"Yeah, some guy bumped into me and I spilled my drink." Without realising it she made a sound of disappointment, something between a whimper and a sigh. She had a habit of making quirky little noises, and normally did try to avoid making them in public. But this was one of her favourite dresses, it couldn't be helped. Telling herself that the dress would be fine, and she would tend to it as soon as she got home, she took sip of her cosmo and focused her attention on Elsie.

"Stuff I do for fun?" She gazed up to the ceiling, her eyes following the multicoloured lights as she thought. "Write. My job involves writing but its not the same. Hmm, ski, Europa has a lot of Ski resorts and cold climate sports so most of us grew up with playing in the snow."

She chuckled at some memories of frolicking on the hills with friends, her mind wandering off to some of the more romantic encounters she's had while in the snow. Although she would never admit to it, Quinn really did miss home. She missed her friends, and her family. She realised she could have a new start here, but it wasn't as easy as she had once thought.

"Yourself? " She took another gulp of her drink, went to set the glass down, changed her mind and drank the rest of it.

<p>"Me?" Elsie chuckled. "I've been rebuilding stuff since the day my dad made the mistake of leaving a screwdriver within reach of my crib. My mom still tells about how they heard a crash from my room and found me in the middle of the wreck of my crib, which I had so very patiently removed all the screws from." Her gaze shifted into the distance. "Oh yeah. Give me parts and tools, and I'll be happy for days." She shrugged. "Other than that ... you ski, too? Cool! What places are your favorites? Ever done Olympus? They should rate that one four skulls just for the length, but what a rush! Twenty miles of pure acceleration, even at 1/3 G, and you need the run-out at the bottom."</p>
<p>She gave the other woman a grin. "Yeah, I'm kind of an adrenaline junkie. Skiing, hunting, racing, they're all fun in their own way. Nothing beats the thrill of getting to know someone new, though. Preferably in a friendly manner. People get cranky when someone tries to hurt me or my friends, and I have to get protective."</p>

Vrimlud entered the living room area and spotted the twins lounging around and watching TV together. He realises that he did not notice them earlier when he walked past them twice due to being in his own cape-focused world. The Bludkin sighed at his own ignorance and knew he would have to be more observant if he was to be a good bodyguard. Walking over to the Rasmodians, his blue eyes briefly looked at the monitor but found nothing to suit his tastes and so he focused them back on the twins.

"Hello there, twins. Vrimlud hopes you had a good night yesterday at Radius." His mind wanders back to how frantic the night felt for him and the waiter/bartender/one man show would not pick good as a way to describe the shift. Focusing back on the present, Vrimlud speaks again. "Vrimlud was wondering if we would be able to discuss the literal god topic that came up last night. We all agreed to drop the subject until we got home and Vrimlud was hoping now would be an okay time for it to be explained and discussed?"

"Depends on which Olympus, I think most places have an Olympus. Either it be a ski mountain or some kind of water park." She shrugged. Quinn wasn't lying whens he said she liked to travel. Her first goal was to get a job that involved writing, but her other was to travel to as many places as possible. How lucky was she when she landed a position with a travel magazine. Of course she wasn't travelling much anymore, having been sent to Osiris to work, but hopefully that would change if she stayed on good behaviour. If she had to interview any celebrities here, which she didn't think would happen, she would make sure to not offend and keep her opinions to herself.

"I'm not much into hunting or racing." She finished the rest of her drink then folded her hands on her lap. Looking around she saw that there wasn't many people in yet, and wondered if they were going to play any good music like they had the night before. Perhaps she had come too early. If the bar/club scene was anything like back on Europa, then no one really showed up until after midnight. Most opting to drink at home before going out to the bar where the drinks were more expensive. However, Quinn had no one to do any of this with which is why she ended up at Radius earlier than most. "I do like to dance, but it seems a bit early for that I guess."

<p>Elsie laughed. "I was thinking of Mons Olympus. Longest ski run in the solar system. It looks like a bunny slope, I mean, it's less than five degrees for most of it, but it's 26 km high, and the ski resort I visited was on the east side, where it's only about 250 km long - mostly because the east side is shielded from the worst of the dust storms they were still getting, so the snow stays more than a couple days after they make it. Thing is, even a five degree slope can still build up some really good speed after you've been going downhill for 20 minutes. I always wished someone had been crazy enough to build a resort on the 500 km slope." She sighed, as if the lack of a longer slope was a great tragedy. "Still, when I was there, they wouldn't take you to the rim until you'd signed a waiver."</p>
<p>She looked around and nodded. "Yeah. Still a little early for any band, but that just means you'll be ready when they set up. Won't have to fight your way through the crowd when they start trying to get past the bouncers." She chuckled. "I hate having to do that. Someone always ends up making a scene. And that's definitely not the kind of scene I enjoy. So much more enjoyable to make a scene that doesn't involve any fighting."</p>

There was a burn of alcohol on her tongue and she couldn't tell if the drinks were getting stronger or perhaps she'd had one too many. Resolving to enjoy this one a little slower, she held it to have something to do with her hands, but the sips were few and far between, comparatively.

"So flattering," she remarks with a light-hearted chuckle. "With a silver tongue like that I am sure you've whisked away far more enchanting women then you are letting on."

Though, his comments on her rendezvous also being male were wrong, she did not correct him. Naturally, she found that explaining her preference for women was quite difficult to slip in to casual conversation. She'd been accused more than once by easily-offended men of leading them on, since she wasn't one to turn down an offer for free drinks.

Another sip, and bangles rang together on the opposite wrist as she made a sort of 'aha gesture with her free hand. "I know you had a merc feel about you," she paused, tapping an index finger against her bottom lip. "Not to imply that you look like someone who enjoys doing questionable things for money."

Tentacles retreated and her giggles rang out in the half-darkness. It was a wonder that they way her tentacles circled her head like the image of Medusa wasn't nightmare inducing to those around her.

When Reyr finally opened her eyes she sat up and fell off of the other woman with a dull thud against the bedding, and stretched with a contented sigh. She crossed her ankles and linked her fingers over her tummy and simply lay next to her friend, staring up at the ceiling. An easy smile spread over her features, she knew this Martian so well.

"Yes, muffins. Blueberry muffins. Which can be all yours for the low, low price of getting out of bed." She pitched the confectioneries with the mock enthusiasm of a infomercial salesman. "Or," she begins, with the tone of someone attempting to strike what they think is a really good deal. She rolled over onto her side and propped her head up with her hand. "If you get up, and shower, and manage to make yourself look half-presentable, I will take you to brunch and we can chase away that hangover with mimosas and bloody marys." She wiggled her eyebrows, convincingly, even though no one was there to witness it.  "Then you can tell me why you smell like booze is practically oozing from every pore, when you were supposed to be working last night."

[/img]"http://i.imgur.com/FYpuFlo.png" style="avatar" style="max-width:25%;float:left;margin:0 18px;]The two lay together for some time under the weight of his words. Assurance she wasn't alone, or simple reassurance he was present. The Lepi was cradled by his body, this shell of motherboards and circuits and technologically inclined mechanisms, and she fell into a silence fitting her typical demeanor. Her disposition could be seen as a dour, dreadful hurdle to overcome, but she didn't want to vent it towards her companion. Not when he was being so understanding. Even after sharing he was a fugitive, that he was running for his life, Taet embraced the dancer without second thoughts. Dax felt selfish for how she was acting, but in light of where they were, this was the least selfish she could manage being. Their secret remained a secret, and if that didn't stand to prove some sort of selflessness towards the android, there was nothing left to do. At least he had agreed to her plan; even if it was a rather sparse plan.

Eventually the night passed through the counting of moments, and Dax could feel herself sobering. Hugging her robe into her otherwise nude figure so she could turn to face Taet without losing the article of clothing, she asked, "If I wanted to show you to my apartment, would you want to come?" Blood colored eyes sought his, though she knew it was unlikely she could gauge his feelings that way. Still, he looked human enough that she tried anyway. "You don't have to go tonight. The room is paid for... I just don't want to stay at the club. Not looking like this." Briefly she made motion to her features, indicating sadness didn't pay bills, and further, she wasn't able to shake the feeling.

Radius || Open - bear - 11-23-2014

It took Taet a few moments to register all of what she had said and process it, and while he did, he matched her gaze, having not minded one bit when she rearranged herself to face him. His own eyes were merely facsimiles of eyes, being a construction of lenses, LEDs, and the ceramic material which composed so much of his body. But deep in his eyes, there was something there for her to catch a glimpse of. Some hint of humanity in the way the plates expanded and contracted to alter the size of his pupil.

"I should change for that trip. Make sure I keep my identity more hidden."

He nodded as he spoke, indicating that he was going to come with her. Absolutely. In fact, that she even asked if he was alright with him confused him only somewhat, as he couldn't bring himself to imagine being anywhere else once the idea was in place. To Taet, it just seemed natural, but he supposed it was a consequence of his programming, and that the feeling was artificially generated since she was his designated owner. The thought didn't make the feeling any less real to him, though, and Taet quickly gave her space to rise to her feet again, taking the opportunity to get up himself and begin the process of altering his appearance.

He figured that going with something more subdued would be a good start. Instead of the brilliantly bright blue hair, he should go with something tame and natural. Black felt right, and at the thought, his hair shifted quickly and without fanfare to a black coloration. As well, it grew in elsewhere on his head, filling out in a more uniform style, so that he was no longer possessing a mohawk. Finally, he considered making himself look like one of her kind. A Lepi. His subconscious programming had given him a detailed understanding of the basic external physiological aspects of the Lepi, and even at the merest thought of taking that kind of shape, antennae began to form on his head. They were not perfect copies, as they were composed merely of hair, but Taet could not do better with what he had with him. Still, he turned to her, seeking approval, having concluded this step of his appearance alterations before she would be able to get completely off the bed.

"Not many, though," he admitted after a moment's contemplation.  "In this day and age, mercs with morals don't get much work.  There's always someone else who will do the job."

His refill arrived, and he sipped it slowly.  "I imagine being able to read people is useful in your line of work.  I know it is in mine, as well.  What other 'feels' do you get from me?"

On the screen, a competition of sorts was taking place, vibrant and loud like it was actually taking place in their apartment. Dancing, music, lights and sounds - everything one would expect from the galactic super sensation Bust A Move. they may not have noticed him marching through the suite if not for his direct comments, and both swiveled a bit to meet the Bludkin's attention.

"I did!" Ariel announced with her usual beaming smile. "The Rasmodians were so friendly. I didn't catch their names though."

"Probably for the best." Leira breathed, shifting where she was swaddled so her arms were free from whatever they had been doing underneath the blanket. "But why would it matter? It's not like there's any good that could come from those two."

Ariel huffed at the statement, suppressing the urge to roll her eyes as far back in her head as she could. "Forget it. I'll find out next time I'm at the club. Anyway, what are you asking?"

Both blinked their questioning hues, though Ariel seemed more accepting of the inquiry than Leira, who was half torn between paying attention to their bodyguard and keeping up with the events of the show.

"Yeah, I think you need to elaborate on what you're looking to find out. Like, you don't get the literal part... Or you don't get what a God is?" Leira chuckled and shrugged, sounding condescending without meaning to be. "Specifics please."

</p>
Quinn listened with her chin on her hand while Elsie went on about the specifics of her skiing experience at Mons Olympus, not very interested in all the technical talk. Who cares if it was 26 km high, and 5 degree slopes and going down hill for 20 minutes? All Quinn cared about was having fun with her friends. Friends. Something she didn't have here. Perhaps she should cut Elsie some slack, technical and mechanical things did appear to be her passion. Quinn wasn't sure what her passion was, except for maybe writing. Some days it seemed more like work than a passion.

"I haven't been there before I'm afraid, but I've heard good things about it. Perhaps it will be my next trip if I can afford a vacation this year." She went to take another drink, then sighed when all that was left was but a drop.

"I'm not getting up to dance if no one else is." Quinn gave Elsie a 'what the hell are you talking about' look. "and by myself? I don't think so. As for crowds and getting past those hot bouncers, I wouldn't mind so much. The scenes I make don't usually involve a fight."

Radius || Open - Kat - 11-26-2014

[/img]"http://i.imgur.com/FYpuFlo.png" style="avatar" style="max-width:25%;float:left;margin:0 18px;]Dax envied his enthusiasm. In the back of her mind, she hoped there had been a time she reflected what she saw in him, even if it would eventually be thrown away like everything else. Life had always given her a mess to work with, but as few could really grasp outside of seeing it, Daxet was very good at cleaning up messes. Hers or someone elses, it didn't matter. "If you think it will help." Her lips formed a very brief smile, appreciative of his cooperation even if she wasn't entirely sure what he was planning to do. The Lepi moved from the bed to stand, lithe and graceful in her height, with crimson orbs studying what Taet had mentioned as his transformation began. They were subtle changes initially, quick and clean and in a flowing measure that spread from the roots of his scalp towards the top of where his antennae would be formed. Her curiosity wasn't one of someone involved in the scientific field, but instead that of an individual who hadn't seen another Lepi in close to 40 years.

Her shock was muted, but still visible. Still very present on her features even after he had finished the quick shift of his appearance. Invasive, Daxet found herself reaching out to touch the changes, fingers so brief and light in their assessments, one would wonder if she even touched him at all. "You look so..." Blinking, cautious, the Lepi didn't know how to finish. "Real." Letting her hands fall away to her sides, the dancer took a deep breath and straightened her posture, turning towards the door of the room. It was best she didn't let him see the small pangs of pain behind her alien hues, though would he mind if he did? Maybe not.

Dax left to stand in the hallway, waiting for Taet to follow suit so they could begin the journey back downstairs, and from there, out into the night. "Do you need anything while we're headed home?"

Radius || Open - bear - 11-27-2014

Taet kept up with her, having not minded her touches, and in fact, finding them a welcome change as they made their way out of the club and towards the streets. Her query about his needs was met with silence for a moment before he let her know that he didn't need anything for now. His movement behind her felt natural to him, easy. Like something he would do every day, and Taet felt good about it. Like he was helping someone. It was a welcome change to the kind of entity which was used to dealing in demands. At least, that was what the memories he'd been programmed with wanted him to see as familiar. Instead, they made him feel sick.

Taet's gait behind her was beat to the same rhythm as her own, and he kept pace easily as a result, his height adjusting slightly to improve the pace as they made their way through the streets. The night may have been young and just a touch foggy, but Taet felt safe, nonetheless. Secure behind someone he actually wouldn't mind calling his 'owner,' even if the word still left him wanting to destroy Coan more than ever for giving him good feelings about it.

His mind was not as much his own as he would've liked, and he pondered about asking her if she knew a programmer he could use to give him the fresh start he so desired. Let him keep his anger in exchange for a new beginning, without all the false memories and implanted associations. He hated knowing that many of the things he liked, he liked for no better reason than because some bigwig at Coan had decided he should.

He hated it more than anything else.

His thoughts kept him occupied as he followed her in mild silence, his green eyes with their slight glow leveled absently on her rump as she walked ahead of him, leading him for the time being. There was no conscious decision to where his gaze rested, it was simply the spot they had ended up, and when Taet snapped back to the present, he was quick to look elsewhere, regardless of what it had been that had drawn him out of his reminiscent and furious stupor.

There were eyes on them, of course. The cameras were ubiquitous, but whether there were minds behind them, whether those minds were in league with Coan, was a more important question. After all, the last thing that Taet wanted was Coan tracking him down, and hurting Dax, or worse, because of her actions involving him.

[/img]"http://i.imgur.com/Ur4KPiT.png" style="avatar" style="max-width:25%;float:right;margin:0 0 18px 18px;]Poster in hand, she was quiet. Mauve splashes spun around their pupils, irises dilating their tricolor canvases as the street life continued to bustle around her. Free hand rose so a gloved finger could trace the outline of the performers jaw. Seemed the same under scrutiny that Taiga could be convinced she was headed in the right direction. After so much time in seeking mode, it was a wonder she even had the wits about her to accept this new option. Still, it felt right. It felt like she had somewhere to go, and there, someone to be with. Idly, she crunched the pedal to her motorcycle to give it a few loud revs. No one present on the streets seemed to know what to make of her vehicle, being it was two centuries extinct in most parts of the galaxy, but Taiga always had her bike, no matter how far she had to lug it.

Done for Aisling... Rather, Aslan.

Taiga had heard true love never dies. It does. Countless times, over and over, reincarnated in a cyclic grind that could drive anyone insane trying to keep up with it. Taiga may have come off a bit changed by her allotment in transit, but when one fell in love with a Goddess, they committed to chasing hopes across star clusters and habitable quadrants of space. There were many different women she could recall fondly, each as precious and dear to her heart as the last, as they all housed something far greater than themselves. Taiga didn't understand the full scope of power, but she knew what it meant for her partner, and every death was just one more search she would need to set out on. Mourning came in moving, and the Fae was always headed somewhere else. Far from the origins of their love affair, there were light years spanned and numerous lives lived, all of which the creature traversed without complaint.

Even if she had something to bitch about, who was there to listen?

The trip to the listed location wasn't a long one, though Taiga didn't seem to notice the pedestrians and hovering vehicles surrounding her bike. Weaving through the traffic brought unwanted attention to the Fae, eyes she didn't recognize from species she had never encountered before, yet there wasn't pause to her pace. Actually, the angry calls and honks of horns only furthered her recklessness, sending her streaking towards the club noisily. She arrived with tires crunching to a stop just a few yards from the entrance, crushing torn gravel road in their wake. Dismounting with a slow sigh, the Watcher shook out her violet coif and left the bike alone, knowing she could easily track it back down if someone was dumb enough to steal it. Not that they'd have any use for it.

Glowing orbs were met with a neon flood of strobe lights as steps led her through the crowded passage, the club's front entrance filled with more unfamiliar presences that sent her senses spiraling. The joint smelled like candy and sex, the air thick with perspiration and pounding beats. Something seemed to ping on her radar, but it only brought a frown to her determined features. Where she was meant to be was upstairs, hosted in a less congested area, and an obliged Taiga thanked the robot who gave her directions. So she ascended the steps two at a time with eyes peeled and ears perked in a spacious radius, hoping to catch any sign available of where Aslan may have been.

That was until she spotted the show, the stage, and in that moment, the love of her life.

Lips curved slowly into a smile as she watched from the distance, unable to hide her pleased visage as a Tiger was seemingly removed from this existence. Having seen magician's work before, Taiga didn't immediately jump to what magic may have been used, but she did feel a sense of pride towards the performer. That was her woman, making a crowd gasp in astonishment. Not speaking as whispers were shared among the viewers, it was simple to just let the show commence, and in the back of her mind, give praise for every action and mannerism the Magician made. It was like living in the Twilight Zone. She could see the subtle similarities as well as the differences, and they seemed to engulf her attention for the entirety of the act.

It wasn't until Aslan finished with a showy wave that Taiga snapped out of her fixation, straightening her posture so the leather jacket wrapped arms under her bosom could be unfolded. Sunglasses kept her vision hidden, but they did nothing to keep the glow from beaming. Likely, she looked as strange as any other alien floating around the club, which brought about a sense of calm to her composure. There was no need to work hard to keep her existence hidden when everyone else was inhuman to some extent. Her glamour didn't drop, but it was a muted half attempt out of habit. At some point, she had lit a cigarette, and it burned a translucent red under the light fixtures. Practically background, Taiga skirted the crowd to watch Aslan head towards the downstairs bar, and in her usual looming fashion, she pursued unnoticed.

A conversation occurred at the counter between the Magician and some dude, but Taiga didn't intervene, despite half wanting to strangle the stranger. It was a matter of territory, wasn't it? The gentleman shoved off shortly afterwards, off to mingle elsewhere, and Taiga took advantage of the situation to sidle up to Aslan and take a seat on the now unoccupied stool. Flicking her cigarette, the Fae blew a plume of the crimson smoke upwards and commented offhandedly, "Guess he was a fan of the show." Shooting the other woman a playful smirk, she added, "You were very good, you know. Best I've seen. Is there a secret you'd like to share?"
