Most grains (including flour) unavoidably contain weevil eggs. This only becomes a problem if you don't eat them within a certain amount of time. I learned my lesson about buying whole grain spaghetti in bulk. (You can kill them all off by freezing it for a week before use if you want to store something longterm)

I just lost. So. Many. Foods. Half my rice, all my flour, sugar, pancake/waffle mix, bread crumbs, cereal, pasta...everything that I hadn't already isolated and bagged in zippies (like the beans, which I do for a completely different kind of bug-pest-zilla). I'm just....just.

Yes indeedy. The freezing thing works great, until hubs sticks a canister of open, contaminated oatmeal next to them and leaves it there for me to discover some time later. The absolute BEST PART is that he made some of that oatmeal for me twice this past week. *shudders* *shudders again*
On a brighter note!!! I got a Christmas bonus, and now I know what I'm doing with it. XD

Yeah our cupboards still aren't safe after the spaghetti incident. I don't trust anything. We thought we'd gotten rid of them but then it turned out they were breeding in the peanut butter. Now everything gets put in vaccuum sealed containers. We lost so much food.

I'm usually pretty good about bagging everything nice and individual-like once they come home, there's a ridiculous army of bay leaves, stuff is all plastic container sealed instead of still in the boxes. He snuck that by me, though, and so I get to go killy smash smash, as well as sneaking in a good ol' teaching point.
I...don't do small crawly bugs.
