e6c519] Likèreal heard a splash behind him even as he continued making his way back to shore. As well as a series of clicks and other strange sounds, though he refused to turn and watch on principal despite his curiosity. A battle of willpower. Still he managed to resist glancing towards the sounds somehow...

<span>    </span> Still he frowned in irritation at the way the fabric clung wetly to his legs as he stepped from the lake, it was mildly uncomfortable and a part of him was tempted to remove them until they dried. But it was getting late. Bending over he tried to wring the excess water out of the fabric of his pants. At least he wouldn’t have soggy boots, he thought with a sigh as he walked over to his discarded shirt and shoes.

<span>    </span> The Angel paused at the sound of the accented voice and turned slowly towards him. Honeyed eyes sliding over the mortal. Without the strange helmet he was able to see him better. Fascinating contrast of dark and light hair tones that he didn’t think was natural, but what drew him in was the bright teal eyes and the intensity within them.

<span>    </span> Still shirtless, holding the fabric in one hand while the other settled on his hip. Sighing Likèreal said, “You tell me to go then you tell me to stop. Will you make up your mind?”

Unexpected Encounter [1x1] - twilightrot - 09-15-2015

Lotus sloshed to the water's edge with fast strides that left a massive wake in his path, the ripples expanding beyond the immediate shoreline. Slipping again, he bit his tongue casually to see how this stranger would respond. It was a chess game of character and Lotus wouldn't be able to get what he needed if he didn't know the other man's personality. He stopped short of the stranger, now that he had turned around with an air of impatience, chest fully exposed and Lotus tried not to stare at the perfection of the muscles and skin. Perfect. Too perfect. Were they all like this?

His heckles tried to raise as his own hyper sensitivity towards engineered sciences made him question if this whole place was an advanced projection of the future he knew. Did he go forward in time? Was this how everyone would be in the future? Or was this just a very very handsome man?

Because he spoke with such elegant fluidity, Lotus adopted a less militant tone to one of more refinement. "This situation is most awkward for me and I'm afraid it put me in a disagreeable state. Please forgive me for slighting your attempt of aid..." he trailed off a little sheepishly, adopting a pose with his feet that made him appear more genuine and approachable than assertive.

Unexpected Encounter [1x1] - Angel Kimmi - 10-06-2015

<span>     </span><font color="#e6c519] Likèreal was mildly exasperated by the array of orders that had been thrown in his direction by the stranger. Especially since they were contradictory in some manner, but nonetheless he remained stationary watching Lotus as he made his way to the shoreline. He was mildly impressed that he managed to leave the lake without drowning with all things considered, even if he did displace a significant amount of water with his exit.

<span>    </span> A smile tugged at the corners of his mouth once he caught the way the intense teal gaze lingered and slid over his bare chest. Unmoving as the gaze lingered appraisingly. He was not entirely innocent, he knew an appraising look when he saw it though usually that was combined with the foreknowledge of who he was. Something it seemed this individual lacked, which made it all the more enjoyable.

<span>    </span> Likèreal knew that Humans were dangerous, had heard of the War numerous times and the devastation that it had brought. He had only seen Earth and the mortals a handful of times. So this individual that had neither wings nor feathers, whose stature was less than his own by more than a foot leading him to be closer to a female’s height. It made him infinitely curious... and one individual was less dangerous than an army.

<span>    </span> “Think nothing of it,” he dismissed lightly with an elegant wave of his hand, though another part of him was thinking. They had wasted much time already since the appearance of the purple-white lightning that had flashed across the sky prior to the sudden appearance of this mortal. Likely his Grandfather already knew of the strange anomaly…and they really shouldn’t be there when others arrived to investigate.

<span>    </span> “I imagine you find yourself in a difficult position, since it is quite obvious that you are not from here.” He stated absently, before moving towards the remnants of his art project. Forming two golden symbols in the air though his back likely blocked this as he bent down and burned away the crumpled pieces of paper, erasing his failed attempts. Brushing his hands on the wet slacks before picking up his notebook and the wood and silver slender box that held his drawing supplies.

<span>    </span> Likèreal had a rather chivalrous habit he had of coming to the rescue of others though it was debatable whether this was an act of chivalry or to sate his curiosity. “We should go soon. They will have noticed your arrival.”
