Clan Blurbs

Clan Name: Vereaux
Clan Head: Chanceux Cahrou Vereaux (Lucky Vereaux)
Clan Colors: Blue and Gold
Clan Characteristics: Varying hair colors, some of which are not natural to humans. Varying wing colors, though most have an off white/alabaster coloration. Males are tall and lean, females are tall and curvaceous. The clan has been dubbed 'Hollywood Fae' in some circles. Roots steeped in the Greek culture, though their greatest appreciation is found in anglo-saxon art and decor from the fourteenth to the twentieth centuries. Currently, the Vereaux are the most influencial clan, thus possess first seat in the council. A matriarchy.

Clan Name: Englos
Clan Head: Cara Calista Englos (Seated held by Demetri Drova Englos)
Clan Colors: Gold and White
Clan Characteristics: Every member is blonde with blue eyes. Their body type is considered very 'vogue' with slender faces, limbs and torsos. Their wings are pure white. They resemble angels as they are often depicted in biblical writings. Their clan has been and remains to be the most prevalent driving force behind Swiss bank Accounts, as they often choose to horde gold and wealth. Their clan is known for it's claim of purity within the Fae because they hail from the Balts, Celts, and Slavs. They despise most other Fae, but for different reasons than the Quies.
Clan Specific Abilities: Chimestry (Illusion crafting)

Clan Name: Morandori
Clan Head: Marquee Cazal Morandori
Clan Colors: Yellow and Red
Clan Characteristics: Tan skin, gold or silver eyes, dark coloration to their wings. Males are exceptionally tall and broad, females are the opposite, being some of the shortest Fae (averages ranging around 5'7" - 5'10"). Their culture is a proud and militaristic one, with roots in early Persian and Mesopotamian civilizations. Their clan still reigns in Saudi Arabia as holders of several large hydrocarbon reserves. A patriarchy.
Clan Specific Abilities: Obeah (supernatural healing and regeneration)

Clan Name: Valencoste
Clan Head: Makhai Rusto Valencoste
Clan Colors: Brown and Silver
Clan Characteristics: Dark skin tones with dark hair and wings, the Valencoste are traders and merchants, living nomadic lifestyles, as they are not comfortable settling down. Of all the Fae, they are the most comfortable with other meta creatures, and have always been considered a non-threat in the fabric of the Fae political world. Their roots stem from the ancient African tribes, but they traveled the great oceans to the new world hundreds of years ago, and settled their bases of operations within Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, and Chile. Their eldest member is their clan representative.
Clan Specific Abilities: Protean (Shapeshifting)

Clan Name: Arden
Clan Head: Caspian Greer Arden
Clan Colors: Green and Brown
Clan Characteristics: Like the Vereaux, the Arden come in a variety of shapes and colors, though they are less extravagant in their appearance. Reserved and duty bound, the Arden clan is the most work oriented, and they are in charge of recounting the history of the Fae race. Knowledge is their weapon and they use it to ensure their survival and seat on the council, despite their clan being created initially as one of servitude. Every Arden is assigned another Fae to record the history of, and they are contract bound to be truthful in their recounts. They live where they are needed and travel just as often, if not more, than the Valencoste. Their eldest member is their clan representative.
Clan Specific Abilities: Mytherceria (Knowledge acquisition by any means)

Clan Name: Quies
Clan Head: Quintus Tusk Quies
Clan Colors: Black and Red
Clan Characteristics: Disfigured, crippled, and hideous. Every Quies member is different, but they are all impaired, and shy away from the light of day. Rumors circulate that they have been magically altering their lineage for thousands of years, as the first members of their clan were considered quite typical of the race. Now, they are seen so infrequently, they are believed to have died off from over experimentation. Quies wings are not usable and resemble broken, crooked bat wings. The Quies seat on the council had been empty for 114 years. They separated from the other clans as a form of rebellion, but have yet to act on their previous threats towards the council clans.
Clan Specific Abilities: Necromancy (Control of the dead)

Clan Name: Barris
Clan Head: Eon Rickard Barris
Clan Colors: Black, Silver, and Gold
Clan Characteristics: Dark hair, typically dark eyes, but pale skin. No wings. They're the ruling order in Arcadia, created from the six clans on the council to maintain order in the capital. They're known to be ruthless, cold, and utterly controlling, snuffing out even the smallest sign of disobedience from unaffiliated Fae. A ruling monarchy in appearance, they're actually the police force for the realm of Arcadia.
Clan Specific Abilities: Quietus (Blood magick)

Common Terms

Fae - Creatures of Arcadian descent. They are 'true fae' rather than lesser Fae because they were crafted in the Dreaming, which is a dimension separate from the fleshlands.
Lesser Fae - Fae born of nature within the fleshlands. Example: Pixies, Trolls, Boglings, Sprites, etc.
Glamour - The supernatural ability to cloak or alter ones appearance. All Fae have the ability to glamour their appearance to some extent. Some are better at it than others.
Lineage - The direct line of descent in a clan.
Legacy - The written and recorded history of a Lineage.
Watchers - Arden clansmen assigned to watch a charge. Only Arden can be watchers, and their information is kept in the Great library within Arcadia. All Fae history is recorded and kept there.
Charges - A Fae individual an Arden Watcher is assigned to. They are bound for life, and if the Watcher dies before their charge, they are replaced. If the Charge dies first, the Watcher is freed from their duty.
Fledglings - Newly made/young Fae. Fae are never children in the human sense, but they have a time before they are considered capable and mature enough to be acknowledged as 'adults'.
Contract - A promise made by Fae with another individual (Fae or otherwise) that must be kept by the Fae. Breaking a contract intentionally can be lethal to the parties involved.
Oathbreakers - A Fae who survived breaking a contract. This is a terrible crime and the Fae responsible is ostracized for committing the act. No other Fae are to acknowledge their existence.

Locations

The Fleshlands - The human dimension. The land of flesh and bone and physical limitations.
The Umbra - The spirit dimension. Directly connected to the Fleshlands, it is where dead mortal spirits linger as wraiths and remnants. Meta races can use this dimension for travel purposes as it is a mirror of the Fleshlands. Humans refer to the dimension as limbo.
The Hedge - A dimension of erratic magicks. All magical runoff leaks into the Hedge, and it corrupts those trapped in the labyrinthine reaches of the Dimension. It acts as a barrier between the rest of the meta world and the Fae specific locations.
The Dreaming - The Dimension closest to Arcadia, the Dreaming is where all Fae are recycled when they die, and their supernatural energy is used in the crafting of new Fae.
Arcadia - Home dimension of the Fae, this is only accessible by those of Dreaming descent. A paradise of glass-like structures and crystalline oceans, most Fae remain in Arcadia for their entire lives. There they cannot die without their permission through contract, and time passes differently than it does in the Fleshlands. Thousands of years in Arcadia could be a single day on the Fleshlands.

Religion

The Chorus of the Fallen - The only religion the Fae have ever followed, the Chorus of the Fallen is more of a story than it is an actual faith. The tale tells of the first three Fae and their downfall brought upon by the hands of humanity.
Thalia - The Mother. Thalia is the creator, the mother to all Fae. She birthed the Dimensions where they all descend from, and she lit the way for future Fae to exist away from humanity in Arcadia.
Falador - The Warrior. Falador, mate of Thalia, is the one who bestowed the Fae with their supernatural gifts to ensure they could defend themselves and protect their Lineage.
Rydos - The Betrayer. Rydos, brother of Fallador, betrayed the couple by giving away the secrets of the Fae to mortals, who used this information to tie down the race to dreams. Because of this, Fae are now as dependent on Humanity as mortals are on air, and no matter where they seek to be in the universe, humans must be present as well.

Governing Details

The Council - One member of each clan sits on the council (six in all, though the Quies refuse their seat), and they discuss the matters of Fae importance outside of Arcadia. Within Arcadia, Clan Barris has ruled since their inception, but they are not seen or heard from by those outside the Grand Palace and have no say in matters outside of Arcadia.
Prominent Titles - Every clan has an Heir, who is next in line for clan leadership, as well as a Eyr Dooul, which is a second in line after the Heir.
Scourge - The council has a position held by one Fae, who is the executioner to those deemed unworthy of being Fae. This position is usually filled by a very powerful and old Fae and is voted upon by the council.

Evolutions

Fae, when met with an obstacle they are unable to overcome, evolve to adapt to their hardships. This typically happens when they face closeness to death, and the process is painful and lengthy. This only occurs in the Fleshlands, which is why many Fae take their chances among mortals. This is the only means a Fae can strive to obtain in terms of self betterment.

Faerie - What most Fae are and will remain being. They possess their clan abilities as well as Potence, Celerity, Fortitude, and Presence.

Caetos/Brae - The second evolution is split, and a Fae can become either of these once, but not both. Caetos are built for combat and their bodies reflect this, capable of fighting in hand-to-hand combat rather than with more magically inclined means. Caetos' wings shrivel to nothing more than skeletons and their ability to fly is lost. Brae are the opposite, keeping their wings and earning a boosted use of magic, but their abilities are more geared towards defense and healing.

Faeren - The third form, Fae of Caetos or Brae receive a massive boost to their abilities, but require humanity's presence more than ever to control their behavior.

Driaox - The final known evolution of the Fae, Driaox are the most powerful a Fae can be, giving them the ability to learn otherwise forbidden magic such as Temporis. Unfortunately, with this great power, they must consume other Fae to keep themselves contained unless they keep away from the Fleshlands. Most Fae who reach this level (which is a small amount) retire and stay as far from humanity as possible.

Extra

Fae are linguists and can speak and understand any spoken language. They do not, however, know how to read. Typically, they must learn to do this while in the Fleshlands.
Fae do not give birth nor can they give birth. All Fae are crafted by other Fae. Sometimes by many Fae, sometimes by one - but they always come from the Dreaming.
Fae wings can be used for flight (except by the Quies, Barris, and Caetos), but rarely are.
Fae love human children, as their dreams are the most vivid and energizing. This sometimes leads them to steal said children to become Changelings. Changelings are humans who have been changed by the Dreaming, and they possess minor levels of magical abilities.
Fae would never craft another Fae to be a child, as contracts are sealed through sexual intercourse, and the Fae do not approve of any child-like creature being used for such purposes.
Fae love cats.
Fae hate any sort of shifting breed (Garou, Rokea, Bastet, etc) and avoid contact with them.
Fae hate Vampires more, as they think of them as a waste of Humanity.
Fae both love and hate humans, as they need humans to exist, but they blame them for most of their woes.
Fae do not actually have emotions, but instead mimic emotions they are surrounded by. Any emotional responses they show or give are learned from their time around humans.
Fae have tricolored irises that move clockwise around the pupil, pointed ears, and their wings resemble those of birds (except for the Quies and Caetos). Most are at least six feet tall, and can be upwards to eight feet. Morandori males are the tallest and Morandori females are the shortest.
Fae do not create 'ugly' Fae. Even the Quies were beautiful once.
