The latter happens without fail if I'm required to do any shopping in a physical environment between last week and the end of the year.

I still only have a couple thousand because I gave up on Gaia before the economy really shit. I posted sometimes with Nadine in Durem? But that was about it. They still send me all sorts of emails about sales on their bullshit fake money tho.

I just feel like, whatever it was they wanted to accomplish with Tentacl, they could have just as easily managed by making a special 18+ subforum on Gaia only viewable by adults. Otherwise, the primary demographic for Tentacl was "people who grew out of Gaia", but most of them aren't going to be drawn in by another different moneypit (this time with tiiiiits).

Gaia just hasn't been roleplaying-centric since about 2004. And the total refusal to host public 'adult' content means everything ends up fighting-based, because you can go into gory detail about murder but not makeouts. It's not like it even works, everyone just takes it to PMs which makes things way grosser.

Clearly they're making money, so I don't see it changing any time soon. I'm just really disappointed Tentacl didn't keep up with the early stuff with NPCs that actually interacted with the community, and so on...

I stopped doing Gaia when they came out with new stuff every five minutes to spend money on, when the site got so loaded with flash game bullshit it became impossible to navigate, and when the ads were so prominent that you couldn't refresh an rp thread without dealing with them. I'm sorry, if I have to PAY YOU to enjoy your website at every turn... just... no. I don't mind donating, but I won't donate to something that's no longer enjoyable. And honestly, I won't put money into their products anymore. Not when they're just gonna give up on them. You can't expect customers to have faith in you when you don't even have faith in yourself.
