Alexandria: The Great Library - thedarkwyrm - 11-10-2014

The door to the library is massive, oak, and intricately carved. Despite its size, it swings easily on its iron hinges, opening onto easily the largest library you've ever seen. Bookcases fill it from wall to wall, each towering over your head in aisles like a labyrinth. In the center of the ground floor is a large spherical computer, swirling with information, most importantly, a catalog of the library's vast collection.

Staircases climb up the back wall, leading to more stories, and balconies. On these higher floors can be found reading nooks, as well as doors to rooms that serve various functions. Bedrooms, studies, kitchens, tea rooms, rooms that no one's quite sure what they're intended for.

The library's owner is likely somewhere reading a book, but if you enter, he'll know.

He always knows.

"Not sure why you wanted this old place. It's been years since anyone's been in here."

David smiled as the elderly man fiddled with the lock on the door. It was a pin-and-tumbler lock, no less, completely analog; he hadn't seen a lock like that on a building since he was a boy. "That's part of why I wanted it."

The door opened, and David stepped in past him, inhaling deeply. No other scent in the world could match up to the scent of old books. That scent, he believed, was the only reason that libraries like this still existed. Behind him, the elderly man flicked the switch.

A deep hum spread through the library, lights coming to life slowly, beginning with the ones at back. The brochure had said that the library was nearly two hundred thousand square feet, or about five acres. The building's footprint was only a single acre. It was unsurprising, therefore, to see the bookcases rising high above him, several floors and balconies towering over his head.

He took another step forward, running a hand over the nearest row of spines, feeling the dust that came off on his fingertips. Also unsurprising, due to the long neglect. The books did seem to be in good condition, however, and that was all that mattered. He'd heal the ones that had gotten ill, and the city would once more have its library, revered in times past as the largest on the planet.

"Will you be needing anything else? The number of a cleaning service?"

"No!" He shook his head. "No. I'll take care of the place myself."

1. Good spelling and grammar are a must. There is no post length requirement, just make sure other players have something to work with. I WILL report anyone who posts annoying single lines in my thread.

2. This thread is walk-in, but be careful! While I encourage thread-hopping, please consider how your character came to be in this place. Non-literary characters and generally loud people generally don't end up in a library. Post in the OOC if you want help brainstorming, I'll be happy to help.

3. Porn should serve plot, and not the other way around.

4. This thread is large enough to really justify location tags! Please indicate in the beginning of your post the location of your character to minimize confusion.

5. Please keep OOC and IC motivations separate. IC drama is encouraged, but OOC, not so much. To this end, is it encouraged to Roleplay in third person. (He opened the book, rather than I opened the book.)

6. Keep OOC to a minimum, such as small notes at the end of an otherwise IC post. If you want to chat or ask something before posting, head on over to the OOC thread I inhabit!

7. The Library is everywhere at once.  To this end, you can hop from the library to any other thread, even ones not on sci-fi boards, if there is a valid reason for your character to go there.
Taxi, information broker, and now room service.

He closed the door carefully, rolling the cart to the side of the bed, then sitting beside her gently.  "Rise and shine, my lovely firebrand," he murmured, gently stroking her face.  "I've made breakfast for you."  His wings gently unfurled, feathered tips slowly caressing her body through the sheets.

A smile came to her lips before she was fully awake, her head moving to rub her cheek firmer against his fingers. Tinder stretched like a feline under the satinesque sheet, its true composition a mystery she was too grateful for to contemplate. Then amber eyes blinked up at the nephilim who'd introduced her to tea, flight, and ecstasy all in the same day. "Morning?" she said/asked, groggy but feeling a jolt of warm delight that he'd stayed.

Or rather, came back. Her gaze searched Jesse's face. "You made breakfast...? Aha." Tinder slid closer to the edge of the bed, deeper into the embrace of his wingspan. "You don't just eat every dish on the globe," she teased. "You cook?"

Meanwhile, as Tinder woke, so did her phoenix. The sprite had presumably turned into the pile of ash which sat in a far corner of the room, now churning and coalescing into a dust devil that glowed red, then orange, then yellow before sprouting feathers and a tiny beak. A whistle charged the air of the room and raised the hair on the back of Tinder's neck. The little creature stretched, shook out its fiery wings as if, now fresh-born, it were ready to take flight and explore this place. With or without her. The phoenix prodded at the door with a beak now all sharp angles, then scratched with a blazing, hooked toe.

He grinned softly, wrapping his wing around her as he pulled her close, sitting her up beside him so the tray was in reach. "If I ate all those delectable dishes and neglected to ask how they were made, I would have made very poor use of my time." With his other hand, he lifted the lid of the tray, murmuring as he kissed her cheek, "I've prepared for you a sampling of world cuisine."

He gestured to the various small plates, naming their country of origin. "Thinly sliced sausages and smoked meats and cheeses, from Germany. Sweet pastries, from Greece. Eggs, poached, with a Spanish sauce. Russian oatmeal. Steamed rice and tamagoyaki, from Japan. And slices of several varieties of toast, from all over the world." He grinned softly, scooting the cart into position for her.

As he left her the food, he stood, going to the door and resting his hand on the knob. He looked down at the phoenix, giving it a very serious look. "If you set anything on fire, Alexandria will be very cross. You can explore the entire library without touching wood. There is stone and tile and metal enough for you to perch." He opened the door a crack, allowing the phoenix to leave the room.

So close, and Tinder inhaled the scent of him, tempted to nuzzle his neck, would have, except the scent of food dragged her away. Her stomach growled loudly and her head buzzed with the multitude of culinary decisions suddenly before her. Stars. How long had it been since she'd eaten? A tumble of events smashed into her brain that she tried to cover with a wobbly smile. Breathing in the contents of the tray as he gestured, and trying to let his thoughtfulness and warmth calm her as it had before, Tinder smoothed her palm over his knee. "This is amazing, Jesse."

And that he had done it for her? Overwhelming. Tinder grasped for a fork as he rose. Unable to decide which to try first, she turned plate after plate around on the tray and asked, "How in the world did you manage to prepare all of these?" Avoiding a piece of cheese the likes of which seemed like something she'd tasted before, on assignment at some ritzy gathering, she went for an egg and nibbled lightly. Still warm, so she needn't do so herself. Blissful on the tongue. She hummed in approval and reached for another bite, each dip of her fork by habit returning with enough for a taste, no more.

When he moved to see to the sprite that seemed to have taken a shine to being, Tinder arranged the heavier coverlet that had slipped down in the night more demurely over her lap. Absently, she rubbed her left arm, and, realizing she had done so, stared at the tanned skin that showed no sign of pursuit via electronic means. Tinder's phoenix glanced her way in response to Jesse's warning, seeming to gauge her state of mind with a searing look before an impatient chirrup of sound sprang forth. Then the creature was bobbing its head and taking off, slipping into the hall in a tumble of scattered, fiery feathers. Evidently, it was confident she wouldn't lose her cool. Wishing she could be as certain, Tinder patted the bed beside her and crooked a finger at the nephilim by the door.

Jesse swung the door shut behind the phoenix, leaning on it for a moment as he grinned at the woman beckoning him. He was quite dashing as he leaned, in his khaki pants and nothing else. His skin, which might have seemed pale in most situations, was quite colorful indeed with the backdrop of his pure white wings.

He pushed off the door and approached her slowly, sitting beside her, wrapping and arm and a wing around her, his skin caressing her waist lightly as he held her, soft wing brushing over her shoulders like a cloak.  "Something you needed, Tinder darling?"  He nuzzled her neck softly, just under her ear, deliberately teasing her.  "Or do you, perhaps, have a complaint about the meal?"  His eyes twinkled with amusement at the thought; without being arrogant, he knew he was a good cook.

Whatever she wanted, he had no qualms about coming to her.  Her warmth, her soft skin, her fiery scent... it all drew him in, and he had to actively exercise caution to avoid making the same mistakes as Icarus, and flying too close to something too hot.

Tinder smiled softly, dipping the tip of a spoon into the oats and, rather than lifting the bite, simply watching him. Approval filled her own gaze, the fearful images in her mind settling back as she tucked into a meal of eyecandy and homemade delights. "I'm remiss," she said, tilting her head to the side with a mock-mournful look, "You've made me this wonderful meal and I haven't even told you how beautiful you are today."

The look evaporated into a true grin as he returned to the bed, snuggling against her side like he belonged there. Safe, she thought, and loved that he was comfortable like this, with her, knowing that she was a torch that burned hot and wild despite her wishes to keep it tucked away. She licked the oats off the spoon, then dipped it again. Darling...a girl could get used to the sweet words from his lips, the way his wingtips and his hot breath over sensitive, bare skin made her nipples peak under the satin-but-not-satin sheet. "Only that you're not sharing enough of it with me. Honestly, Jesse, you can't mean for me to eat a world's supply of meals all in one morning."

Not that they hadn't literally burned off enough energy to make her ravenous. Eating the food wouldn't be a problem, though the way Tinder ate, it'd take the day. Eating alone would be strange, but the way he watched her do it, like he was pleased with himself--and maybe with her inherent reactions--she smiled despite her reservations, and it deepened as a different thought occurred. Tinder finished licking off the spoon and set it down, then scooted a tiny plate of pastries in front of him. Lifting one delicately between her thumb and forefinger, she grinned. "I believe you said Greek was your favorite."

Alexandria: The Great Library - thedarkwyrm - 11-12-2014

He could feel her body stirring under his touch. It was a very rewarding sensation. He grinned gently at her warm flattery, chuckling softly at her mock petulance. "It's hardly a world's supply. I think even Alexandria would be hard-pressed to supply that much, though she would try her hardest."

When she raised the pastry, though, he didn't try to argue. "Why, I think I did say that." He leaned in, 'accidentally' overreaching and taking her fingertips into his mouth, teeth gently brushing over the skin as his tongue flicked over the pastry and her fingers. Eventually he did pull back, slowly chewing the sweet, savory treat, a happy expression on his face.

"Mmm... Delicious food, being fed to me by a beautiful, naked woman. I knew there was a reason I cooked this morning." He grinned cheekily, eyes sparkling as he gazed down at her.

Alexandria: The Great Library - danixiewrites - 11-12-2014

Amber eyes twinkled at him. "It's delicious," Tinder conceded, one hand sneaking another taste onto a utensil while the other took a taste of its own, short nails tickling a spot on his chest. "Like you," came out softer, as though she hadn't meant to say it, especially not like that, something that could turn a compliment into a come-on.

She recovered her voice as she offered him the bite. "Oh dear..." she murmured with a grin as his tongue curled over her skin. The scrape of teeth sent a shiver down her spine and teased at the fire within her. "I brought it too close." She nibbled on a pastry as well, licking her lips with satisfaction. He'd done an amazing thing, here, and she was determined not to let a bite of it go to waste. Especially if it meant he'd stay...the more times that concern entered her mind, the more she wondered when it would happen, when he'd leave--or when she'd have to.

Tinder laughed, because his expression swept away thoughts that might ruin the morning. "Another taste, then, but this time, I'll try to get the target right." If Jesse looked close enough, he'd see the simmer of red under her skin. If the memories won, it wouldn't be a steady rise of pleasant warmth, but rather a chaotic course of unpredictable flame. Moving quickly before overthinking could allow such things to come between them, she slipped the blankets from around her and slid into his lap, curling up against his chest even as she reached behind her to pluck another treat from the tray. "Taste," she playfully ordered, and kissed bare skin.

Alexandria: The Great Library - thedarkwyrm - 11-12-2014

As she slid from the sheets into his lap, his wings gave a slight shiver of excitement. Something about seeing her tanned skin being revealed, not to mention the feeling of her warm skin against him, send a thrill through him, and he wrapped his arms around her, squeezing gently.

He opened his mouth and took the treat into his mouth. He didn't bite this time, being rather more accurate with his eating, though his tongue still slipped past his lips to brush over her fingers, enjoying the taste of Tinder's fingers almost as much as the taste of the pastry.

Meanwhile, his wandering hands caressed her skin, one hand sliding down her back to squeeze the girl's soft, firm ass, his other hand sliding up her side to warmly cup her breast, grinning softly as he chewed the pastry. "Delicious. And the pastry's pretty good, too."

Alexandria: The Great Library - danixiewrites - 11-12-2014

As he nibbled on the sweet, she bent to taste him, lapping tight little circles around a nipple. "It is, isn't it..." she mused, then sat up with a grin and a slight arch to her back as he teased her with matching warmth, kindling more, large hands easing over all the right places. "I won't get to eat everything if we keep that up." Tinder pressed her forehead to his collarbone. "I am quite hungry, and while I can reheat things well enough--you and I both know it wouldn't be the same."

No way was she going to take advantage of his hospitality--and kindness--by having him offer to hit the kitchens again. Horrified by the thought, Tinder planted her index finger over his lips, just in case. "I don't know if you're thinking it, but don't think it." Without so much as a hint of an explanation as to what 'it' might entail.

Turning in his grasp, she snuggled back against him, her arms spreading to pay long, lazy strokes to the tips of his feathers. "Are you keeping these out just for me?" Dropping her hands to the dishes while she awaited his answer, she eased her spoon off the tray, another dab of oatmeal on the tip. Again, her tongue snaked out for a taste, and her eyes closed in innocent pleasure.

Alexandria: The Great Library - thedarkwyrm - 11-12-2014

His wings flexed sharply as her hot tongue circled his nipple, then slowly relaxed again as he exhaled with just a little shakiness, grinning softly. "Then you'd better hurry and eat. I seem to have lost control of my hands." He turned his head and gently kissed her temple, nuzzling her hair.

He made a slightly surprised sound as her finger pressed against his lips, one eyebrow raising quizzically. When she returned to her food and asked him about his wings, he chuckled softly, brushing the tip of one wing over the back of his neck. "I hide them when I wear clothing, unless I need them, because it isn't always comfortable. When I'm shirtless, it's a coin toss. The fact that you enjoy them simply makes sure that the coin always lands wings-up."

The face she made, eyes closed, savoring the food, was adorable. He leaned in after giving her a moment to enjoy the food, softly gliding his tongue along her neck and up to her jawline, flicking it under her ear.

Alexandria: The Great Library - danixiewrites - 11-13-2014

Tinder reveled in his kisses, and it was only after she'd turned back to the food that it occurred to her the brisk motion may have made it seem otherwise. If she hadn't wanted him to trouble more than this over her (and it was still overwhelming that he had in the first place), she definitely didn't want him to think she'd been rejecting his lips on any other count. So after she savored the oats and his explanation brought a slow smile around the spoon in her mouth, she bit the tip of the utensil, trying to figure out how to fix...

...and discovered she needn't have worried.

A squeak escaped as his tongue swiped playfully over her skin, followed by her murmur of amused delight as he traced a path upward. "Jesse," she said, in a voice breathier than intended, which had the added effect of sending a blush up from her chest and into her cheeks. Still, she leaned her head back against his shoulder and grinned. "I'm not a pastry."

Aware part of the problem would be that she ate too slow and also that if she didn't do something, they wouldn't be eating at all, Tinder decided she needed to do something drastic. She rolled the tray to their right, and turned in his lap again, but this time, she grabbed a whole plate, stabbed a piece of toast with two forks, and faced him fully. "I've never played like this before," she said, simply, then nibbled on the edge of the toast. Swallowing, eyes searching his, she added, "One bite, one kiss? Or one dish, one kiss?" An emphasis on the last word implied they might not get to more than the plate she held aloft unless one or the other of them had a shred of restraint left--but Tinder was fire after all, and fire was as stubborn a creature as it wished to be. The blush deepened on her skin as she registered that she was nude to the pants she'd straddled, but he probably wouldn't notice it under the shimmer akin to welcoming hearthfire that rolled from head to toe.

Alexandria: The Great Library - thedarkwyrm - 11-13-2014

He chuckled softly at her squeak and breathy exclamation, continuing to nuzzle her neck until she moved to rest her head against him. "I agree. You're much more delicious than a pastry." He leaned back slightly to allow her to hold the plate, raising an eyebrow as she proposed the game.

"Hmmm.." He rubbed his chin thoughtfully with his free hand, his other hand mimicking the motion on her ass, squeezing and groping it lightly. "One dish, I think," he finally said, with a mischievous grin. The blush, though hidden well by her heat, did not escape his observant gaze. He knew why she was playing the game, and he intended to tease her until no amount of fire could hide the adorable blush that darkened her tan skin.

Alexandria: The Great Library - danixiewrites - 11-14-2014

Tinder squirmed in his lap, a helpless motion that said her body more than approved of his touch, thoroughly enjoyed his sensual teasing as much as his playful words. And this was the conundrum with her plan: neither of her hands were free to touch him in return. In truth, she hadn't thought much past putting herself in his lap and teasing him into eating with her...followed by a different sort of tasting session that would swallow every doubtful tendril creeping into her mind. Ah. Semantics. She draped the hand with the toast over his shoulder, nipples taut against his chest, and positioned the dish in question like an exhibit on display.

"Where's this one from again?" she asked, adopting a curious look and tilting her chin toward the little omelette rolls on the plate. "It looks edible."

Stars, that was hard to say with a straight face.

The corner of her mouth tipped upward a millimeter at a time, until she couldn't hold back the grin. Tinder smothered it against his neck, trembling a little with the unfamiliarity of the small pleasure of capturing a moment of fun. When she took a breath, the clean edges of his scent filled her with longing. "I can do this." She rubbed her cheek against his shoulder, the words likely intended to be a silent thought. "I can play."

Alexandria: The Great Library - thedarkwyrm - 11-14-2014

Jesse laughed softly at the faces she made, and at the effort it seemed to take her to ask that question in that way. "Tamagoyaki. It's a Japanese omelet." He picked up one of the forks, steadying the plate, as well, since Tinder seemed rather taken with her own good humor, and took a bite of the egg, making a contented sound.

"I'm quite fond of them." He picked up another bite with the fork, holding it up so Tinder could eat it when she had herself under control again. Not that he was at all helpful on that front; the hand that hand been teasing her curvy ass this entire time now slid down between her cheeks, smoothly gliding over the skin, reaching forward in an expedition to find and tease her womanhood with his talented, mischievous fingertips.
